I've been a satisfied customer for 7 years.

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5

Experience: 7 Years
Pros: Plenty of U.S. Cellular stores in my area [Madison,WI] with good customer service both in-store and on the phone. Coverage is very good in the midwest. I think the phone plans available are fair. When I went to the west coast, coverage was also awesome.

Cons: US Cellular does not have access to the iphone or google phones [well-I don't think they do] - Blackberry is their smartphone. I don't really care as I use a more basic model.

Summary: I've had a lot of interactions with US Cellular over the years and they have been pleasant. Good coverage, good reception. No dropped calls. Good phones whether you go cheap or expensive.
I think if you're not sure which carrier to go with, ask people who live in your area. The most important to ongoing satisfaction: "do you get reception? and do the calls drop?" Having more minutes and a cooler phone won't count if you can't get calls to work.

Best Phone Company and Great customer service

Pros: great phones - hardly ever any problems not the newest phones but no problems they test the phones very well before launching them. great reception. fast internet on my BB. cheap plans get lots for my $$ friendly agent locations to help. battery swap. overage protection!

Cons: Store hours not long enough. EE charges even with a block on. have to pay activation fee when adding new line to existing family account. wish they had a smaller text package than the 4.95 250 text for those of us who only text less than 100 per month.

Summary: This company is great! I have the National 1000 plan and get national incoming calls any where in us along with national nights and weekends starting @7pm and where in us along with local m2m and only pay $79.99 for 3 phones on this plan. this gives me the freedom to use my phone while on travel and vacation! i also have a blackberry plan on my account. these prices have become cheaper since first coming out which is awesome! i have only had maybe one dropped call since i got there service maybe 2 tops. My internet is fast and i use it all the time while out of town or even shopping to look things up! battery swap is great i can swap my battery if mine is running slow at any us cell store! If i ever have any billing questions i call or stop into store and sales reps are always very friendly and nice helping me resolve any problems that i have. i have never had to have any of our phones sent out for warranty and they always last us at least till our contract is up sometimes even longer!

Dropped calls; shaky connections

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: Suze Fox on Saturday, January 02, 2010
From: Glenwood, IA (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: Friendly staff in the store

Cons: Lots of signal problems

Summary: Maybe it's because I live in a semi-rural area, but the signal on my phone is terrible. I've lost calls, and been unable to understand others on the phone (they're garbled). I signed on for a two-year contract, but am considering paying them the early fee to get out of it. I had far superior success with the supposedly inferior Tracfone. When I used that service, everything was crystal clear. Never a problem. What's that all about? I wanted to go with U.S. Cellular because I thought it would be better. Instead, it's far worse. It's a small town, so the people at the store are friendly. It's not their fault the service is spotty. But I'll never use this service again.

Award Winning Customer Service? Award for what, Worst Service?

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Jay Booras on Friday, December 04, 2009
From: Rock Island, IL (United States)
Experience: 6 Years
Pros: Free battery swap when yours is low. Decent minute packages.

Cons: Everything else.

Summary: From having my bill screwed up multiple times when moving from one area code to another - to being told I wasnt on the account when I went to pay my bill - US Cellular has shown me nothing but terrible customer service for years. I've been an authorized user on my account since it was opened - and they wouldnt even allow me to pay my bill in a corporate owned store - because I refused to show them my drivers license in order to pay it. Now tell me, why should I have to show ID to pay a bill? If someone else wants to go in and pay my phone bill - I dont care one bit. Go for it! That's absolutely ignorant. I've finally had enough of their terrible service, and will be paying their early termination fee in February and switching to AT&T. Iphone, here I come! No one's service can be as terrible as U.S. Cellular.

Great Company!!!

Pros: Amazing Customer service...when I walk through the door I feel welcomed. Nice associates. Great rates on plans. Free Battery swaps! Free incoming calls! Last time I went in the store, they told me that they have won JD Power and Associates Award 6 times in a row now for the best reception in the area. I will never change providers!

Cons: There are some "Agent" locations that aren't owned by US Cellular and don't seem to give the same level of service.

Summary: Refer to above

Pros: great signal in Chicago. Works indoors in many spots, unlike my AT&T and t-mobile phones. works in the subway via special arrangement.

Cons: older phones

Summary: Good signal around Chicago. Never had a problem roaming. Easy, helpful customer service. Decent prices. Reasonable rules. Easy month to month after contract term.

Pros: Never a billing issue, good network and good phones.

Cons: infrequent dropped calls.

Summary: By far biggest bang for the buck. I do think they need to removing texting fees, but still by far best value for money in Illinois and Wisconsin.

US cellular looks and sounds great....

Overall Rating:

By: ? ? on Friday, March 06, 2009
From: edmond, OK (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: can get signal just about ANYWHERE

Cons: price stinks, customer service is no help, neither are the ppl in the stores.

Summary: i switched from US cellular to a diff. phone company in december of '08 b.c we had been told if we combined our phones into a fam. plan that it would be cheaper and it wasnt. now we have smart phones instead of regular phones and we pay less... and no we are not on cricket... i never recieved my last bill and never got a call from them saying they were trying to contact me and they sent it to a collections agencie so now i have to pay $500 and i dont even know what for, i have tried many many times to get a bill sent to me so i know what i am paying for but i am always told to call back and no one is available and since it has been sent to collections i cant go to the store and have them print the bill for me... on a better note when i sent my phone in to be repaired when i first started with them they lost my phone and tried to charge me for a brand new phone!!! but i called the ppl over them and they ended up not making me pay and paying for the phone cover that was lost with it. but that is the only time i have ever been able to get anywhere with them... i even had to drive 20 minutes if i needed to talk to them despite the fact that i have a store literally right down the street from me b.c their employees were not trained enough to give me correct information... it really has turned into a train reck and i do not even recomend them to my enemies
