Samsung's Slash comes to Virgin Mobile
Virgin Mobile is expanding their portfolio to offer it's first Samsung device, a sleek looking slider called Slash. Not much information is out about the device yet, but it will feature voice activated calling, SMS, speakerphone, camera, MP3 ring tones, Bluetooth, and a wireless Wen browser.
Pricing and availability haven't been announced yet. One last Instinct video covering GPS, Visual Voicemail, and the Calendar. Overall it's a really solid phone. And at $129? Best value goin' for Sprint customers wanting a high-end device. Too bad there's no calendar synching, though. Three hot touchscreen phones - which one's right for you? This is the loooong version of a head to head to head between Instinct, Vu, and iPhone. If you're not up for 15 in-depth minutes, check out the short version for the summary. Sprint Just Announced It: Instinct will be $129.99 after rebate with a Two-Year "Simply Everything" Plan. Plans start at $69.99/month. Super aggressive pricing to compete with iPhone 3G, huh? YouTube, Music Player, Music Store, and Sprint Radio ... And a bit of a smackdown from iPhone (!) This video looks at multimedia on Instinct: Camera, Photos, Video Player, and some memory overload. Looks like it's snazzy with limited media loaded up, but gets bogged down by 100+ photos. Q. Which device do you like better Noah, the Samsung Glyde or the LG Voyager?
A. Voyager is bigger to carry around but much easier to use. If you want a small, cool phone that you'll use mainly only for calls and texting, Glyde will work and I love how small it is. But if you plan to also use the Web and the VCAST music and video features, you might find Glyde frustrating - I know I did. Check 'em out in person, as I personally think Voyager is really too big to... Samsung Mobile recently added 22 new charging stations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to help phone junkies stay juiced up while traveling this week.
I am personally grateful for the free Samsung Mobile Charging Station service, which I coincidentally took advantage of yesterday at one of the 51 charging stations in Los Angeles at LAX.
In addition to MSP, power thirsty and travelers desperate for a little battery boost can take advantage of Samsung’s generosity at the... Starting July 1, you'll be able to get all the minutes you want for $79.99/month thanks to Virgin Mobile. The "Totally Unlimited" plan will work nationwide with no contract necessary. You'll be able to pay via cash or credit, and you're not going to get hit with roaming charges, which is a big advantage over similarly priced regional offerings.
Another $10 each month will get you unlimited SMS/MMS/Email/IM messaging on top of all of those minutes. Looks like a pretty good... What’s Good: Supports every feature Sprint offers; EV-DO Rev. A data speeds; Good touchscreen response; Bright, clear display; Excellent GPS/navigation and voice command features; Good visual voicemail feature; 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo Bluetooth; Second battery included in packaging; Excellent value at $129 retail price
What’s Not Good: “Full HTML” Web browser is disappointing; No IM support; No calendar synching; No support for user-created ringtones or background images on menu... Given that the Samsung Instinct is Sprint's flashiest, most hyped device ever, has received mainly good reviews since it launched a week ago, and was priced at a bargain basement $129 on contract, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Sprint sent out word this morning that Instinct's broken all sorts of sales records in its first week on the shelves, and word around the InterWeb is that the handset is sold out all over the place.
“We had high expectations going into the launch... Things have been busy over in YouTube land lately, which is great. And while I can't read all of the comments on every video, once in awhile I scan through to see what people wish I'd done differently or would do next time in a video (seriously, have you ever tried reading YouTube comments on a regular basis?).Seems like comparison videos are popular, so I'll keep those coming. Seems like Instinct and iPhone are popular, as well, and of course there's the requisite fanbody-dom...
