Pros: Walkie Talkie Great CoverageCons: Limited choice of phones Expensive plansSummary: Nextel is one of the major carriers right now. They are most popular because of their walkie talkie service. The walkie talkie service works just like a regualr set of walkie talkie, except you can contact anyone, doesn't matter how far they are. Nextel has great coverage, on highways sometimes you might have a weak signal but thats normal with all other carriers also. The limtied choice of phones really does down Nextel. You can not use another phone except the ones made by motorola or nextel. Nextels phones aren't GSM so you can't use them all over the world except the (i930). The plans are good but they are expensive. They do have plans with unlimited walkie talkie, and nights and weekends. Over all, this is a great service.

Pros: Clear sound, great graphics, easy to use, GPS, no drop calls, web capable. Cons: Plans are a little high. Summary: I could not get through the day without my nextel phone. It keeps me connected with my family and business in so many ways. I really like how you can keep up with family or business personal with GPS and keep track of minutes and calls on the internet nextel site. Also the walkie talkies on the phones is another great way to stay connected without using plans minutes.

Pros: Convenience, Two way featureCons: Dropped callsSummary: I make most of my calls in state and the dropped calls occur at least 3-5 times a week. This is very frustrating. In addition, there are several times in which I hear static on the line or can not hear the other person speaking. I have turned up the volume all the way to try and compensate for this problem. In addition, there are several times in which I am unable to understand what the other person is saying.

Pros: Direct access using Nextel's 2-way feature.Cons: The direct access is not always working and the phone seems to drop a lot of calls. Summary: After being a loyal Nextel customer for over 2 years, I have seen a sharp decline in customer service and phone service. The phone has more dropped calls & instances of certain features not being available. I am paying a considerable amount of money monthly for horrible service. When I call customer service and try to weigh the options, they are no help at all. I think Nextel service is too unpredictable and unreliable for the $.

Pros: I love the walkie talkieCons: We hardly have any service in this area and surroundings!Summary: They need a lot more towers here. This is the country and we have a hard time getting service and if you do get service you can't understand the other person!

Pros: good phones, good signal, good walkie talkieCons: too priceySummary: my phone was severly messed up, each time i tried to dial a number it would walkie talkie someone whom i didn't know. it wouldn't hold signal, and it would reset just sitting on the charger. i called nextel to just purchase a new phone. for $300.00 I could get an exact phone like i have, which i got for free to begin with. so i am stuck with a "crazy" phone. until i can afford the $300 to buy a new one.
