From New York NY (United States)
Experience: 8 Years
Pros: Been with Sprint for a long time. Never had an unusual problem.

Cons: Customer service improving, but can still be better. I usually have to be patient with the customer service reps and have to repeat myself about 3 times before they understand.

Summary: I never had an unusual problem with Sprint. I have friends that have phones with all the big networks (eg, AT&T, Verizon & T-Mobile), and the problems are the same with every company. Some of the problems that I hear people have with Sprint (which I don't experience) are;
1) They cut my phone off...
Well people, this happens when you don't pay your bill. Eventually it gets cut off. And keep in mind it's a computer that cuts you off. It can't tell if you're 1 cent or $100 over your spending limit (if you have one), you're just over your limit.

2) Why do new customers get a discount and existing customers don't get anything?
Not true. When you first sign up, you sign a two year agreement and get a discount. When the 2 years are done, you can sign another 2 year agreement and get another discount. Every 2 years, an existing customer can get a full discount just like a new customer. You can't take advantage of a discount, and then only one year later come into a store and start arguing that you've been a customer for 5 years, how come you don't get a (another) discount....

3) Their prices are too high.
In my opinion, they're prices are similar to the other carriers. And with the Simply Everything Plan, they are actually cheaper that the other carriers.

Overall, I'm happy with Sprint and wouldn't change. They were the first to have an all digital network. One of the firsts to introduce the web on a cell phone. The first company to offer a camera phone (Sanyo 5300. First camera phone in the US). The first with Push To Talk (Nextel). One of the first to offer 3G service and the first to offer 4G service. The most reliable data service (that's why Amazon uses Sprint data service for their Kindle e-books).

Why would I want to leave a company that almost leads the US industry in cellular technology?
