Just two days after I returned "Tony Hawk's Proving Ground" to GameStop because I couldn't do manuals with the Wii remote, T-Mobile showed me how lame I really am by throwing the new Sidekick LX Tony Hawk Edition in my face.  The TH Edition will add video recording, Bluetooth file transfer, and stereo Bluetooth functionality to the current LX's feature set.  Lucky for you LX owners, all of the new goodies will be coming to standard edition Sidekick LXs via an over the air update this Summer.

Tony Hawk's Sidekick will of course be skate-themed, and along with all kinds of skater sounds, skater images, and skater videos,  "the bottom cover of the device is outfitted to resemble and feel just like the top of a skateboard, including a texture like grip-tape and eight simulated screws."  Krazy.

No pricing info has been released, but T-Mobile did say that current Sidekick owners will get first crack at upgrading to the Tony Hawk Edition before it goes on sale to the rest of us soon thereafter.  T-Mobile will also be sponsoring all kinds of crazy Tony Hawk stuff this summer, including a tour, a contest, and charitable work with Hawk's foundation.

Q. Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for all your great videos that has helped me alot. That being said I have a question to ask you, DO you know if it has been confirmed about the new sidekick Gekko/Aspen coming out on July?  Is there any difference between the Lx to the Gekko/Aspen?  And also is there a difference with the new Tony Hawk SK and the LX coming out in mid July?  Do you know where I can get a Black Sidekick...

Gekko: Sidekick iD successor to feature interchangeable faceplates

Gekko: Sidekick iD successor to feature interchangeable faceplates
Hiptop3.com seems to have the juice on the forthcoming T-Mobile Sidekick Gekko, also possibly known as "Aspen" and codename: Style2.  Looks like Gekko will take the place of the now-defunct Sidekick ID at the low-end of the SK lineup, and will feature some kind of color-changeable front faceplates (hence the moniker) and other customizations.  Gekko may also use the same Sharp LCD display currently found on Sidekick LX, and a...
