Don't buy this card

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: l stoner on Thursday, June 19, 2008
From: spring lake, MI (United States)
Experience: 7 Months
Pros: portability when it works

Cons: doesn't work majority of the time

Summary: Every time my vista updates it screws up being able to use this card. It treats it as a built in conextant modem, and the kyocera becomes a network adapter, software will not recognize the card. Have spent hours with alltel trying to fix, and it reverts to same problems....FRUSTRATING!!!!

Disconnects and Freeze's PC

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Jillian Robinson on Friday, January 18, 2008
From: Macomb, IL (United States)
Experience: 6 Weeks
Pros: I haven't really found any yet, It won't let me connect for long enough to find out.

Cons: Will not keep a connection, Disconnects every other website, Tech support pretty much told me that they didn't know what to do to fix it. If it does stay connected for more than three websites it freezes the computer until I remove the card. It was a waste of money.

Summary: I wish I could go back in time and NOT purchase this card!! Costs too much, and doesn't do anything for me!!

Works in the sticks

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: Dan Herod on Friday, November 30, 2007
From: Tennessee Colony, TX (United States)
Experience: 45 Days
Pros: small, compact, cool antenna

Cons: looks like it wouldn't take much abuse. Light flashes constantly!!

Summary: I live in the boonies. No highspeed internet for me. I tried the card because I have good Alltel phone service at my house. Even out here it is up to 5 times faster than dial up. If I can catch a DO signal it will get up to 2megs! I tried AT&T's card and I couldn't not make it work with vista...no probs with the Kyocera. I'm quite impressed.
