Engadget Mobile got their hands on a survey being sent around to AT&T customers, and it might foretell of some new QWERTY messaging phones coming soon to the carrier's shelves.  The survey asks for consumer opinions on a number of text-centric phones, including a T-Mobile Sidekick and VZW's new enV2, as well as an AT&T branded, dual-sliding Pantech device that looks a little sleeker and svelter than the current Duo.  Duo 2, maybe?

There's also a Samsung slider with full QWERTY that looks a lot like the i620/640, and a totally made up phone that looks like a cross between a Sidekick Slide and iMate Ultimate 9502.  Interesting.

Don't go getting your hopes up banking on any/all of these coming to AT&T anytime soon.  Then again, it'd make a lot of sense if at least one of them did; T-Mob's got its Sidekicks, VZW's got the enV2, Voyager, Alias and Glyde, and Sprint's got the Rumor ... what's AT&T got for the text fiend who wants QWERTY but doesn't want to deal with Windows Mobile?  Looks like they could use them a good messaging phone or two, and soon.
