For the love of food!

If you love food as much as I do, you will be ecstatic over the news that we can now receive recipes that are sent to us through our cell phones! Many food websites such as Epicurious, The Food Network and All recipes have made our lives just a little happier by setting up an area on their website where we can go and request specific recipes, make our shopping list and have food news sent to us through our cell phones. I went online just to give it a try. I signed on to Epicurious' website...

How young is too young for a cell phone?

I think I was 16 years old when I got my first cell phone.  The only reason that my parents got me the phone was because I had gotten my driver's license and they wanted me to have it for emergencies. My phone was very basic, no special ringtones or games for me to download, but it served it's purpose and made me feel like part of the "in crowd"!:) Kids are always going to want what their friends have and I believe that some cell phone providers are using that to market some of the new...

Experience: 7 Days
Pros: nice ring tones and retro style

Cons: not good out in subdivisions

Summary: I enjoy the color and vibrance of the phone. Its different and very retro but I think I would prefer if its preformance was a little better near my home.

GREAT PHONE FOR KIDS

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Hope Armstrong on Sunday, June 04, 2006
From: Eddy, TX (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Phone can only call & recieve calls from numbers that PARENTS progam in (all PIN protected). Smaller than normal phones so easier for little hands.

Cons: none

Summary: We bought this phone for our daughter on her 8th birthday, as she was always using mine to cal her friends. And it has been wonderful! we made her sign a "contract" to use only a certain amount of anytime minutes. She has only used to this date about 30 anytime a month. She calls when she is out with my mom even to let me know where she is going, lol.
I would never get her a normal cell at this age, but the fact that it can only send & recieve calls from numbers that I put in is GREAT! I chose the PIN number and only I can change it. I recommend this phone to any parent that wants to get their pre-teen one.

I am glad I got this phone for my son

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5

From: Murray, KY (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: After programming important contact numbers into the phone for our nine year old son, I sent him on his way and couldn't be happier. He seems to feel like we trust him and have given him more freedom just by being able to carry his own cellular phone. As you can tell from the photo there is not much to the phone, but it was set up to be that way!

Summary: Knowing that my son is able to contact us at any time is wonderful. The firefly is so convenient for younger children and should make every parent feel safe knowing their child has one.
