As good as any other

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Jessy J on Tuesday, March 18, 2008
From: Gilbert, AZ (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Consistant customer service, competitive plans and phones

Cons: Sometimes my in-coming calls don't come through-just dead air, is it possible to have a good deal on smaller bundles?

Summary: While I didn't have many issues with my previous provider, Sprint, I did have to deal with the reps saying, "We are currently updating our system, please call back in 45 minutes." I'd call back in the said time, and I'd get the same message from the rep again and again. This happened to me while I was attempting to put a hold on my account for a month long trip out of the country. End result, I didn't get the hold placed on my account, and had to pay the full monthly service fee. I have not had that problem with T-Mobile. I've place 2 holds on my account, and it was so easy, I just called in and scheduled when I wanted my phone to go into suspend and when I wanted it to turn back on. I was delightfully surprised when the suspend actually went into effect and ended, just as scheduled, no worries. No calling in on the day I needed to have the susped start, who has time for that when catching a flight? Add to that the the ease that I had checking up on my account via Internet, it was wonderful not to have to worry about my phone!

Customer service has always been prompt and courteous. I was afraid of having issues when switching my phone number from Sprint to T-Mobile, but alas, no problems arose.

I have no Problems

Pros: I have been a T Mobile Costumer since 06 and have not had any problems with the sservice at all it was also better then some of the other carriers that i had used as company phones. My phone with Tmobile had better service then with those phones. It really depends on the type phone that you have.

Cons: having to get switched to different departments for certain phones because not everyone is able to help on all issues.

Summary: i enjoy t mobile overall and continue to renue my contract and buy new phones. i drive a truck cross country and have very few areas where my phone doesnt have service but that is all cell phone companies

No business sense

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Deborah Deborah on Sunday, March 09, 2008
From: Austin, TX (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: Great plan selections at good prices. Love the Fave 5/

Cons: Won't let you keep your number when you are switching from a family plan to an individual plan.

Summary: I have been with t-mobile for about 5 years on a family plan and have only sang the praises of t-mobile to friends and family. The plan was in my husbands name and my phone was a secondary number. Now we need separate plans and t-mobile tells me the only way I can keep the number I've had for 5 years is to change carriers, cancel the contract with the other carrier within the 14 day "buyers remorse" clause and come back to t-mobile bringing the number with me!? I don't think you need to be a Harvard Business School grad to see this does not make any business sense. I am now being forced by t-mobile to leave them as a customer and give my money to a competitor just to keep the phone number they gave me in the first place.
Now I need to decide if I want to swallow my pride, do it their way and come back to t-mobile or stay with the carrier I switch to.

Prepaid service tops

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: aarlene freeman on Sunday, February 24, 2008
From: studio city, CA (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: able to purchase 1000 minutes for $100--never worry about running out of time

Cons: high price per minute

Summary: For those of us who want a cell phone in the car for emergencies or just for a quick call, the prepaid plan is excellent. If you buy 1000 minutes first, then you may buy a much smaller amount (say, $15 or $25) next time and you have peace of mind PLUS cell phone convenience.

Hounded me to Switch

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Mary Gauden on Friday, February 22, 2008
From: Belle Vernon, PA (United States)
Experience: 1 Years
Pros: Nice Phones, Fav 5 is a good idea

Cons: Bad Cumoster service, Misleading, High Bills, Defective phones

Summary: I was at the mall and a T Mobile rep, In a booth hounded me when I came out of the stores, I finally stopped to talk to them, much to my husbands objections, He promised me and my son if we switched from the carrier we had.. Free phones , car chargers, cases, ect...We got NONE of this except the phone, even after several calls and attempts to receive what we were promised.I even personally went back to the mall 3 times and talked to the rep and Mgr. the case they were going to give me didnt even fit our phones... He also promised our bills would never be larger then what we were paying with the provider we had.. WRONG! At first the bills were ok, now Im paying $500. a month and have no idea why, they cant explain it, my bills show no over charges...

I had problems with both mine and my sons phones, they replaced them with the same phone 3times!! The last time, they told my son to take my sims card out, put it in his phone to trouble shoot his phone, when it was put back in my phone, I lost all my numbers, voice mails (some saved from my mom who passed away that i listend to every day and can never be replaced!! I was in tears) all texts, pics, Music, Videos... everything!! I was so upset. This time they gave us 2 new phones, After talking to 4 diff customer service preps and asking to talk to the Mgr. Which they would not do.. better ones and upgraded,I had probs with mine, they sent me another phone (the same) The phone they sent had no battery, backplate, sim card nothing, I had to add my old phone stuff and BUY another sims card, again i lost all my music, numbers, everything. Then got texts and letters constantly about sending the old phone back, which I did... T Mobile bites, Im locked in a 2 year contract that I will break, I have a little less then a year. They will add $500.00 and this will go on my credit, as im not paying, its been a hoax since I switched. This weekend Im going back to my old provider. I do not recommend T Mobile!!!. All you get are high bills, defective phones and even though customer service is nice, they do nothing to solve the problems!! It's an experience I could live without and the worst part is, I cancelled my home phone and cell phones are all my family has, right now I dont have one at all, Thank goodness my husband and daughter didn't switch!!

Customer Service Nightmare

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Denise Leitch on Sunday, February 17, 2008
From: Spring, TX (United States)
Experience: 8 Years
Pros: Good rate plan

Cons: Doesn't stand behind product or customer

Summary: Have been a customer for over 8 years. It is a nightmare to solve a problem. No less than 30 minutes on the phone regardless of the problem. CS reps are irritating and rehearsed. Had 5 Dash T-mobile brand phones in 1 year. Also paid for the monthly insurance. Although I had 5 defective phones, they would only replace the phone with the same brand. I signed a 2 year contract for the Dash and that was what I was stuck with. The last Dash lasted 3 weeks. The ear piece went out but so sorry, 1 year phone warranty had expired the day before I called. I could either get another Dash through the insurance ($100.00 deductible) or purchase another phone. So 5 phones in 1 year but the warranty only convered the first purchase. They did not care I maintained 3 plans with them for the past 8 years. I am currently seeking another service provider.

Poor customer service

Overall Rating:
2 out of 5
By: Laura Wall on Friday, February 01, 2008
From: Albuquerque, NM (United States)
Experience: 6 Years
Pros: Fairly good reception, cheap prices

Cons: Extremely poor customer service

Summary: For about a month, I received daily, sometimes more than once per day, calls from T-Mobile. They were trying to reach someone else, who had listed my T-mobile number as their home number, for collection on some bill or something. Their recorded message / caller asked for this person by name each time. I called them and told them they had the wrong number. They KEPT calling me. It took about 4 calls, each lasting 10-20 mins as I waited through the "push one for... hold..." logjam each time, to get this resolved. I requested that they send me a credit for my wasted time. Instead they gave me 75 free mins, which were totally useless since I never use my 1000 free minutes per month.

Since then I haven't had problems but their customer service is horrible. I dread the day when I have another problem.

Customer is always wrong in the event of a dispute

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Ed Wu on Saturday, January 26, 2008
From: Boston, MA (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Plans are moderately priced

Cons: They'll never budge in the event of a dispute

Summary: I've found that T-Mobile is relentless against giving in towards a customer in the event of a dispute. Try to dispute a charge with them, you'll see how quickly their tones change. I talked with three different representatives, and they all used the same language. I think they read from a script.

I was a T-Mobile customer for over 2 years. My monthly payment was automatically charged to my credit card. I canceled my credit card and updated that information with T-Mobile by the due date. They assessed a late fee against me, telling me that I shuold have spoken to a customer representative instead of merely updating my credit card information. I don't see why I should be charged a late fee if T-Mobile had my correct credit card number by the actual due date! I tried to dispute the late fee, but they won't budge, telling me that it was valid charge.

Their relentless urge to systematically maintain the customer is "wrong" is appauling. Switch to AT&T. Much easier to dispute charges. AT&T's representatives are more willing to work customers in order to resolve disputes.

Lousy service

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Debbie Chandler on Saturday, January 26, 2008
From: Huntsville, AL (United States)
Experience: 10 Years
Cons: Service reps are usually rude and uninformed

Summary: If you don't want a one or two year contract they aren't interested in you being a customer. Different service reps will tell you different things, they need more training so that you can get the same information from everyone you speak with.

I love them

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Shannalee Lewis on Thursday, January 24, 2008
From: Las Vegas, NV (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: Have a great plan for local and over seas calls

Cons: Not a huge selection of cell phones

Summary: I have been with this company for almost 5 years now. Whenever I call, no matter what time of day it is, there has always been someone with a friendly voice to greet me. Every issue that I have ever had, which hasn't been many, were always resolved in a quick and timely manner. I am so glad that I changed over when I did, and am very happy with this company.
