Verizon Wireless News
Q. I have a few questions involving V CAST if you wouldn't mind answering them it would be much appreciated, i've never had a cellphone but now my parents are (finally!!!) considering letting me get one from Verizon.
can you get MP3s from VCAST? to watch stuff (such as Gossip Girl summaries) or listen to music on V CAST do you have to pay for them? and if so is it a monthly thing included in your phone bill or you pay for each thing you watch/listen to?can you sync your mp3s from iTunes... Another Internet speed test pitting four 3G phones against one another. The takeaway? 3G coverage is lousy in Oakland. Or ... Noah has no idea what he's doing. Cell phone junkies - or anyone who's spent any time in Europe, Korea, or Japan - will tell you that the U.S. cell phone market lags almost hopelessly behind its global counterparts. The American market is tightly controlled by the network operators, and half of US phones run on a proprietary standard incompatible with most of the world's networks (CDMA, used by Verizon and Sprint), a combination that's long resulted in a lack of options and innovations for U.S. consumers relative to... yfz450lrd from YouTube asks:
Would you say the dare is better than the iphone and the voyager? Thanks for your time, your reviews are awesome!Noah answers:
Thanks for the email and the kind words - glad you like the reviews.I'm going to do a review comparing Dare to iPhone and Voyager. It's hard to say which is "better" - it comes down to personal preferences and network coverage. Dare and Voyager run on Verizon which in many (not all) areas has better voice and data... Two of the Summer's hottest touchscreen phones go head to head. LG Dare for Verizon vs Samsung Instinct for Sprint: Who reigns supreme? Update: $129 after rebate with two-year contract, available Sunday July 13
The heat's getting to me, but I still managed to unbox the LG Chocolate 3 for Verizon Wireless. LG went from slider to flip for this latest Chocolate, and VZW threw in support for Rhapsody music subscriptions. Check it out ... and don't hold me accountable for my not-funny jokes. Nothing says Summer like Chocolate, right? I don't know about that, actually, but I'd take a Chocolate ice cream cone right about now (there's a mini heat wave here in the East Bay) ... At any rate, the UPS man showed up this morning with LG's new Chocolate 3 for Verizon and we've got pics here and a video on the way.
The new Chocolate eschews the slider thing in favor of a flip form factor, and features a click wheel and nice big external display with a nifty carousel menu to let... Ahh, tech blogs. An industry fueled by "spy shots," "anonymous tipsters," and "ninjas" willing to provide "leaks." What do you get when you mix two of the biggest tech blogs around with a few leaky ninjas? Absolutely contradictory reports on the quality of RIM's forthcoming BlackBerry Thunder. In the span of five minutes just now I read Crackberry's report (picked up by EngadgetMobile) on how Thunder's virtual QWERTY board is 100% awesome, followed by BoyGeniusReport's post... Rumor is that the Chocolate 3 will be available July 14th via Verizon.
The LG Chocolate 3 sports a new sleak clamshell design. Key features include media player, stereo Bluetooth, expandable memory card slot, Email, GPS, external music controls and streaming media.
Technology: CDMALikely Carrier: VerizonExpected: Rumor, July 14th
Been hankering for a VZW flip phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack, integrated FM transmitter, and cool baby blue finish? Thought so. Your wait is almost over, at least according to those crazy guys at PhoneArena. They're claiming the LG Chocolate 3 will be hitting Verizon Wireless next Monday the 14th for $129 after rebate on two-year contract.Chocolate 3 eschews the slider form factor of its predecessor in favor of a compact flip with 2.2" internal and 1.76" external... Buckle Up ... The touchscreen media phone Battle Royale is set to rage on. BlackBerrySync has posted some shots of the upcoming BlackBerry "Thunder" 9500, including a few looks at its media player and camera interface. Between the slick look of BlackBerry OS 4.7 and the rumors that the 360 x 480 touch display will be covered in glass a la iPhone, it looks like RIM's goin' for the gold with their first-ever touchscreen handheld.
Sorry for the bad Olympic pun there ... I was just... Q. Which device do you like better Noah, the Samsung Glyde or the LG Voyager?
A. Voyager is bigger to carry around but much easier to use. If you want a small, cool phone that you'll use mainly only for calls and texting, Glyde will work and I love how small it is. But if you plan to also use the Web and the VCAST music and video features, you might find Glyde frustrating - I know I did. Check 'em out in person, as I personally think Voyager is really too big to...
