I've been playing around on Facebook this week, setting up a PhoneDog.com page and generally looking into ways to get the Dog out to more people via social networking. So when I read Engadget editor Ryan Block's recent post throwing his hat into the ring to head up Motorola's mobile phone division I figured what better way to assess his chances than by starting a Facebook group to support him (Facebook account required to view).
I've never met Ryan, and for all I know he kicks... I was at a party over the weekend and was asked which cell phone has the lowest SAR rating. The woman asked in the midst of four or five of us talking about iPhone rumors and the viability of mobile TV services. "I don't care about that stuff," she said. "I just want the phone that has the lowest SAR rating possible."

Aside from the $200 USD price tag, the F1's 2.2" touch sensitive device apparently isn't too shabby for a model car, um... Just a little over a week after I first saw it at CTIA, Motorola sent a review loaner of their new Z9 slider for AT&T. The Z9 is a 3G slider that takes some styling cues from the RAZR2 series, and features Moto's Synergy OS along with a 2MP camera with flash, AT&T Video Share compatibility, GPS with Navigation services, and access to the carrier's Cellular Video streaming video service (not to be confused with the newly unveiled AT&T live TV service).

AT&T made the rumor mongers feel smart today, announcing the availability of the Motorola Z9 handset. This slider phone features onboard GPS with AT&T's navigation service, which is now called AT&T Navigator. You'll also get quad-band GSM coverage with support for high speed data (3.6Mbps HSDPA), stereo Bluetooth, and microSD memory card expansion.
Sadly, the 2MP camera everyone thought would be coming on this phone has been traded in for a lesser 1.3MP model. ... Verizon Wireless announced three new handsets that the rumor mill has been expecting for a short while now. Details below - all three phones will be available in April. Hopefully, all three phones will also be at the VZW shindig tonight so I can get my mitts all over them and report back to you.
The Motorola Q9c is a business-focused version of the Q9m smartphone that made its way into VZW's lineup last year. Q9c will ship with Windows Mobile Standard 6, VZ Navigator, and... While Motorola dominates the US handset market with a 35% share, Nokia has long been the global leader when it comes to getting cell phones into customer's hands. Nokia's US share currently hovers just below 10%, and that's not because they make lousy phones. Nokia's strategy of focusing on GSM candybar-style handsets serves then well in Europe, where customers are used to buying unlocked devices and favor the candybar form factor, but here in the US it's a different game. ... How the mighty have fallen. After putting a RAZR in near every pocket they could find, Motorola has finally beaten its horse to death and today announced they will be splitting into two publicly traded companies, effectively spinning the failing mobile phone division off from the rest of business. MOTO CEO Gregory Brown tried to spin things this way, but I'm not sure who's buying it:

I have a Motorola V8 And I have recently gotten round to putting some music on it through Windowsn Media Player and it all works fine! The only thing I cant seem to get working and seriously I don't know about you guys, but this years CES was a little dissapointing. I mean come on the Motorola ROKR E8 wins the CES cellular award???
