celluar one _ the nightmare after at&t wireless

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: richard shivers on Thursday, October 08, 2009
From: anchorage, AK (United States)
Experience: 1 Years
Pros: some say that their plans were cheaper

Cons: poor customer service, poor cellular service

Summary: when at&t got dropped got out of the Alaska market, the incompetents (aka: cellular one ) took over, for months there was nonexistant and/or poor customer service and this company fleeced their customers with
substandard service. Their TDMA cellular service got worse and worse, and they expected eveyone to sign a new 2 year contract when they decided to change to GSM service. Now were're back to AT&T again, and I'm waiting for AT&T to abandon this market again, and coerce their customers with another incompetent service provider.

AT&T screwed them up

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5

From: Olean, NY (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: They had top notch reception and customer service

Cons: phone selection was weak if you were looking for the exclusives Cingular was picking up at the time

Summary: AT&T ripped all that Cellular One had that was good out and replaced it with their cold mechanical gears and mega-corporate policies.
Sure I like the iPhone, but would go back to my Nokia 5165 if it meant I could have the level of service (and unlimited minutes) back again!

Summary: This company has the best service ive ever seen!!
Unlimited texting is only 15$ a month!!
The only down side is that free nights dont start til' 9-0-clock.
it is now a part of ATT which means you can get phones offered by AT&T too!!!
I love CellularONE

Worst Customer Service Ever!

Overall Rating:

From: Farrell, PA (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: The coverage is pretty good

Cons: When you have a problem with your phone they don't seem to care.

Summary: Since I bought a new KRZR in March, Cellone has been overcharging me for my text messages. Customer service won't get back to me or fix the problem. One person will tell me I can get a credit and the next will tell me I have to pay for it. HORRIBLE! Once they get your money they don't care!

Stop Counting Minutes

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Mindy Gall on Wednesday, July 25, 2007
From: Butler, PA (United States)

Pros: Cellular One is the only provider that offers totally unlimited minutes. Anytime, anywhere. I have never had problems with their service, only issues with equipment that are issues with all carriers. But even those were resolved and the customer service was extremely helpful throughout the process.

Cons: My kids would say the con is the lack of selection of the fancy phones. I disagree. I want a phone, not an MP3 or laptop. We have no landline, so the most important factor of the equipment is a reliable phone.

Summary: There are no carriers that offer unlimited minutes, anytime, except CellularOne. I have three phones (my 2 college kids and myself). Anyone with kids in college know there is no way to keep their calls to a minimum. CellularOne has been great. I have no problems at all. No plans to ever switch.

NOT WORTH IT

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: ash tos on Tuesday, July 24, 2007
From: cumberland, MD (United States)
Experience: 7 Months
Pros: they normally have good service, often in places other carriers do not provide service

Cons: constantly raising priaces to screw over customer, workers are to busy sitting to help customer

Summary: Cellular One is not worth it. At first it appeared as if I was getting a good deal. I went with the prepaid service. At first I was only charged for text messages I sent at a rate of 10 cents per message. They then changed it to 10 cents for anything I send or recieve. A few months later, the cost went to 15 cents incoming and outgoing messages. They also used to offer bonus amounts of minutes when you added more money to the phone. They have now taken these bouns minutes away because they "lowered" their rates. HA! I have yet to see this. Finally, our power went out not to long ago and when it came on a few seconds later, my phone lost service for a half an hour.

stop counting minutes

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5

Pros: the ONLY carrier that has unlimited minutes, anytime, anywhere! I have 2 children in college and these are our only phones. No surprises. Monthly bill is always the same! Never had issues with customer service that other carriers don't also have. Reception is great. Not so many fancy phones? I want a PHONE. their phones are high quality.

Cons: cellphones are simply not as good as landlines. It's a choice.

Summary: i recommend this carrier to the people whose children text, talk and surf the internet. Even calling Italy hasn't been a disaster! But if you need the iPhone, then this isn't for you.

Cellular One bytes!! I hate it !

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Aliscia Lindon on Monday, July 02, 2007
From: Mt. Sterling, KY (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: cant think of any..

Cons: Every single bit of their company..
They also have crappy phones, the best one they have is the krzr which is what I have, and also the Hp pda phone.

Summary: We have been with cellular one for appx. 3years now, and my parents wont switch companies. I got in some serious trouble because the company screwd up bigtime! I downloaded THREE ringtones, and one wouldn't transfer so i tried the try again option, and uhm.. well i did the try again a bunch! of times and it still wouldn't transfer so i gave up. When the bill came around, it charged me for EACH of the redos which was Ridiculous! So, for that one bill alone, they had charged me over 400$ in downloads alone!
Which was insane! I now no longer have internet on my phone, Thanks alot Cellular One!!

I HATE THIS SERVICE DON"T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Joline Nordhaugen on Tuesday, May 22, 2007
From: Green Bay, WI (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: None this company is nothing but awful

Cons: I hate this company. The customer service is awful, free nights don't start until 9, they charge you half the time for mobil to mobil calls, reception is the worst I have ever seen and we live in the middle of Green Bay!!!!

Summary: I strongly suggest to anyone who is looking into this company to reconsider. This is a terrible mistake that you will make and be stuck with for 2 years. They don't even really allow one year contracts anymore!!! Also it is 20 dollars a month to cut this service per month that is left on your contract so that is like 960 dollars if you have it one month and decide it's bad. They don't stand by their products, they give you the runaround more then anything. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER!!!!

Cellular One

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Robert Freitas on Tuesday, May 15, 2007
From: Huntsville, AL (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: Excellent signal. I recently moved to Alabama and I still get amazing signal everywhere I go in the state, even in places others do not get service. Signal in Alpena was perfect, no dropped calls, always at least 3 bars.

Cons: Billing people have problems getting things straight.

Summary: One problem I have had with Cellone is when they changed their txt messaging billing setup, and started charging for incoming and outgoing messages. They doubled the txts on my line, but forgot to read the shared txts to the other line I have, which caused some problems. The other was when I first got a second line, they failed to share all the features that were on the main line, including mobile to mobile, which made for expensive bills considering the other line was got just to be able to call me on mine.

Other then those two snafuu's, I have had no problems with them in the 4 years I have had them as a carrier. I just extended my contract with them up in Michigan even though I live in Alabama now because they have such great signal down here, and the prices are better then they are down here.
