Rumor: Samsung A877 to launch 3/29 for AT&T

According to an anonymous source, it looks like Samsung A877 will be launching through AT&T on March 29. If you’re in the market for a sweet messaging phone, this might be one worth waiting for.

• Slide-out QWERTY and messaging shortcut button
• 3 MP camera with geotagging
• Telenav GPS Navigator
• Full HTML browser
• TouchWiz user interface
• Quadband EDGE/GSM
• Dual band HSDPA (1900 and 850)
• Bluetooth, MP3 player

Not too shabby for a non smartphone. The AMOLED displays Samsung was showing off on the Omnia HD at Mobile World Congress were impressive, really bright and crisp, and the A877 seems to boast the same type of screen.

The specs look great, and if they bear out, this would be a nice “make-good“ for the flop that was the AT&T Quickfire. Quickfire, another touchscreen/QWERTY messaging phone, was recently pulled from AT&T shelves because of problems with the charger overheating.

EDITED TO INCLUDE:
Aaron's earlier post, mentioning a "Jackfrost" model coming out on AT&T on the 29th, might lead one to believe that the A877 is indeed this unnamed phone. Says Aaron: "I think it's certainly solid enough that we could make the prediction."
