Well it’s hard to say, but I would bet on SunCom customers having to change their rate plans to one of T-Mobiles current calling options. This would be especially hard for those customers who currently enjoy the “Unlimited Calling” plan for only $69. There was also no mention if SunCom customers were going to have to replace their current phones and/or SIM cards to be compatible with T-Mobile carrier features like “MyFavs”. I guess only time will tell.

Pros: CheapCons: May service has never been as good as when I was with AT&T before I got dumped over to SUNCOM, but it was ok in the begining. However, over the 4 years that I have been with them it has gotten so bad that I can NEVER count on being able to make a call!!!!!!!!! I mean NEVER. I cannot understand what happened, but as I have read the reviews it seems that the same thing has happend to most of the other reviewers. Summary: My best advice after four years is STAY AWAY!

Pros: Low prices compared to other companies.Cons: Insurance can only be bought for a short period of time. Poor reception in one area.Summary: SunCom is a pretty fair company. Yes, you can only buy insurance for a short period of time. They tell you that right up front. Second, my husband and I did not have to renew a plan once our 2 yr. deal ended. The company has been very gracious and helpful.

Pros: I barely ever have a dropped call. They have never taken too much money from me. the unlimited calling plan.Cons: Crappy phones.Summary: I have had suncom for about 2 years now. maybe 3. and i haven't had a problem with it. the only thing i don't like about them is that their phones aren't very fancy. even though that doesn't really matter. but i want a phone with a full keyboard for texting. and they don't have nice cheap ones for that. i think they should get sidekicks like tmobile. other then that the service is great.

Pros: They had the best service for my first 4 years; when they had the slogan "We get it." Cons: Apparently they don't "get it" anymore. They let their towers die out and replaced good signals with "no signals." Dropped calls are now routine since they let many of their tower leases expire. I owned the first cell phone in this end of the state and this is the worst service and signal there has ever been here.Summary: For a few years SunCom was a dream with their 'truth in wireless billing" and the "unplan." Now they add on fake charges, extra charges, charge $40 for an extra line that they said would be $20, have lousy signal, always end up roaming outside my county; that is recent too. It's time for them to turn off the light. I'm switching to Verizon after 6 years with SunCom and they don't care. Good riddance, SunCom!!

Pros: Spiffy AdsCons: This doesn't qualify as a cellular phone network.Summary: I live in Chapel Hill, NC and I've used Suncom for 2 years. My contract expires in May and I will be switching to another company. SunCom has the best rates in town, no doubt because they have the worst -service- in town. I rarely have more than 3 bars of signal, which to SunCom is the minimum amount of signal required to even place a phone call. Anything less and you will receive a call failed message. Once you are actually lucky enough to make the call, you had better stay exactly where you are and talk as fast as possible, otherwise your signal may drop to (gasp) 2 bars, at which point you will still be able to hear the person on the other end speaking clearly, however they can no longer hear a word you say. Then of course, you receive a call failed message. Driving on the Interstate is the most fun. You get to watch your signal yo-yo between full signal, and none what-so-ever. It will do this every 10-20 seconds. Did I also mention that I have the blackberry internet service plan? I should mention I have a national coverage plan, and somehow get charged for -roaming- internet every month. For those of you who do not use blackberries: Once you activate BB internet, it is -always- connected until you cancel the service. I have yet to figure out how I am being charged roaming internet (on a national service plan) when I have no option to turn the internet on/off at will.
All I can say about SunCom is this: If you are tempted by their dirt cheap rates, please remember than you will still be paying far too much for what you get. I am honestly surprised that they are even allowed to sign people into a 2 year contract when they utterly fail in providing cellular service.
I think T-Mobile recently bought out SunCom so I'm not sure if its worth switching until they get everthing sorted out.
I know Suncom currently has a good unlimited calling plan for something like
I found this one at http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/smscell.htm
The major US cellular carriers use the 10_digit_number@cell.carrier_domain.com format for SMS to text capable cell phones,
I used to sell them thru Suncom wireless with absoulutely no returns or complaints with the 6126.
The only negative about the phone is the fact it doesn't come with any accessories- Micro SD
Hi Sammy
You have a couple of options:
The easiest way would be to have a friend add you to their account
Depending on where you live Alltel and SunCom wireless offer no contract month to
A friend of mine just got that phone. She really likes it, but I haven't had the opportunity to play around with it yet. I'm guessing it is similar to the D900, but with less features.
Still looks
You will not find very many reps willing to help a customer who did not buy the phone from them..
You are going to have to configure the phone for SMS messaging.
