Pros: The best customer Service on the planet.Cons: Not open 24/7Summary: I would never switch companies from US cellular. I mean US cellular goes above and beyond for there customers, They are really great with customer privacy, not just let people who just say they should access acount, because they use a phone access and ruin accounts, and they also dont cancel customers contracts, just because they call into customer service like another company. If you can give a REAL bad example of customer service, and not blame them because you dont pay attention to your bill, your contract that you sign or because they just wont give you credits for all of your overage charges, because you were not responsible enough to watch your minutes. Then please tell us all.

Pros: good coverage throughout rural Maine. This is a major challenge and US Cellular (unfortunately) seems to be providing the best coverage.Cons: The customer service is so hideously, horribly bad that it is almost criminal.Summary: I had a plan for four years. I went to check out new phones. The sales staff realized I had been assigned to the wrong market in the beginning and so switched my plan. I pay over the phone every month, whatever the computer tells me to pay. Well, when the plan was switched to the correct market, apparently I owed $83 that the computer never told me. I started getting calls from a collection agency which could not tell me why I owed the money - they just wanted it paid. US Cellular customer service refused to tell me why I owed the money, but they kept blaming it on me (not the fact that they had switched me to a new market area to correct their own mistake)- they just kept putting me through to the collection agency. It was awful. They ended up not even picking up my calls, but just transferring them through directly to the collection agency. So I ended up paying $83 that I did not know why, just so I would not have a negative credit rating. Once I paid, the collection agency told me that US Cellular does that all the time (switch people's plans and not tell them there is money owed in between). They said most of their collections are because of that. I called US Cellular and they told me that their own collection agency was lying. Like I said - absolutely hideous customer service. I hate them.

Pros: Friendly staff, knowledge about the phones and services is excellent. Services are reasonably priced. Great reception in the back country - much better than Verizon, AT&T, and other major companies.Cons: Small Phone company = not in a lot of places. Phones not compatible to transfer files via bluetooth with other companies. Downloads require "Easyedge" which requires a monthly fee, airtime charges, plus the application download charge. Pay-as-you-go plans are also available if you want to download only a couple applications, but more expensive in the long run.Summary: US Cellular isn't a major phone company yet, so this means that a person who moves to a location where Verizon or other big phone companies are, US Cellular might not be, making the user switch over to a different service. Though the company is great in more remote places that other companies, being consolidated into certain areas makes it hard for a person who moves constantly to stay with the company very long.

Pros: Excellent reception. Only company that gives my area reception. I hear we're in a 'dead zone'.Cons: Very rude staff. Rebates promised were never honored. When questioned, one operator refused to answer our questions --- she just hung up on us. Extremely nasty. Summary: I am so disappointed in this company. We were promised $90.00 rebates for 3 phones we purchased in a share plan. That was 2 years ago and we are still waiting for the first dime to be sent. We just keep getting the run around. Unfortunately it is time to renew our contract. If there was another company we could use we would do it immediately. Unfortunately, we have to deal with these people. However do NOT expect a rebate from them, you probably will never get it.

Cons: Customer service Summary: Customer service was slow and not polite. They would bill outrageous amounts to my phone without mentioning that there was something I could do to lower the price. They only told me after I called numberous times and complained, only then did they fix the problem. I finally got out of my contract and am with T-Mobile. Please read my review of T-Mobile before making any decisions with U.S. Cellular!

Pros: Free Incoming Everything! Great Selection of Phones Friendly Instore & Phone Customer ServiceCons: Dont have a CON to say about them yet!Summary: I've only been a customer with them for 3 months now but i have to say they are an exceptional company. I was a little skeptical at first because when i told everyone i was gonna try US Cellular i got all kind of "don't do it's!". But so far so good i have not had ONE dropped call and my reception is almost ALWAYS on 4 bars. I would recommend them to anyone in the midwest. I wish they had the company in all 50 states i would recommend them to my family in other states!

Pros: No major problems in 11 years of personal service, good friendly customer service, good receptionCons: No new technology as far as the newest phones, they didn't have the razor for months!! No rollover minutes.Summary: I've been with US Cellular since they were Cell One, or basically 11 years. I've had friendly customer service, and good reception. I have maybe one dropped call every 2-3 years. I've had no real problems until I reduced my minutes at their recommendation, and proceded to go over my minutes by 650 minutes! I had no warning by them as to my minute usage, and they claimed absolutely no responsibility or leniency when I got a $400 bill.

Cons: Trial period policySummary: I have been with US Cellular more than ten years, and every two years I renew the contract for two additional years and get new dicounted phone with that this time I choose a phone which came out to be very bad by dropping calls and bad ring tone,I went back to change it as they promise that I have thirty days to do so but they did not let me change it because it is no longer new in the box with the plastic cover, and I am stuck with this cheep and poor quility phone for the next two years, this is what I call 0% CUSTOMER SATISFACTIONS GARANTEED.I advise if you have a choice to choose cellular combany stay away from this cheep one and their cheep cell phones too.

Pros: Phone was nice.Cons: Rob you blind, customer service rude and unwilling to fix problems Summary: After my plan ran up, I renewed my plan, but before doing so I told them that I would be moving to live in MA permanetly. I asked if I would get service and was told I would. However, after the 30 trial period was up, I was given a call telling me that I was not in a proper service area (though I had a nation wide plan). This was discovered only after I called and questioned why I was being charged almost double for my calls. And why I had been charged twice for my phone. The one stopped working after seven days (with no damgage done do it) and when I returned the phone for a new one, I was charged again on the bill. Despite the fact that the guy at the store said sometimes phones just stop working. I then recieved a call saying that since I was out of the service area (in MA) that my subscription would be terminated and I would be charged 150 dollars to do so. I called and spoke with Kathy out of the Waukesha Customer Service Center and was told that I had no options other than to pay the 150 dollars or return my phone (not to be reimbursed and having to pay shipping costs).
My service will be terminated in one month. I've been on the service for only 2 months and I spend 40 dollars on my phone. (Though they tried to charge me 80 dollars). Kathy, the woman I spoke to, was rude and unhelpful. She treatened me with legal action and stated that if I tried to press the matter, I would lose at my expense.
In short, stay away from US cellular at all costs or be victim to their rude customer service represenatives and their trickiery.
