Can't wait for contract to expire!

By: HEATHER HOLDREDGE on Tuesday, August 22, 2006
From WEAVERVILLE NC (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Not a whole lot

Cons: Everything about their service is bad.

Summary: I had to move and moved .2 miles from their tower. I have no reception at my home with a very young infant, so I had to get a landline phone. We had been using our cellphones as primary phones, so we pay nearly a hundred a month for them. I called CS and tried to see if I could lower the bill since I can no longer use the phone as a home phone. Although I have had service with them for 2 and 1/2 years, "There is nothing they can do". They also said that I could not cancel my contract unless I paid $200+ PER PHONELINE. So now I pay $95 a month for a total of about 200 minutes! This is only the latest problem. I have also had to call 7 times to get somebody else's name off the bill. For some reason, there was somebody else's name, along with my own, on my bill. Not to mention we were lied to when we originally signed a Suncom contract. When we called them on it, they said that agent had been fired for misleading several people and yet they would not let us end the contract. There are tons of dropped calls, reception is fine, but go a block and you have none, and forget calling tech support unless you have 45 minutes to wait to REPEATEDLY hear Harry Conick Jr. and the annoying Suncom jingle. I would NEVER recommend Suncom to anybody.
