Pros: None
Cons: No data coverage, no talk coverage, Poor customer service and uneducated staff.
Summary: I use Nextel service in Dayton Ohio and they have no coverage and if you want to use the web features you better be setting under a tower to get data connections. I have the push to talk feature which make no sense because to limit your self to one way communication using the same cell tower vs. 2 way communication so to me it makes no sense to have PTT feature on a cell phone. A phone book or speed dial would do the same quick connection but you would have 2 way communications. Trust me the Push to Talk (PTT) feature is marketing pitch. The company I work for all use the PTT feature and except for those individuals who thought it would be a good idea no one else uses it.
It’s just a marketing ploy. Customer service is bad. Even the individuals who set up our business account with Nextel will tell you that. My one experience with them resulted in numerous calls to find some one who could fix my problem only to be told that they are trying to expand data coverage to encompass my work area. I have been forced to use this thing for 3 years and still no consistent Data service. I have petitioned the power that be to move to a better service provider and we will be doing that in August.
