Vu: LG Vu mobile TV phone now available from AT&T
The LG Vu went on sale today at AT&T, but apparently is only available in some areas just yet. When I headed to the ATT Wireless site and entered zip codes from here in the Bay Area (Oakland, San Francisco, Berkeley, etc), Vu didn't show up. When I switched to my old Brooklyn, NY Zip, I got the page. Hmm.
So your mileage may vary depending on where you live, but if you're interested you can give it a whirl. Sign a two-year contract and pony up $299 (after $100 mail in rebate), and LG's touchscreen, AT&T Mobile TV-enabled beauty can be yours. VU's got a 3" LCD touch display, HTML browser, 2MP camera with auto focus (but no flash), media player, and - of course - that Mobile TV goodness.
Not sure you want it? Don't even know what it is? Watch my hands-on with Vu video from CITA '08.
And get the scoop on Vu, including full specs, right here on PhoneDog.

I headed to NYC to check out T-Mobile's new 3G data network. Doug and I pit the Samsung t819 against AT&T's LG Vu in a Mobile Web speed test. Doug and I run a speed test in Brooklyn: iPhone on EDGE vs Vu on 3G vs t819 on T-Mobile's new 3G network. Noah heads out to Brooklyn, NY and up to Doug's roof to check out AT&T Mobile TV on the LG Vu. This may be the coolest new handset of the year so far. LG's Vu is a touchscreen phone with a 2MP camera, media player, 3G data, and AT&T's new Mobile TV service. I unbox it and give a quick overview. There's a nice post from the other day on JK On the Run warning smartphone makers to "Wake up and smell the Applesauce." The gist of it is this: It doesn't matter whether or not Geeks find every feature they want in iPhone 3G, because it's so easy to use that people who have no idea what a smartphone is will be using it to surf the Web and check Email on the go. Nokia and Sony Ericsson can keep hardcore phone nerds excited with 8 megapixel cameras and dual-sliding form factors,... Apple may have disappointed some phone geeks by leaving a few badly wanted features off of the new iPhone 3G, but in typical Apple fashion they're looking past the specific desires of a few in order to set their sights squarely on luring more of the masses into the Cult of iPhone. Could Apple have added MMS messaging, stereo Bluetooth support, and a decent camera (with flash) to the new iPhone's redesign without sacrificing the grander scheme surrounding the App Store, enterprise... Wow, you uTubers love to ask questions. So many questions that I've gotta do a Part 1 and Part 2 (at least) of this month's mailbag ... And yes, KravvyKrav is my YouTube alias. And remember, the fastest way to get your questions answered is to ask them right here on PhoneDog. Showtymechef Asks:lg Voyager vs lg vuwitch cell is better i like them both. i think att as more ch to pick from. the att people say its all live tv and verizon say no i hope u... So there's a wee bit of a lull here in PhoneDog Land between the first wave of phones released after CTIA and the coming Summer onslaught of new handsets. iPhone 3G, Sprint Instinct, and HTC Touch Diamond should all be hitting the streets within the next few months, along with the Verizon Dare, BlackBerry Bold, and a few new T-Mobile handsets of interest. Until then, let's take a moment to look at the 5 best new cell phones to hit the market this Spring:1. LG Vu - AT&TI fear... Greetings from Milford, CT everyone. I'm on a road trip visiting family and friends here in the New Haven area, and also heading down to New York City for a few days. So the blog entries and videos will be a bit less frequent this week - but don't worry, I'm still working.
I've got the LG Vu with me so I can test out AT&T's Mobile TV service, and I've also got the Samsung t819 so I can check out T-Mobile's new 3G network. Both services are available in NYC but not yet... LG's Vu was maybe the most impressive new device shown at CTIA a month ago. While Samsung's Instinct grabbed the lion's share of the press (and not altogether undeservedly so), Vu quietly impressed me in a back-room briefing thanks to its responsive touchscreen, snappy menus, and light without feeling cheap candybar body.
Word on the street (well, Web), seems to be that the Vu CU920 has started showing up in AT&T stores a few days early. It's not official, and you...
