MetroPCS User Reviews
Pros: Unlimited EVERY THING most phones have SD Slots Mp3's on most phones Good Camera on most phones Cons: drop calls phones restart battery life sucks Best phones cost the most WEB is kinda slow but reasonable Customer Service Fails Summary: Well ive had metro for a yr now i had the Samsung Messenger and it recently broke:( But im deciding on getting the new M730 Metro's Secind touch screen phone nice and small. well lets get to the point i cant complain but they really have good prices on plans and they really tell the truth when they say unlimited. the phones sometimes give trouble so be prepared for that but thats not really an everyday thing but just be prepared...Customer Service Fails.....never can reach to a rep takes to long and to many calls to reach one.Drop calls yes thats for sure...but it really depends on your area..I always lost signal in the same place so i try to avoid that...other than that i cnat really complain...i just wished the phones were a little bit cheaper but hey the plans are amazing:) Pros: Price, Features, lack of contract! Cons: Full price on phones, initial investment can be shocking for a smartphone. Summary: I have been using Metro PCS for years, the service got much better, I like that they added many features and coverage without increasing in price, I actually just found out I could drop from the $45 plan to $40 plan and still maintain all the features I like, unlimited nationwide talk and text, unlimited web. Only problem, now I'm considering switching to the Samsung Finesse touchscreen smartphone, $350 for the phone itself, and $50 a month but no contract. I also call international so I added the $5 unlimited international calling, another unbelievable value. BTW, for those who complain about the cost to pay your bill, you can avoid the pay charge by paying on line or by giving them a credit card to automatically bill. 3 out of 4 people found this review helpful Pros: Unlimited calls, text, pic msg, internet,GPS, unlimited international calling, email, instant messaging, everything for $55+taxes Cons: Limited Coverage Summary: Guys MetroPCS is great and who cares if they charge $3 per payment, before I was paying $150 for less than half of what they offer; Now I have everything unlimited, with a touch screen handset for approximately $65 per month taxes and fees included...... Their service is great and yes coerage is a little bit "iffy" but I will never switch back to verizon !!!!! I am not willing to pay 3-5 times more just to have coverage in places where I dont even go. Yes phones are expensive but I am saving over $2000 per year on service.... 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful Pros: CHEAP PRICE FOR UNLIMITED SERVICE TXT, PIX, ONLINE DWN LOADS THEY shut ur service off for lack of payment to keep u from running up ur bill. Cons: very expensive phones that are out of date! you have to pay just to pay ur bill! sumtimes ur txt or calls dont go thru. Summary: pretty much like I always say "you get what u pay for" and since if u think about it we dont pay much so inturn we dont get much. I think in time thier service might improve a lil, and they are coming out with phones as they see fit too. overall thier service is ok for prepaid service. with virgin mobile it was much worse, sure they had current phones but the service sucked. although thier custtomer service was great! (Virgin mobile) gonna look for a better service soon! 3 out of 4 people found this review helpful Pros: ability to sustain till date with its cheating policies Cons: space not enough Summary: OH MY GOD ! Dont get trapped by Attractive rates. Never ever get this connection. Its a big risk. They change the call charges and plans at will without informing the customers . And They have the rudest Customer service guys i ever seen. I took the connection for the sake of unlimited international calling . one fine day they excluded all my calling countries from this plan - (note..) Without any announcement. suddenly one evening i cudnt call the numnbers i called on afternoon the same day. When i enquired the CS , They simpley replied "U cudn't have called these numbers in the past!" . I got first heart attack, and drew almost a fight with that guy. I called second time to escalate this , but i found that my number has been changed to INVALID after first fight. GREAT GUYS. The same number from which i am calling has been set to invalid in the CS databases. Awesome. Well am a coward . I confess. I should have called them for legal battle. But I dont have the guts. So posting it here. note: I waited 25 mins on hold to speak to the supervisor but he never appeared. 3 out of 5 people found this review helpful Pros: Cheap unlimited service, very affordable, better than my last phone service. Cons: Some areas no signal, like the tunnels. Summary: I had AT&T before i got metro PCS, i used to pay over $280. for three lines. It was not unlimitted i had certain amounts of minutes which sucked. Somehow i used to get charged for things i didn't use and their signal "BARS" was terrible. With Metro PCS i have unlimited talking, texting, web and my husband who has family in South America can text them for free. I personally love it, i can afford it and i'm not breaking my budget. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful Pros: Cheap and unlimited talk and text plans for individuals and families. Cons: Service is hit or miss. Customer Service is very poor. If you miss your payment due date by 1 day, your service is suspended. Summary: If its too good to be true, it really is. You really do get what you pay for with Metro. Which is not much at all. Cheap plans equal cheap service and coverage. I would get inconsistent coverage from place to place and lose service when entering homes and buildings. Be careful when buying a cell phone. Some are of obsolete technology and will not work in newly established Metro PCS coverage areas, but your are never told this by the sales person. Bottom line, it is decent service if you don't travel anywere, but they have a long way to go before they can call themselves a "real" cellular carrier. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful Pros: UNLIMITED EVERYTHING FOR A FRACTION OF THE PRICE YOU WILL PAY WITH OTHER CARRIERS & DID I MENTION NO HIDDEN FEES!!!! Cons: CHEAP PHONES(REFURBISHED -COUGH!!), LOUSY WEB BROWSING, IM SUCKS, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH IS JUST A MACHINE...OH AND HORRIBLE SERVICE Summary: I currently work for an exclusive MetroPCS store, and i sure have a lot to say...first of people are dumb..when you say UNLIMITED EVERYTHING they ask how many minutes?? and my favorite free nights and weekend??...OMG..second from a customers point of view..my phone sucks...i have thr R450 red..and umm its worse than my old sidekick lx..web browsing sucks..AIM is slow..and calls well i talk to myself half the time..when i go to Garden State mall i dont have freaking service..which is no biggie..i could still text..just switch your phones to AUTOMATIC..ive resorted to turning my sidekick lx back on for web and AIM for only $1 a day..which isnt bad since i have an employee line with Metro..i do have a few good things to say though..i love being able to talk with no worries(when i do talk)..texting isnt bad but its limited to 160 letters per text which is bad for a compulsive texter like me.. Overall its OK..not the best but what you pay is what you get..NY and Nj is a very tough market so they are coming out with good things.. 4 out of 7 people found this review helpful Pros: You don't have to worry about minutes. Cons: No Blackberries. Summary: We used to use AT&T GoPhones, but my use for business meant I was refilling substantially more than once a year. When I figured out I was paying AT&T more than $400 per year, getting unlimited service for $200 more didn't seem too bad. We have a second GoPhone which is used substantially less and gets buy costing $100 per year. When that one needs to be renewed, we will get rid of it and add a second Metro-PCS line which will only cost another $20 more than the yearly cost of that GoPhone. Since we don't travel much, the more limited coverage area is not an issue. Service in Los Angeles is quite good. I have only needed customer service once, when I activated the phone. I had the distinct impression he was reading from a prepared text. I got the Samsung SCHr450 phone, which, at $179 isn't cheap, works very well for voice, text, email, IM and browsing. Having a slide out QWERTY keyboard is very handy. 5 out of 7 people found this review helpful Pros: Unlimited Plan. I don't have to watch how much I talk. Cons: Lousy service, Drops calls all the time, Phones are a piece of junk. No real support anywhere Summary: I bought the service to save money. I consider myself a heavy user, but the service is pissing me off everyday. I don't care if you pay $50 or a $100 a month. Companies should give the best service or don't do business. This is what is wrong with corporations in America. They oversell their product. If you are a lite user (less than 1000 minutes a month) they might be good. But they need to improve a lot of key areas. (Web site, customer service, and the phones they offer). The phones are to expensive. 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful
