TOO Many dropped calls!

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Gail V on Friday, November 10, 2006
From: Concord, CA (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: Rollover minutes are great to have, customer service workers are nice.

Cons: They advertise the lowest dropped calls yet I have so many it is crazy. Plus, I have no clue as to how to get credit for the dropped calls. Any time you want to get a new phone you get hooked into a new two year contract!

Summary: I want to desperately DROP this carrier, yet if I do I will get charged 150.00 per line for early termination. I have constant static or poor reception even after upgrading my phone. My son who has the Razr which is a top of the line phone doesn't seem to have the same problems, yet is that right? I only bought that model for him as it had more services, never believing it would give him better reception! I am supposed to have combined billing with my land line phone service, internet service, yet in the year that I have had this service there have been three months that this hasn't happened which can lead to GREAT confusion in the long run. IF I want to pay just my cell bill on line, I have to log into a totally different site which isn't that user friendly. Some of these problems have come into play since the merger.

From: Ratliff City, OK (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Good Service, Good Signal in most area, Clear Calls

Cons: Weak Signal inside of house, Dropped calls while traveling

Summary: Overall I would have to say I like Cingular Service. I like in an Area where there are very few cellular carriers around. Cingular has coverage where most do not. Although it may not work everywhere. It works when I need it most.

Dropped calls

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Richard Soule on Tuesday, October 31, 2006
From: Fairview, OR (United States)
Experience: 10 Months
Pros: Rollover minutes

Cons: Dropped calls.

Summary: I see TV commercials about the least dropped calls from Cingular. So far, I haven't been so lucky. I find that my calls are dropped more frequently than when I was with T-Mobile. I made the switch in December 2005. I figured that I would be happier with all of the neat benefits that Cingular has to offer. I had to sign a two year contract. I now with that I would have stayed with T-Mobile. I have had nothing but trouble, dropped calls (ALL THE TIME) with Cingular. As soon as this contract is up, I plan to move forward and DROP Cingular. I am an unhappy customer.

No Dropped Calls

Overall Rating:
3.3 out of 5
By: William Falls on Monday, October 30, 2006
From: Buffalo, NY (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: Excellent signal strength, good rates and nice phone selection

Cons: In store sales clerks are unhelpful and will try to sell you shady deals

Summary: The only problem ive ever had with Cingular over the years, is the few times i've visited the in store locations. Usually after a visit id leave more confused and with less money than when i went in, but the service numbers have excellent service and they give you the straight facts without tryign to sell you extra service. Apart form the service thouhg ive always had good signal strength even in the more remote areas.

Cingular Go Wireless Review

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Linda Salley on Wednesday, October 25, 2006
From: Jonesville, NC (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Cingular has been very good about correcting any problems. Very good when we had a phone that quit working and then the replacement quit. Gave free overnight shipping. We have 4 phones and I appreciate the way the bill is broken down. After using a local service for about 8 years it is nice to not have surprise charges on the bill like the local service had.

Cons: There are some areas where your calls will always drop.

Summary: We will definitely stay with Cingular. They have have been prompt to respond when there is any problem. I also like being able to check and pay my bill online.

Cingular

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: Alyson Roemer on Tuesday, October 24, 2006
From: Fort Wayne, IN (United States)
Experience: 18 Months
Pros: No roaming
Mostly uninteruppted service

Cons: Voice echoing
Poor reception in places like Walmart
Confused customer service reps
Charges for incoming text messages

Summary: If I'm going out of town, my phone still gets great reception. The only big problems I have are if I'm in Walmart or other big stores. The most annoying this is that fairly often, if I make or receive a call, my voice will echo. The other person can hear it, but their voice does not echo. It echoes enough that I have to hang up and call them back, or have them call me back. Several other people I know with Cingular have this problem too. Also, there's been a several times I've had to call customer service, for different reasons, but about half the time, the reps don't seem to know what they're doing. Other times, the service is great and I don't have any problems. But more than once, I've had to be connected to half a dozen different people, sometimes the same person more than once, before I get my problem fixed. I didn't plan on sending many text messages when I got the phone, but I do use it sometimes. They charge 10 cents per message sent, but also 10 cents per message received. Several times I've gotten texts from people I didn't even know and was charged for them. I'm not going to make a big fuss over a few cents, but I still think it's stupid to be charged for incoming texts.

Hey, look what just came!  Thanks, Vanessa ;-)  Here are some photos of the black LG Lotus for Sprint.  The QWERTY board feels GREAT so far, as those bubbled chiclet-style keys make up for the relatively small size of the layout.  Sprint's new One Click UI is sort of cool and helpful and sort of overdone; I'll have to play with it more, but I hope it winds up being handier more often than it gets in the way.  And I'm...
