Really good

Overall Rating:
4.8 out of 5
By: Jake No on Monday, September 14, 2009
From: St. Louis, MO (United States)
Experience: 5 Weeks
Pros: Good design with easy texting

Cons: Voice quality isn't as high as I would like but it's a texting phone anyways

Summary: I've had an LG Banter for a month or so and I havnen't had any problems with it but I'm fairly careful with it and I don't bring it into a humid bathroom or something a retarded teenage girl would do. It's an excellent phone overall.

Awesome phone

Overall Rating:
4.8 out of 5
By: Matt Rogers on Tuesday, September 08, 2009
From: Peoria, IL (United States)
Experience: 2 Weeks
Pros: Sliding keyboard, overall performance.

Cons: Ringer volume. Screen easily smudged.

Summary: I was very nervous about this phone after reading the various horror stories regarding the software issues. But after checking with three different US Cellular stores, I finally found a store that carried it.

The 2 phones we bought were released recently and after about a week the software issues are non-existent. I love the looks and feel of the phone. Granted I am coming from a old base model phone, so I feel this is top of the line. We haven't yet downloaded any music so I can't comment on that. I also noticed reviewers complained about the camera, but I think it's awesome. The camera on my old phone was brutal and this is like a Nikon camera compared to that one. For calls and texting, it's awesome. Anything above that, I can't comment on.

The one downside is the ringer volume. I have it set on the loudest option on ring/vibrate and it could definitely be louder. But that's just me. I've already ordered the screen protector. This thing really smudges easily.

I'm sure techies out there will have problems with this phone, but I think it's great.

From: Greenville, NC (United States)
Experience: 28 Days
Pros: Nice features

Cons: It's a piece of crap!

Summary: It lasted less than 1 month. They said because it was taken in the bathroom it got too damp and it quit working. It's a piece of $150 crap. Stay away.

Lg Banter

Overall Rating:
1.8 out of 5
By: Jacob Roberts on Thursday, August 06, 2009
From: Oshkosh, WI (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Nice tools. Easy to use keyboard

Cons: Even if you have a picture messaging plan it wont let you send or receive pictures. Frezzing up in texts that restarts itself. Not reciving calls then getting the voicemail 2 days later. Vibrates for no reason at all. The sent gets stuck at around 50 or 60.

Summary: This phone is great for someone who is just going to use it for calls. But if you are doing anything else i reccomend getting a diffrent phone. Many problems if you are going to be texting.

LG Banter

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: Zack Austin on Sunday, June 07, 2009
From: Midland, MI (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Nice QWERTY, good display, easy use.

Cons: no video, no custom ring tones, no web.

Summary: I have owned an LG Banter from alltel since about a week after it came out. No major problems so far unlike the LG Scoop which most of us know that it was the last main Alltel qwerty phone that had many bugs that where never compleatly fixed. But overall I would give it a 7 out of 10. The design of the phone is nice it has a nice feel to it with many sleek curves. The qwerty has a preaty good lay out except they moved the 2 action keys (which where on the side of the scoops screen) down on to the key board which kind of jumbled up that top line on the qwerty keyboard which is only numbers. Other than that, it has a baisic chat style texting format a micro sd card slot, and this really blew my mind when I heard this but the Banter is capable of handling a 16gb. micro sd card which is alot for a baisic qwerty phone, it has a music player but strangely no web browser, oh well I can do without it. It preaty baisic on durability, ive droped mine twice and it has minor scratches but no internal problems.

Well thats all for my LG Banter review hope you like it.

Banter-missed calls and texts...

Overall Rating:
2.8 out of 5
By: Jen Means on Sunday, May 31, 2009
From: Gillette, WY (United States)
Experience: 8 Weeks
Pros: Great keyboard.

Cons: Not getting calls...

Summary: I'm on my SECOND Banter, I have gone round and round trying to figure out if it was the service or the phone, finally to discover it is the phone. I have missed MOST of my calls and texts. It will recognize that I have a text or voicemail when I go to use it again. It wont ring or anything. The last one did this and this one does too. I had a Scoop before this and it shut itself off all the time, I think I'm done with LG, I've never had this problem before and it's really frustrating when you are waiting for an important call and never get it, or when someone left a message when you missed that call and it doesn't let you know until 2 hours later.

Banter

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: S Dee on Tuesday, April 28, 2009
From: iowa, IA (United States)
Experience: 5 Days
Pros: Able to change face plates, nice lock feature, able to use it w/o sliding it open, nice music sound.

Cons: Slides open if I rest it on my shoulder...doesn't disconnect call, just slides open!

Summary: I have grown to like this phone a lot. I'm impressed with the fun features it has and the ease of figuring things out on it. I have been able to download tons of free ringtones, and set them as ringer IDs and have a different ID for texts. Also I love the alarm feature. It's a great phone so far!

LG Banter

Overall Rating:
3.2 out of 5
By: Ryan Nusbaum on Thursday, April 23, 2009
From: Pittsburg, KS (United States)
Experience: 13 Days
Pros: Nice full keyboard and screen. Camera takes nice pictures.

Cons: No video capture. No personalized ring tones unless you buy them.

Summary: Very nice phone. Disappointed when I found out I cant record videos or use personalized ring tones. Cant really send anything via blue tooth so that feature is pretty much pointless. Overall its a nice phone if you just want it for the full keyboard. Thinking of taking it back, I dont really want to be stuck with this phone for my whole 2 year contract.
