Thunder: First Spy Shots of Touch Screen BlackBerryBuckle Up ... The touchscreen media phone Battle Royale is set to rage on. BlackBerrySync has posted some shots of the upcoming BlackBerry "Thunder" 9500, including a few looks at its media player and camera interface. Between the slick look of BlackBerry OS 4.7 and the rumors that the 360 x 480 touch display will be covered in glass a la iPhone, it looks like RIM's goin' for the gold with their first-ever touchscreen handheld.
Sorry for the bad Olympic pun there ... I was just reading about US sprinter Tyson Gay's leg injury over on SI.com. Seriously, though, it looks like Verizon's going all out to win the touchscreen wars on sheer volume of choices alone. With Voyager, Glyde, and Dare already on the market and Thunder coming soon, that's four VCAST phones with touchscreens - two with full QWERTY boards, as well - in a variety of shapes, sizes, and feature sets to appeal to all but the most die-hard iPhone fanatic shopping for a new high-end cellie this summer. Of course, you never know how these things really are until you get one in hand ... but my money's on RIM to do right by their first keyboard-less BlackBerry, however strange an idea that may be. ![]() All about Our fancy algorithm says this stuff is related...Tuesday, July 08, 2008what will the new (refreshed) voyager be like? Will it be the same only with VVM or will it be completely remodled? Bootleg: BlackBerry Storm caught on video, sneaking into the movies styleWatching this video from Italian site ilTrillo.com is seriously a lot like watching a bootleg copy of a first-run movie that hasn't come to your local theater yet. In this case it goes like this: Yeah, you get to see more on the BlackBerry Storm but you have to suffer through a shaky handycam vid shot from the back of the auditorium and also deal with clipping audio and lots of people's heads between you and the content you really want to...Verizon Wireless Blitz - Unboxing and Hands-OnYou asked for it ... Nokia 5800Okay, this is more like a "Paper DogFight" than a real dogfight since, you know, none of these phones are actually available yet. So what? Let's look at 'em on paper and see how they stack up so you can get a jump on arguing with your FaceBook Friends over which of these new phones is the best.Note that I'll include the US carrier for each phone in the competitor run-down. I'm well aware that the Storm is also available in...BlackBerry Touchscreen: Verizon Wireless confirms the Storm is on the wayIt's official! Verizon Wireless and BlackBerry have confirmed that the Storm will be available later this fall. The first BlackBerry touchscreen will make an exclusive debut in the U.S. with Verizon next month. Sure, you could pick up an unlocked GSM MING via CompUSA or an importer, but without carrier backing most Americans had no idea that MING was a phone and not *just* a dynasty from their history books. Looks like Verizon Wireless is aiming to change all of that with the introduction of...Par-Tay!: AT&T announces BlackBerry Bold partiesLaunch party means launch, right? I mean it kind of has to, right? Hope so, for AT&T has opened up online registration for six parties to celebrate the new BlackBerry Bold. These actually aren't launch parties by name, so maybe I'm jumping the gun here, but the party invite does promise the chance to mingle, eat, relax and enjoy as you discover What Makes You Bold. Interested? If you live in one of...Storm: New promo shots of Verizon BlackBerry StormHey, look, it's more photos of the Verizon-badged BlackBerry Storm. These are straight from the CrackBerry.com forums. Can't be long now before we see this thing released, huh?Seriously? : iPhone may be headed to Verizon next year!Wow, some kind of day for Apple. Their stock is getting hammered and leading a NASDAQ plunge. Esquire ran an article about how Steve Jobs is very much mortal, after all. And now this.9to5mac is reporting that an insider sort of tipster claims "Apple will be announcing iPhones for Verizon Wireless in 2009, perhaps as early as Macworld 2009." That's all kinds of good news for iPhone lovers and VZW supporters out there, and...Omnia on AT&T still?Hey, does anyone have ANY idea whether the Samsung Omnia is still coming to AT&T or just Verizon Wireless now??realyreally?dudei need a good phone and now i got the chanceeeeeeeeeshietInstinct vs Blackberry CurveGet the curve!!!!!re:i am unable to personaly try this but i found other sites that state if you send yourself a mms with the audio file you are then able to save the audio as a ringtone i am in verizons extended network so mms does not work for me. hope this helpsverizon taking over alltelthis is my first posting so here it goes. i just switched to verizon as i found out about the takeover by verizon for alltel. anyway i was wondering if anyone has some info as to when it will actualy be noticeable to verizon and alltel customers as i live in an area dominated by sprint and alltel. i am in the "extended network" with verizon and am unable to send picture messages as well as messages that exceed 160 charicters. please give me all...um...If you are looking for a smart phone, i would personally go with a Blackberry device such as the Blackberry Curve, or the Blackberry 8830 World Addition (if you travel out of the country a lot). Any feedback? The reason I like the flip devices so much is because I can throw it in my purse and not worry about it calling anyone by accident. I know you can lock bar style devices and touchscreens, but does locking the device hamper any of the features such as caller ID?
