DALLAS – Feb. 7, 2006 – MetroPCS Communications, Inc., an innovative regional wireless service provider that offers convenient, hassle-free service in metropolitan markets including Atlanta, Miami, Tampa, San Francisco and Sacramento, has reached the two-millionth subscriber milestone. The announcement comes as the company celebrates its four-year anniversary of service, this month.  MetroPCS provides no-contract, unlimited anytime local and long distance wireless service for one flat monthly rate.

MetroPCS launched service in 2002 and celebrated its one-millionth subscriber just two years ago. By giving people the freedom to call whenever they want and talk as long as they want, without worrying about extra charges on their bill, MetroPCS has doubled its subscriber base in two years and reached the prestigious two-millionth subscriber mark in only four years.

“Unlimited service plans should mean unlimited,” said Roger Linquist, president and chief executive officer of MetroPCS. “Increasingly, we are finding that consumers are frustrated by confusing wireless bills and hidden fees. Our business model is simple, ‘pay by the month, not by the minute,’ and consumers have responded. We are proud to reach this historic milestone and to provide our subscribers what they want – a worry-free wireless service.”

MetroPCS service plans start at $35 per month for unlimited, anytime local calling, and for $40 per month, customers also enjoy unlimited, anytime domestic long distance service in the continental United States. MetroPCS offers additional unlimited services for a flat monthly rate such as directory assistance, picture messaging, as well as domestic and international text messaging. Service with MetroPCS requires no contract and no credit check. MetroPCS built its own 3G network from the ground up in all its markets utilizing Lucent Technologies equipment.
