HTC PPC6800 Cell Phone User Reviews

Cons: it is a pocket pc first, phone second, not sure if thats really a con as you long as you know it upfront.

Summary: I have had the MotoQ, and Palm, so I have a little experience elsewhere and this is the best PPC/PDA.

I initially was turned onto this phone because it connects to WIFI. The advantage is if you want to really utilize this Pocket PC or just "play around" you will be able to do so with a faster connection when your at home, office, or any WIFI hot spot. Also when using the WIFI to do the internet and mail you do not tie up your phone line the whole time.

The e mail is exactly like my PC's windows outlook. When I went to check my mail just open it up and select the send and recieve, or you can set it to check every so often automatically. Its the push technology.


It is very compfortable to use, just turn it and slide the keyboard out. Now it holds like a game controller and wide enough to use your thumbs and type away.

The Qwerty keyboard has large keys, and because it hides away you get a large touch screen

The camera has a 2.0 mega pixel, takes good pictures, as with all digitals you have to know their weakness, outdoors is better than indoor, the flash wants to white the person out, typical with lower mega pixel cameras, BUT for a "Phone" its beyond just great.

Lots of free programs to download and use with WM5 (windows mobile 5), and it is very easy to syncronize your data with outlook contacts, outlook calander, the web favs, etc............also when syncronized open up your phone files and move them around or copy your files and pictures between the phone and your PC.

The phone side of PPC/PDA's is alittle less friendly, and I use thousands of minutes a month, its just not as quick as opening my old razr and dialing, so it takes a bit to get used to but very easy to use just click the green button, the screen gives you the dial pad, dialon the touch screen hit talk and your connected. I guess whats not as easy is being able to feel the keys since you dial on a flat touch screen.

Works easily with Bluetooth. The connection manager to control the internet, wifi, bluetooth etc.... is very easy. You can also easily beam information with bluetooth or the IR port. So you can go to the Kiosk to print pictures and beam them over- its great.

You can also easily use as a modem for your PC called tethering, using USB or bluetooth.

Of course on the "menu" you can find every program you need, but the buttons that HTC has selected on the phone are perfect when you do not want to fiddle with a menu, if you need the camera hit the button on the side!

Being in property management and being able to coordinate my spreadsheats, notices, and my calander make it a breeze to stay on the go.
