Silverlight for Android?Just a quick bit of fodder for the Android rumor mill. Tech Radar has an Interview with Microsoft's Scott Guthrie regarding the possibility of their Silverlight product, which competes directly with Adobe's Flash, showing up on Android-powered phones. Considering Apple's decision to accommodate neither on the iPhone, Silverlight for Android could really heat up the touch-screen game.
While certainly not an announcement of Microsoft's intention to get Silverlight into the hands of G1 and future Android phone owners, Guthrie did make an interesting statement: "It's more of an open platform, that is something we're going to continue to look at. Certainly as it's gotten deployed and if sales are good we'll definitely keep our eyes out and look at that in the future." I've got Flash running on my Linux-powered computer right now. And while it's not officially supported, I think there's a good chance it could be installed on Android phones as well. I should clarify that I meant that it isn't supported for my particular 64-bit configuration. Hopefully, with the release of Flash 10, users in my position can skip the tedious hacks. Well, get a load of this. Adobe just released Flash 10, and it supports Linux from the get-go. The previous version of Flash put Linux on the low-priority list; delivering support 6 months after Windows and Mac users were satisfied. Exciting stuff, considering the release of Android. I wish service providers, handset makers, and software developers would revisit this simple, yet revolutionary concept that was introduced to the world in 1776. Each person or group focuses on one area and continually improves their piece of the puzzle. Let’s use Verizon Wireless for our example. Verizon Wireless has a great network (I personally use it) and its coverage area is...ANDROID NEWS FOR NOAH! I HOPE THIS IS OF SOME HELP!!!This is a link to a few android tid bits! Telling from the videos and reviews about the G1, I'm guessing the sidekick would have a better feel when texting. But if responsiveness isnt a big deal for you(not saying the G1 has a bad keyboard) than I would for sure go with the G1. It has everything a sidekick offers and more. For $30 bucks extra why not add 3G speeds, a touch screen, and a 3MP...sidekick 2008 vs. htc g1im getting rid of my w580i and getting a new phone. im looking for a phone with good texting and a good music player.i know that the g1 isnt out yet but it will soon. i have tmobile and if you can think of any other phones i might like please tell me |
