Pros: Everything. 99$ plan, only way to go over is buyign ringtones and international calls =D

Cons: none.

Summary: I've had Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T,Verizon. And none come close to the customer service. They have their 99$ plans, but nothing gives you everything like Helio does. Great Phones. I have the Ocean I love it compared to my Sidekick LX =} . Love the service. Service EVERYWHERE. Myspace, Facebook. Its got it alll.

Drift

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Megan Saltenberger on Sunday, March 30, 2008
From: Arlington Heights, IL (United States)
Experience: 9 Months
Pros: It can take the memory card, unlike the Heat, the smaller version of this. Small, light, and has decent battery life.

Cons: Battery sometimes falls off in my pocket since there is no real case made for it.

Summary: I got the Drift because after three months my Heat phone wouldn't let me dial. I got this phone and was just as happy if not more so with the features that came with this phone. They rushed me out another phone and for unlimited text messaging, picture messaging and 500 minutes is a good deal. It also comes with unlimited GPS, internet and just about anything else you can think of. With insurance included I am still happy with the price of my phone.

HELIO IS FIN-OMENAL!!!!

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Doug Bulfin on Saturday, January 05, 2008
From: New Lenox, IL (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: Excellent Handsets, Great Plans, Extraordinary Coverage and Awesome Features!

Cons: Customer Service and Battery Life.

Summary: Let me start out by saying I have had every major wireless carrier, and am a very tech-savy person. I have switched service providers because I have been searching for a phone that does it all, and a phone company that provides services and features that meet my needs as a technology person. Helio has not only met my needs, but exceeded them with multiple features. What initially attracted me to Helio was the Ocean. Seeing a device with so many capabilities sparked my interest! I had heard about the device long before it's launch on multiple tech sites. The reviews it was getting were very good, and would clealy provide competition for the iPhone. A lot of people compare these two products, and most are firmly on either side. Now I am not here to get into an argument about which is better, however I will say that I was very excited about the iPhone, and was going to go back to ATT just to get it. Well when it came out it lacked features that I use/want (MMS,GPS,3G,Vid Rec etc.) Helio, however, offered these features on almost all of their handsets! While continuing to research the Ocean preparing to sign up I stumbled across the Samsung Fin. This device would pack all of the features of the Ocean into a thin (thinnest flip in U.S.) sleek, compact, sturdy, clamshell design! This got me excited, so I bought it! I have had this phone for about 3 months now, and I absolutely love it! The features are amazing, especially the GPS integration with Google maps. It's like having Google Earth on your phone, only it shows your exact location represented by a flashing blue dot! Which is completely free to use too! There are two other GPS apps on the phone: Garmin mobile and Buddy Beacon. Garmin costs $2.99 for 24 hours of use, and provides voice guided turn by turn directions just like a standard GPS device for a vehicle! This can be very helpful, but keep in mind the Google application also provides directions and tracks your location, however does not provide the voice guided turn by turn directions. The speedy 3G network works great when surfing the web, downloading music from the Helio music store, streaming videos and utilizing all the services Helio has to offer. When I signed up I was fortunate enough to be offered a promotional $99 "ALL-IN Plan" that gives me Unlimited Voice, Text and Data! Highly recommended for people like me that use their phone constantly! I do not have a landline and will never get or need one. The service itself has been nothing less than impressive! I have not had a single dropped call, and I talk a lot! I live in the suburbs of Chicago and commute downtown everyday for work. I was taken back when my phone actually rang when I was deep underground on the red line (subway)! This absolutely blew me away, as I take this train all the time and have never seen anyone on their phone, and mine actually rang as I was travelling underground through tunnels under the streets of Chicago! I was able to make a

Good Service

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: L Ketchens on Sunday, December 16, 2007
From: Chicago, IL (United States)
Experience: 16 Days
Pros: 3G Network, Full HTML, Clear Calls, Great Features

Cons: Sometimes slow

Summary: I have the Ocean, which is a great device. It has everything I wanted in a combination device/smartphone. The only problem I have is that it will not Bluetooth connect to my computer - it only connects to hands-free devices. Being able to connect to the computer without wires is a plus to me. The network is good. I can get calls in my home as well as around the city of Chicago. No problems thus far. Sometimes the Internet is a little slow. Other than that, I like the ability to search via the home page.

Helio has been awesome

Overall Rating:
4.7 out of 5
By: Charles Small on Wednesday, October 24, 2007
From: Worcester, MA (United States)
Experience: 9 Months
Pros: Great phones, good reception and great no-worries plans.

Cons: Phones all require an initial investment and authough the phones are cool people still dont recognize a helio as a high end device.

Summary: When I decided to get a phone for work I looked around a bit, knowing I would also be using the phone as a personal phone. I am a mobile engineer so I spend a lot of time on the road and make, and receive calls, in addition receiving text messages is a requirement for my job. I found the helio plans offered the easiest solution, EVERYTHING unlimited and you pick how many daytime minutes you want or go unlimited on that as well. Right now they've even got a promo where the unlimited minutes plan is like 100 bucks. I have the All-in 1500 which includes everything plus 1500 daytime minutes. "everything" includes unlimited mobile to mobile. The camera and video the device takes are both very decent. Overall I'm satisfied with the phone, and in spite of me dropping it over a dozen times since I've had it, it works like when I first bought it, and still looks cool and slides smoothly (I have the heat). I'd recommend Helio to someone who doesnt want to have to worry about how many texts or picture or video messages they receive. I've even used my phone to make last minute EBAY bids while on an out of state drive. Now THATS progress! :)

Excellent Starter Company with Potential

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: Laurel Burns on Wednesday, September 19, 2007
From: Madison, WI (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: The phones are very high tech for half of the carriers out today. The features are what sold me on the phone. The prices are great and comptitive with other carriers (better than some). Excellent customer service. I had a glich with the minutes system and they not only resolved it but gave me credits for the inconvenience while they troubleshooted the problem. I get reception in most of the boonies in south central wisconsin where i am the most.

Cons: Incomming calls are not free like my previous carrier (uscc) which increase price. Nights and weekends time starts at 901pm instead of 700pm. Phones are beautiful though when you handle them, they kinda give a feeling like they are going to break easy. ive only had mine for 2 months so we shall see how well that works out. Stronger signal strength in big buildings would be helpful. I went to the bowling alley down the road from my house and dont get reception in there but i do like 60 miles away

Summary: I would recommend this service to people on the go, away from home and love to have a neat pretty device to play with and keep in touch with the world. I just learned of their new family plans. Like I mentioned they are a newer carrier but the fact that they are growing so fast and keeping competitive with the market helps keep my confidence in this carrier. They evolve and adapt with the trends.

A+ Coverage A+ Customer Service

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Johnny Willards on Friday, September 14, 2007
From: Orange, CA (United States)
Experience: 10 Months
Pros: Coverage is outstanding due to using Verizon and Sprint cell towers. Customer service is amazing (read summary). Phones are great.

Cons: Price (read summary).

Summary: Customer service:

I have had service with Helio for 10 months. Initially I switched because the phones were really nice. Shortly after the switch I acquired a girlfriend who was on AT&T, formerly Cingular. She lives across the country and my phone bills were outrageous due to talk time. I was paying $175/mo for 4000 minutes just to keep up with our calls! I recently decided I was going to switch services because I couldn't afford the bill. I've been online for the past 4 day's searching for the best deals and for the best celluar provider. The decision came between AT&T and T-Mobile. AT&T because I would get free mobile-to-mobile with my girlfriend, and T-Mobile for their Fav 5 plan. As I was looking online for my account number to port my number to another service, I noticed that Helio offered a new plan. $119 unlimited anytime, including unlimited nights and weekends. This also includes unlimited text, and Internet. I called Helio after I saw this and spoke to an English speaking customer service rep within 2 minutes after calling. I told him my issues and he informed me that the $119 plan was a promotion for new members, but since they wanted my business they would offer it to me anyway.

The customer service has been outstanding every time I've called. They've taken money off bills when I've gone over, they've changed my plans to accomadate my usage without extending my contract, and always treated me with respect.

I've been with all major carriers except Verizon. AT&T had terrible customer service and mediocre reception. T-Mobile had decent customer service but mediocre reception. Sprint had terrible customer service, medium pricing, but pretty good reception/coverage. I have never used Verizon, however my friends who have verizon have no complaints and they seem to have the best reviews.

Since Helio uses Sprint and Verizon towers, the coverage is outstanding! I've used mine all over the country including Virgina, Key West, FL, Arizona, California, and driving across country. I've never had coverage problems.

One more thing... If you compare other carriers plans with all the benefits which Helio includes, you'll find it's almost the same price.

For the coverage and customer service you cannot beat Helio. These days it's nearly impossible to speak to someone on the phone who's nice, let alone speaks English. I would gladly pay the extra $15/mo for outstanding service.

Hope this helped!

substandard service

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Randall Tinfow on Monday, August 27, 2007
From: Fairfield, NJ (United States)
Experience: 1 Days
Pros: none.

Cons: they are not a prime, rather a reseller of airtime. They operate out of the realm of regulatory providers, seemingly targeting non-English speaking clientele who have less resources to battle when poor service is provided.

Summary: A Korean friend tried to bail out after the 3rd remanufactured phone wouldn't work. She'd spent more than 14 hours at stores and on the customer service line trying to resolve the issue. I advised her to terminate and fight the fees. This is a scumbag company.

Helio Cool Phones(s) Not So Hot Service.. (This is for the Ocean Phone)

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: Jason Brucker on Thursday, July 19, 2007
From: Plainfield, IL (United States)
Experience: 6 Days
Pros: I have gotten the Helio Ocean!! It can download pictures video's the works.. I can even use Aol and Yahoo or Msn Live instant messengers with ease along with it has a quertery key board. with being able to check my regualar email! Very slick design Very customizable...

Cons: My Ocean has a mind of its own sometimes and just turns itself on or off even with battery strengh really good.. I hope its just a bad battery or perhaps phone and they are not all like this.. I love the phone and its a lot of fun.. The voulme on the Music player could be a little louder.. Signal strengh in my house is about a one to two bars (could be stronger ) even though the company says its one of the best coverage areas via its website. If u want to store more then 20 songs or transfer a d

Summary: A Well designed phone that is a lot of fun even has a customized My Space page! ( to manage ur myspace from) I could go with better Signal Strengh and my phone not having a mind of its own Im sure they are not all like that... Has the most features for a phone of this type
