Rumors, Rumors: Is This Sony Ericsson's 2007 Mobile Phone Lineup?
As 2006 winds down, some of us are compiling our various year end reviews and lists while others look forward to what 2007 might hold. Me, I'm gearing up for a little vacation (my honeymoon, actually!) and then a trip to CES in Las Vegas the first week of January to catch a glimpse of the future of the mobile phone industry.
While anything claiming to be "insider information" should be taken with a grain of salt, I couldn't help but pour over a certain thread over at Esato after it was mentioned on Engadget Mobile Wednesday morning. Shaliron, an Esato member who calls Melbourne, Australia home, has posted a preview of some 40 new mobiles that may be released by Sony Ericsson next year. Again, this is a posting on an Internet chat forum and not anything official from SE - so don't treat it as fact. But seeing the thread has some believable-looking "spy photos" and mentions an m600i successor with a 3.2 mp camera and Wi-Fi is on the roadmap, I couldn't help but get a little excited myself.
By the way, if you want to see a very cool looking, just announced Japan-only SE phone, check out the SO903i. That's one seriously sweet looking mobile.
Some highlights from the post: "AI" - Ultra slim (9.4mm) candybar phone with metal/rubberized plastic body, Walkman 2 media player, and high-speed data capabilities.
W910 - High end flip phone w/3.2 MP camera, stereo speakers, possibly UIQ interface, similar specs to SO903i.
"Maria" - Successor to the flagship W950 Walkman phone, likely upgraded with 3.2 MP camera.
"Sofia" - Probable successor to the K790/800 Cyber-Shot phone. 5 megapixel camera to compete with Nokia N95.
"HandyCam Phone" - Slider phone with superior video recording capabilities.
"Elena" - Successor to the M600 smartphone, with Wi-Fi and a 3.2 megapixel camera.
CES (January 8-12), 3GSM (February 13-16) and CeBIT (March 15-21) are traditional venues for handset manufacturers to unveil their new goodies, so stay tuned ... 2007 promises to be a very exciting year for cutting-edge mobile technology.

Satio now comes in red, and features one of the best cameras in the mobile phone game. It's unlocked. It's sexy. Everyone has had the feeling at some point; that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you purchase a new cell phone and finally get the new toy you've been wanting for some time. Often times, the feeling goes away when you realize that you have to buy all new chargers in order to accommodate the device - in some cases, the chargers work out to cost more than the phone itself. Though there are universal charging solutions out there, the... NOTE: Continued from Part One
Speaking of megapixels, Sony Ericsson held their MWC press conference last night and announced two new phones. The W995 walkman phone is a typical SE slider, but packs an 8.1MP camera and 3.5mm headphone jack along with a non-smartphone OS and Walkman media player. W995 will be available by the end of Q1, or within the next few months. SE's star of the show, however, was "Idou" (an internal... I think that Noah should get some Sony Erricson Walkman phones. Reply on what phones you want! iPhone:
1. When getting Wifi, you can select your network, and to ensure connection, you can click on the network you selected. If the IP address is shown, then you have been connected!
2. If a Wifi Network isn't connecting you, go to the last feature (the one where you write a network name) and write the network name. It gives you a better chance at connecting!
Sony Ericcson: Any one
1. Go to Main... I have recently found a handy trick on the Sony Ericsson W610i.If you press 3 2 5 6 at the same time (not holding it, that will launch the VR) it will show you your phones battery life, memory, phone number, etc.I do not know if it works for other Sony Ericsson models. hd has a problem that u can not view everything in landscape mode.... for tht we need 2 install GSen ..some software... X1 in this case is much better... and i have heard that htc's camera quality is not good ...their 5 MP = 3 MP .. ! :( Hey Noah,
My name is Raquel and I was recently thinking about purchasing a SE M600i. I live in the United States (Rhode Island) to be exact, and I am currently using T-Mobile as my service provider. I realize that the phone is compatible with T-Mobile to an extent, but I don't know what that extent is. I've been wanting the phone ever since it came out and now that I have the chance to buy it, it seems like I keep finding more disappointing... I would say that, if the only reason you're thinking about the X1 is for the keyboard....but, you think you can get used to a software keyboard, the Touch HD is a beast !I find the soft keyboard on the Touch HD quiet usable...even in portrait mode...I'd go as far as to say that the soft keyboard on the Touch HD imo, is the the better than any other WinMo device I have come across. (emphasis on WinMo) wow wow wow here. Lets think for a minute. Yeah its a good phone if your on ATT, but I don't think its worth $800. If you really need a good touch phone with a keyboard, get yourself a Fuze. Its going to save you a solid $500 in the process. Plus, the phone is a bit laggy and there aren't that many panels even available yet. I still say hold on before you do anything rash. first of all it depends on which network your on. if your on att then with x1a you can get 3 g which is a huge plus. but if ur on tmobile then there really is no difference here as edge is what youll get on both. Xperia is nice, very sturdy, very well built ! HTC HD has the amazing screen but not actual keyboard. Im actually thinking of getting the X1a myself. I say go for it. Touch HD isn't coming Stateside, and the X1a (American X1) is coming to bestbuy for an insane 800 smackeroonies. Wait for the X1a to get picked up by a carrier. HTC Touch HD or Sony Ericsson XPERIA-X1 ..for which one should i go for ??? or just wait ? ... i need ur advice..i am really confused... PLZZ HELP!!
