I love Sprint!

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Deeana Goets on Tuesday, February 26, 2008
From: Arlington Heights, ID (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: I had nothing but great customer service. Best rated plans out there period. (Free internet, picture mail, texting)

Cons: None

Summary: I am really confused about all these bad customer service reviews. Any other company I call, I have to wait at least 5-10 minutes. At Sprint it is less than a minute. Customer reps are very polite and they will work with you to make you happy. There are always going to be mistakes, billing or whatever, with any provider. You have to know how to work the system. I just got 70 dollars credit for too many 1 minute calls I accumulated last month. You just have to call them and ask what they can do for you - and you WILL get a deal.
I have been with US Cellular, T mobile and At&T and none compare. US Cellular are decades behind on their phones. T-Mobile - good plans but very bad reception and many dropped calls. At&T- overpriced. Try Sprint. It is free to cancel within 30 days. Look at their SERO plans (Google it). 1300 minutes (free everything -web,email, pictures, texting you name it) for 50 dollars a month. Try to find a deal like that anywhere else!

Sprint - inconsistent customer service

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: Russ Miller on Saturday, February 16, 2008
From: Kinston, NC (United States)
Experience: 6 Years
Pros: Great phones, improving service signal coverage, fast web access

Cons: inconsistent customer service

Summary: Have had Sprint service for 6 years. Initially service coverage in my rural area had numerous dead spots, but Sprint has steadily improved coverage and signal strength is currently excellent.

I changed my plan on each January for the last 4 years. Not any problems until this January 2008 change. Had billing error. Also experienced the very poor kind of customer service voiced by so many others in their reviews.

In contacting customer service, two successive times I was either inadvertently? disconnected or hung up on. But the third successive try to contact customer service was a charm. That particular customer service rep actually corrected the billing error (seemed to me that the first two customer service representatives did not know how to make the correction along with their indifference and insensitivity to the "Voice of the Customer".)

So, hopefully the next bill will be correct.

Apparently, the quality of customer service experience depends greatly upon the particular customer service representative handling the inquiry.

One final item regarding contract extension without informing the customer. My contract was extended for one year without my knowledge or informing by Sprint when my phone had to be replaced under an equipment warranty after one year service(warranty I had purchased on sign up from an independent Kiosk provider). I never was informed by Sprint, and found the contact extension a year later when checking on upgrading the replacement phone.

Overall Service

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Phil Silva on Saturday, February 16, 2008
From: Tacoma, WA (United States)
Experience: 9 Months
Pros: Tech Support is available and knowledgable. typically they are Friendly, seem educated and know what there talkin about

Cons: Needs to be more people oriented. can do more to help and understand wants and needs of the customer.

Summary: Personally Sprint isn't very people oriented at all, There goal should be to provide a great customer experience that wants peoples business and earns it understanding wants and needs of each customer to make an informed decision and provide a service that is better than the rest. Customer Satisfaction should be #1.

Truly one of the worst.

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Ray P on Friday, February 15, 2008
From: Los Angeles, CA (United States)
Experience: 7 Years
Pros: None

Cons: Everything

Summary: I have been a Sprint customer for the past seven years. I was a happy camper for the first five, now I'm fleeing them.

-Call quality is OK, coverage adequate
-Selection of phones is terrible. Nothing new or innovative at all
-The words customer service are no longer in their vocabulary
-Constant billing problems.
-Constant problems accessing my account online.
-No incentive to stay with them or upgrade my phone.
-All kinds of problems with my current handset and fees, fees, fees when I try to correct.

I am so disappointed in them.

Don't bother

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Ana Rita on Friday, January 25, 2008
From: Perth Amboy, NJ (United States)
Experience: 6 Years
Pros: few dropped calls

Cons: Terrible customer service

Summary: If you are considering getting sprint don't!!!! Their customer service is the worst I've ever encountered. Most of the rep centers aren't even locatated in the US, they put you on hold screw up your bill and tell you the charges are valid. If you ask to talk to a supervisor they put you on hold until you either give up or your arm falls off. They are unwilling to help you with mistakes they created. Their plans are expensive and full of hidden fees that I'm sure they come up with themselves, and god forbid you need to make changes on your plan. This company is a nightmare. Don't walk RUN away from it!!! Can't wait until my contract is up

Sprint Rocks

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Joe Public on Monday, January 14, 2008
From: St Joseph, MO (United States)
Experience: 8 Years
Pros: Never have had to use Customer Service... It just works all the time. Fastest wireless internet in the US.

Cons: None

Summary: I have used all of the big 3 and have had problems with being over charged with all except Sprint. Sprint's wireless internet rocks! It's the fastest around and they don't get wrapped around the axel when you use the connection to game or stream music and video... Don't try that with Verizon Wireless... They'll can you in a heartbeat!

Never Again!

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Michelle Mariner on Monday, January 14, 2008
From: Cudahy, WI (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: Decent service, few dropped calls.

Cons: Poor customer service, conflicting information from employees/managers, virtually impossible to get to speak with an actual person on the customer service line.

Summary: After realizing I had been paying an unauthorized charge for six months, which was noted on the bottom of page 6 of my 10 page bill, I attempted to get through to customer service to have the charges taken off. Long story short, after 4 WEEKS of documented attempts to straighten out the whole mess (attempts consisted of phone calls with "hold times" of over 40 minutes with no answer, emails, etc.) I was finally able to get a refund, only after writing numerous letters and emails to the corporate offices. Never again will I use Sprint and am counting the days until my contract expires!

The worst customer service

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Diana Ramirez on Saturday, January 12, 2008
From: modest, CA (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: I have a cell phone

Cons: I have to call customer service every month because my billing is wrong

Summary: From the first day I signed up with Sprint I have had nothing but problems. Every month I had to call customer service because my billing was always wrong. On my daughters cell phone I had all incoming and outgoing texts blocked, but it took like 4 months before the block went into effect. As soon as my contract is up, I am dusting Sprint!!!

Worst Customer Service Ever.

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Julian Torrey on Saturday, January 12, 2008
From: Salisbury, NC (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: admittedly good signal area.

Cons: Customer Service is only interested in sprint not the customer.

Summary: After Christmas I tried to upgrade my phone. I selected the wrong phone online and had to charge 218.00 on a credit card on Friday 12/28/07. could not get through to C. S. until Monday 12/31/07, when they told me that the phone was already shipped. It did not arrive be cause they did not put the full address on the shipping label. On 1/2/08 I called about the phone and they said it had been returned and I told them to cancel the order. They said OK then shipped the phone to me anyway. On 1/4/08 it arrived and I refused it. On 1/9/08 I called back to verified that they had received it back, but would not credit my credit card till next month. I ask to talk to a C. S. supervisor and he told me that he would take care if it and have the right phone shipped to me right away at the web page price of $49.99 + tax. The phone arrived on 1/11/08 and I cannot activate it because I am $100.99 over my $250.00 spending limit. After spending three hours on the phone with sprint about this I got nothing but "we're sorry about the mess up" and being forwarded to departments that are closed for the weekend.

It just gets worse by the day!

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Lori C. on Saturday, January 05, 2008
From: Brevard County, FL (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: I have a cell phone.

Cons: I have a cell phone with Sprint/Nextel

Summary: Against better judgment, signed a new contract last year to get a family plan. I had recently purchased a camera phone only to find out that it would not be compatible now that sprint merged with nextel. I would have gone with another carrier, but my husband's work carries them as well. Needless to say, I had to purchase hybrid phones which are not as good and the promise of better reception has been questionable at best.

As far as service, how about finding out that you are being charged $70 dollars because you were using the internet and did not know about the kilobyte charge instead of the flat charge you were supposed to get. Then, after paying for and fixing that issue, how about going to use the family finder feature after having the phone for a few months only to find out that I cannot sign up for it for another 2 weeks? When asked if I will be charged for using it... "Yes" of course, even though I can't use it? Are you joking? Apparently not.

So ready to get a new plan.
