enV is ok

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: S S on Monday, July 07, 2008
From: Canton, OH (United States)
Experience: 7 Months
Pros: This phone has a great camera with many options! Keyboard is easy to use! Its pretty durable! Nice screens and color choices.

Cons: Its a little thick and sometimes freezes up on me. Its not the most reliable phone once you think about it. I like having the full keyboard but you have to have the phone open to use some of the features.

Summary: I like my enV but I would like to get a new phone. It has nice size keys that are very easy to type on but the phone is a little thick and I hate the big bump on the back where the camera is. I am on my 2nd one because they had to send me a replacement because my other one stopped working. I guess I am stuck with it until my contract is up next year. But I like the phone. It is pretty durable but scratches easily sometimes. I like having it though!

LOVING IT....BUT,....

Overall Rating:
4.8 out of 5
By: A. Scott on Sunday, December 30, 2007
From: Laurel, MD (United States)
Experience: 60 Days
Pros: This phone is great and very comfortable for texting. It's light, the screens are set up well, I love the ability to have video as screensavers, the navigator is great, etc. etc....

Cons: There are only two things that I can think of that I would REALLY like to have on this phone without having to step up to another model: 1. Task feature (storing and checking off tasks) and 2. a simple hook for a lanyard to prevent it from hitting the ground if I drop it.

Summary: Over-all its a really nice phone with a lot of convenient features. Just those two small additions, for me, and it would take it over the top!

ENV

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5
By: Jon Creasy on Saturday, November 17, 2007
From: Danville, PA (United States)
Experience: 3 Days
Pros: Great picture quality, records videos nice too. Easy to use! Overall just well put together.

Cons: The only real problem I have with it is not being able to set a sound as a ringtone, the only way you can is if you send it to yourself as a message then save it as a ringtone, but oh well. Other than that the battery life seems a little low before needing a recharge.

Summary: Nice pics, nice sound, nice design and easy to use. Overall I like this phone quite a bit it has some nice functions to it and only a couple insignificant flaws.

The Env rocks!

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Michael Price on Wednesday, July 18, 2007
From: Tucson, AZ (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: With a 2.0 megapixel camera, this phones takes the sharpest pictures I've ever seen on a phone. It has a high resolution screen and is very easy to use. I like that it has the option to use the regular number pad as well as a full key board.By the way the keyboard is awsome and feels good to type on.The volume for the music player is very good and suprised me with its superior sound quality.Text messaging is very easy and the full keyboard helps a lot. Reception and sound quality as well as clear

Summary: There are very few cons to this phone. Once in a while I find that the Env likes to call my friends without my permisson, or suddenly burst into song in my pocket. Most of the time this can all be avoided by key guard.

Good overall mutimedia phone.

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Thomas Leong on Thursday, July 12, 2007
From: Louisville, KY (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: Main screen size and stereo speakers - all nice for a phone of it's size.

Cons: Would've loved it if they extended the main screen to eliminate the black border (giving the screen a widescreen effect). Would love it if I could listen to music on the phone while playing games on the phone.

Summary: Overall experience with this phone has been a pleasant one. Although movies on the phone start to lag in an extreme fashion after about 30 minutes of viewing. Phone also still works fine despite me dropping it at least a hundred times. If your wanting to use the phones mp3 player during the day for at least a couple of hours, invest in the tank-looking extended battery. And I'm still waiting for a bluetooth ear piece that can stream music WIRELESSLY.

Pros: Love the keyboard, I am not a kid but now love to text. The graphics are great and it is just plain FUN.

Cons: I agree with everyone about the small screen on the front, but once I have speed dial with most contacts names that I use the most not a problem.

Summary: It is great and everyone should have one. But I love LG for everything so I am not suprised by it.

Pros: Good Camera, Great Organizer, Great Functions, Voice Recognization Great!

Cons: Not as professional as others.

Summary: This little phone is a real head turner. Its nice little keyboard makes writing text messages a breeze. This phone is great for teens looking to keep up on socializing with others, and keeping a schedule. The navigation function is ahead of its time. A truely great buy for anyone who needs an "all-in-one" phone!

Is Linux still a dirty word?

    Dirty Words; Linux?

With the G1, Linux takes its first starring role in the U.S. cellular handset market. For years, the OS has been the secret foundation of many a phone, gps device, ATM, in-flight movie player, web server, gadget, what have you. As far as much of the American public is concerned, Android represents the birth of Linux, if the collective "they" know that name at all. Linux has been indispensable in the research of world-class universities, in...

    Silverlight for Android?

    Silverlight/Android?

Just a quick bit of fodder for the Android rumor mill. Tech Radar has an Interview with Microsoft's Scott Guthrie regarding the possibility of their Silverlight product, which competes directly with Adobe's Flash, showing up on Android-powered phones. Considering Apple's decision to accommodate neither on the iPhone, Silverlight for Android could really heat up the touch-screen game. While certainly not an announcement of Microsoft's...
