Pros: Good internet, email service on my phone. Good coverage in my area, and I enjoy the 7pm nights.Cons: Sales associates and customer service have no clue. Summary: I've had Sprint for 5 years and am on my 4th phone - I've upgraded due to my needs. On my most recent contract change I was promised the world by the sales person - no activation fees, free phones (I have a 4 phone plan).. When I got my first bill - it included all of the activation fees and charged me for the phones with a different plan than the written contract. I called customer service, they offered to change some of it.. so I stated "So should I take this signed contract back to the salesperson and say PERFORM?" I then spoke about filing a complaint because Sprint was not holding up their end of the contract. They credited my account. I had to add internet and email to get my business email - now that was a challenge. I went to the store and they weren't even aware I could get email (even though the owner's manual stated that I could and to see a representative to get it set up), then I called customer service and got pushed up a couple of levels before someone actually understood that I could get email. Now, I try to avoid speaking with the sprint reps. When I have to, I go into the store and ask for it in writing.

Pros: They worked with me after I filed Chapter 13 on an old account with them.Cons: They worked with me after I filed Chapter 13 on an old account with them. They should have told me NO!Summary: Where should I start.....At the Sprint Store, of course. I went into a Sprint Store looking to reestablish service. (I had a very good experience the first time I was with Sprint.)
Everything seemed to go quite well at the store. I got everything I asked for(so I thought). I was able to keep my old phone and did not have to pay a deposit. One of the features I included on my plan was the international calling feature.
I was told at the store to wait 24 hours before using the international calling feature.(I have a fiancee living abroad.) I waited 48 hours and called my fiancee. The call went through quickly, it did not drop, and I could hear my fiancee talk. I called a couple of more times abroad with no problem. The third time I called, I could not get through.
That was when things went to heck in a handbasket. Over the next three months, my international calling feature was turned off and on, even my regular service was cut off and then on.(Sprint screwed up so much during this time, they credited my account and I did not have to pay anything)
I do not know how many countries I got when I called Customer Service. The people were either, rude, crude, or did not have a clue. After six months of this, I gave up.

Pros: My phone has worked almost everywhere I've needed itCons: When I've needed to resolve a problem, customer service is incompetent.Summary: In August, I moved from Missouri to Tennessee. As such, I needed a new local number. Aside from the fact that took nearly two hours in the local store, at least it worked. Then, I needed to change my automatic bank draft from my bank in Missouri to my new bank in Tennessee. I found out that was pretty much impossible to do. After eight hours on the phone with customer service, a trip to the local Sprint store (where I was told to call customer service) and a phone call to the corporate office in Kansas City, where I told them they could try and get money out of my old account, but there would be none there to get, I finally got someone to cancel my automatic bank draft. I now mail them a check, because I don't trust them should I ever move again.
Then, today, I thought I would upgrade my phone. According to the Sprint Web site, I am eligible for the "New to You" plan, where you get $150 credit toward the purchase of a new phone. I went to the local Sprint store, where I was told that was inaccurate. When I got my new phone number, I lost that opportunity and it would be June of 2008 before I could do that again! I told the guy he was wrong, because the Web site said I could. He told me I had to call customer service, because the store employees aren't allowed to make any changes to anyone's account, nor are they allowed to call customer service on the customer's behalf. I asked him if he could tell me when my contract expired. He told me it expires July 21. You can bet your bottom dollar that July 22, I will have a new cell phone provider. I told him that. He just shrugged his shoulders and said I could do whatever I wanted, he didn't care. I told him I hoped every Sprint employee dropped dead tomorrow, because the world would be a better place for it, and I left the store. I will never set foot in a Sprint store again, and if anyone reading this is a Sprint customer, I plead with you to get out of their evil grasp at your earliest opportunity.

Pros: Almost everything about their service.Cons: Customer Care- dont like the representative find a different one.Summary: If you sit down and compare pricing plans and data plan speed and rates there isnt a comparison with other companies. I tell ppl in this area about sprint but ppl in other cities i dont because i dont live there and dont know if sprint works great there like it does here. Also, every company wants to renew your contract when you switch plans unless you have struck a deal that doesnt include that. A few comments on other carries to think about, verizon- good coverage but nickel and dime you with plans, cingular- large mobile to mobile calling but over crowded network and slow data speeds, t-mobile - good pricing but not worth the poor coverage. Every company has its faults. If roaming is available use it, increases coverage, phones have a safety feature that tell you, "you are roaming, charges may apply" if included in your plan then turn the feature off and dont worry about it and go roaming. Everyone can listen to other ppl but the one that asks questions learn more. Some people are just to lazy to find the anwser.

Pros: limited coverage - poor signal strength, terrible customer service bordering on fraud.Cons: would not terminate service after contract term satisfied.Summary: I will NEVER sign up or recommend Sprint for anything. I try to disuade people from here. You can only call and WAIT, and after discussion and promises are made, NOTHING happens. Coverage was never good at our house despite promises of improvement and maps to the contrary.

Pros: My experience with Sprint is that they have very good phones, but that their coverage is spotty, at least in the Northeast, and in rural areas.Cons: Spotty coverage in the Northeast, especially in rural areas. Somewhat indifferent customer service.Summary: I left Sprint a few years ago and switched to Verizon, mostly because my partner was with Verizon and we could get free in-network calling. My experience with Sprint was that they had good phones, and good coverage in metropolitan areas, but not so good coverage in suburban and rural areas. In Massachusetts, their coverage west of 495 was pretty spotty. Customer service was also, for my tastes, a little indifferent.

Pros: If you know phones, then you'll know to get the best phones. Sprint so far has actually less dropped calls than Cingular or Verizon. Motorola's RazR and Samsung's line of PCS phones are awesome. Great in big cities.Cons: Needs an extension on its contract completely stating everything that's out of bounds. Bogus fees aren't stated in the contract and need to be addressed... so it requires thinking on your part. Also, Extending the service to near impossible locations that Cingular and Verizon both have. Last but not least, CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!Summary: While Sprint has many of the features anybody wants, the only thing you'll have to worry about is choosing the right phone and plan. With this, you can always change your plan to fit your bill. However, this is not always possible due to the holes and gaps in the contract. The fees are actually minimal towards state taxes, and there are always explanations... but bogus fees happen often to those who didn't choose right. The last gripe that Sprint has is Customer Service. Cingular is top notch at this area, but lacks in phone service. Sprint has excellent phones, which have (in my opinion) the best ranges, but their customer service (for lack of better terms) SUCKS. In the long run, I have saved money because I never have to worry about fees, extensive contracts, or minutes. I repeat: I NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MINUTES!!!
Now for the worst part of Sprint: CUSTOMER SERVICE. What other phone service has you wait in line forever because they have a clipboard list and limited staff? Charging blatantly large prices on people who don't even need that many minutes, and then making excuses to get out of anything. They don't replace broken phones, and if you cancel out, they'll charge another $150 to $300 to terminate you. Be aware of this. If you are an impatient person, don't choose Sprint. Impulsive buyers are also impulsive contract terminators... this is what Sprint is looking for.
The features are great, the price is normally right, and the phone service (in large metropolitan areas) is outstanding. Go with this if you have the aspect of smart buying. If you just need a regular phone to call people with, it's best to go with cingular and verizon especially if you're out in the open country. In the long run, I've saved money because I picked the right plan and I've never gone over my minutes. I don't get charged bogus fees, and if I do, I aggressively speak out. For the sophisticated, get Sprint. For the teenager with almost no paycheck, get Cingular.

Pros: As long as you do not use their service everything is great.Cons: Bogus billing for roaming.Summary: A few years ago, I was in Denver on business. Late one night I called my son, who lived in San Diego, about picking me up at the San Diego airport the next morning. I got on a flight, in Denver, early the next morning. On my 1 hour layover in Phoenix, I called my son again to let him know my flight would be on time. Upon arriving in San Diego, I called my son to find out where he was at. On my Sprint bill, the bill showed my phone calls in Denver, Phoenix, and San Diego, as being within their network. It also showed that I was roaming in Phoenix for the entire 24 hour period that day. For anyone who has a few brain cells functioning and who know a little about physics, my phone could not possible be in their network in 3 different cities on that day and be roaming in Phoenix that entire day. I called after every bill over a 6 month period. They always tried to come up with excuses of why this must be my problem but promised it would be looked into and corrected on the next bill. I finally wrote a letter detailing the problem, copied my flight itenerary, copied my invoice and mailed them to the FCC, the attorney general consumer fraud division, the US postal service mail fraud division, my congressman, senators, major news media, a total of 30-40 agencies. I named the CEO of Sprint as the person being responsible for the problem. About a month later, once he started receiving inquiries from the government agencies, the problem was solved. They never would tell me the name of the company who supposedly claimed I was roaming in the Phoenix area. They claimed they did not know. I guess I should start a company and send them bills for roaming charges since they appear to pay them without knowing any of the details.
Now to the latest. I just switched to a plan that allows free roaming as long as it does not go over my minutes. Sprint to Sprint roaming is free. Three invoices ago, I was charged roaming for calls that should have been free. After discussing this with them, they said it would be fixed. Two invoices ago, no correction and even more charges for roaming to the tune of $400.00 extra on my phone bill. Again they claimed it was a mistake and would be corrected. I told them I would not tolerate any more and would cancel my service if not corrected immediately. This invoice, they finally corrected the first set of charges. The 2nd set has not been corrected and I have additional problems with this invoice.
My solution to dealing with them. I will pay the cancellation fees. I told them to cancel all of my phones and broadband service with them. I am now searching for another provider. I do not deal well with liars and thieves. Having call centers in 3rd world countries who give bogus information does not releave them of responsibility for what these people tell the customers.
One another note: the broadband service to connect my laptop to their service has problems at times connecting.

Pros: Good coverage near large metropolitan areasCons: Everything elseSummary: Sprint is terrible. Customer "service" is abysmally poor (virtually non-existent), the billing statements are unintelligible and their practice of requiring a contract renewal with every change made to your plan is maddening. I have been on automatic payments for a year and not one month has gone by where the payment has not been collected by Sprint, necessitating a one-time payment for which they attempt to charge me $5. I am to the point where it will be worth it to me to pay the early termination fee because I have been wronged 100 too many times by this sinking ship of a company. I advise you to avoid Sprint at all costs.
