As reported a few weeks ago, Alltel will launch the LG Glimmer handset on March 13. Glimmer is a sliderphone very reminiscent of the LG Shine, but the addition of a touchscreen, making it a very sexy and very innovative device, at least on paper.

A poster over at Howard Forums seems to have the scoop on a very hot looking new LG handset that may be an Alltel exclusive set to launch in mid-March. The Glimmer looks like a Shine with a touchscreen - it's a slider phone that goes one better than the LG Venus for VZW by adding a full touchscreen instead of Venus' menus-only touch sensitive area on the lower portion of the display.

Pros: Touch screen is fun for like a day, and it had good updates.Cons: Battery life sucked to say the least, froze sometimes and the lack of arrows was no fun.Summary: I wanted to throw it on the ground a couple of times..but considering how much I paid for it, I thought otherwise. Maybe its good for someone, but not me!
