Pros: Lower price.Cons: Bad service, bad customer service, unqualify technicianSummary: I have suncom for 1 1/2 years now and I always get bad service or no service at any time, any place. I contacted customer service, they passed me to tech. The tech wanted to see my phone and found nothing wrong. But I continous to have bad or no service. I have direct withdraw payment from my account so there is no payment involved. I applied another company for my wife and she always has good reception. There are many times, I sat besides my wife and her phone showed good reception and my showed no service available. When my contract over by next three months (2008), I will cancel Suncom service and switch to another company.

Pros: The UnplanCons: the worst cust service and deceitful misleading adsSummary: I've been w suncom for 3 yrs. Paid for insurance that they claimed they no longer have but it was only to cover me for 1yr although my contract was for two yrs. I thought after the 2yrs was up, I would be month to month. But noooo, it reactivates automatically if you have to replace one of their raggedy phones. I have 3 lines now and they told me that there's no way that i can add the insurance. the only time is up to 15 days after purchase. I was told to go on ebay or craigslist to get a replacement phone. Wouldn't u guess everybody is looking for a replacement suncom phone. I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I would never ever recommend Suncom not even to my worst enemy.

Pros: Cheap Rate PlansCons: Reception, continous dropped calls, roaming in parts of downtown Charleston. Can't get your phone serviced if it breaks, SUNCOM leaves that up to you to take care. The worst Customer Service with little education and coporate training. Their Supervisors could also use some training on how to talk to people who keep them employeedSummary: Been a member of SUNCOM for 11 years. Just recently cancelled my service b/c I couldn't handle the constant dropped calls, poor reception, and poor customer service. I changed my plan 3 months ago and knew I was under a new contract b/c of the rate plan change. However, they never told me that the termination fee was $200 per line. According to their "Information we want you to know" at the bottom of each plan, it stated, and I was told by the CS rep, that it would be $200. No where did I see or was told that it was "per line". Even after all the evidence, the Supervisor on the phone got rude and told me there wasn't anything to talk about and "that the information at the bottom of the webpage was purely for advertisement purposes". WHAT??? Typical SUNCOM.....false advertisement. Good Ridance! The best thing that could have happened was for T-Mobile to buy them. Of course, T-Mobile has no idea what a bunch of half-whit, rude Customer Service reps and outdated cell towers they just acquired. Hopefully, they will clean house once the deal is done. of course, don't expect any improvements to the service for some time. So buyer beware....do your home work and no matter what stay away from SUNCOM. Remember most of all, you get what you pay for and their cheap plans are appealing but the aggrevation that follows is simply not worth the $$ saved. The last 4 years, I have seen a company that went from at least on the outside appearing to care for it's customers to a company that can't even give you straight forward information. Then the customer is left picking up the pieces. Paying the money to get out the contract couldn't have been better.

Pros: stylish phonesCons: everything from customer service to dropped calls! Summary: I have only been with Suncom for a month or 2 now. I have 3 accounts, one for me and one for each of my daughters. Cell phone lovers beware, if make any changes to your service plan or phone...you have just started a new 2 year contract & please put insurance on your phone because if you don't, if anything happens to your phone you are screwed. I had my phone stolen about a week after I got it & it was too bad because I had to pay out of pocket for another phone ($179) plus shipping fees of $15. Then on top of all this...they sent me a phone with the sims cards not activated! I was told by the 1st rep I would have to take the phone to a suncom store and get it activated. This was some bull crap! I hung up one the idiot, called back and got another rep who activated the card over the phone. Calls are dropped frequently, customer service reps are very inpatient and rude & worst of all...I'm stuck with them as I have 3 accounts under my name. I can't wait to see if my long distance is any good when I go out of state in a few months. If it isn't....I will tell them to shoove it! and I will go back to Virgin Mobile. Point blank....SUNCOM SUCKS! STAY AWAY!

Pros: I'll make a note and get back to you in afew years. But Remember we are here for you...Cons: Where do I begin... Dropped calls, bad customer Service, Errors on invoices, Never a supervior around, Etc,. Summary: I moved my local Puerto Rico plan to a National plan when I moved to Chicago (May 15). Plan included 900 mins and free nights and wknds starting Thursdays. Simple plan for 59.00 a month with a two year contract. In June I called to make a payment for Mays invoice of 211.62 I thought ok I was charged roaming and I just changed my plan. But right after payment went through the rep mention that I have a balance of 452.00 for the next billing cycle.. I asked her how could this be? She mention that the bill should be on it's way. Well It's now Sept 19th and after calling and requesting the bill and disputes made and many people telling one thing after the other and that there is no supervisor available and there are no higherups and that I was over charged then I was not and we are still investigating and then the investigation is close and reopen and close and no you are not entitle to a refund.... I dont think you understand all that nor do I. That is how I feel when I speak to the agents. Any questions? Thanks for choosing SumCom wireless and remember we always here for you. Until we make errors and can't correct them.

Pros: Service, unplan, unlimited text to anyone!!!Cons: Some dropped calls (but who doesn't?)Summary: I have had Suncom for about two years and I have had minimal problems. I am currently paying 80.00 a month for unlimited talking and texting. Dropped calls are something that everyone has so I do not worry about those. I call the people back and appologize. Probelm solved.
In regards to the phones on the network, Sony Ericsson and Nokias seem to work the best. I have tried a Razr. Sucked. Samsung. Sucked. I currently have a SE w710 and I get full bars where no one else gets any. Customer service sometimes has trouble working with me personally so I just go to the store down the road. They are very nice and work very hard to fix my problems.
In order to write a review, i think you should have to experience more than just one service provider. I have tried the major ones and Suncom is far cheaper and better covered. For the money and service, NO ONE can beat Suncom.

Pros: None! Cons: Dropped calls, poor service, and dealers are closing stores due to too may complaints. Summary: I filed a claim to replace my phone becuase it was broken and I'm paying $6.00 per month for insurance. So, I filed the claim which was pretty easy, then the rep proceeds to tell me to take my phone into any Suncom store and they will replace the phone, well I searched for a Suncom store and found that they had all closed their doors. Their was not one location in the Cary/Apex/Durham area that was still open. The Suncom rep was still giving out numbers for these stores and they were disconnected. The closet store was one hour away and its closed on Sundays. More than 12 stores have closed in the Wake county area! I waited on line for 40 min with them and begged them to do this thru the mail , they said NO! I can't wait till this contract expires, I will go back to Alltel for good.

Pros: NoneCons: Poor coverage, dropped calls, horrible customer service and attitudeSummary: I was also one of the people who had ATT and was given no choice when it went to CIngular, then Suncom. Tons of dropped calls, no service at all where I have a second home, even though they put a store in less than 1/2 a mile away. Now refuse to let me cancel

Pros: stay away from Suncom Cons: Beware of Suncom Summary: I have not met ANYONE who has anything good to say about Suncom. I live in North Carolina, so I was with AT&T Wireless originally. When AT&T Wireless and Cingular merged, the Carolinas were bought by Suncom. During all this time, I was making my monthly

Pros: The best thing I can say about Suncom is that their service is crappyCons: at least 50% of all phone calls fail to connect or drop, regardless of location. rude and uncooperative customer service.Summary: Ever seen their recent ads to add a line for $10? Not without a new two year contract. What about replacing a phone? Sorry -- two more years. Adding minutes? Add two years. What about an "implied warranty of fitness for use" i.e., a cell phone should actually be able to make and receive phone calls? Sorry -- "It must be where you live... drive... too many trees... your phone may be broken... etc. etc. Nothing but excuses. I've called to complain, but never any action or even apologies.
I can't wait till it's over. The absolute worst cell phone company -- not a very high bar to begin with.
