Good touch screen Windows Mobile Phone

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: John Villanueva on Wednesday, June 03, 2009
From: 94520, CA (United States)
Experience: 3 Weeks
Pros: Responsive touch screen, good call quality, MP3, Windows Mobile (free apps), clear/crisp screen. Great camera shots in good lighting. 3.5mm audio jack. 3G connectivity. Good price range - $50 at the real life Buy More. =)

Cons: Windows Mobile, where a reboot is necessary. Not so great camera in not so good lighting. AT&T 3G is some places. Screen is smaller than I'm used to. It's reflective and a finger-print magnet.

Summary: All in all, it's a great phone. In some ways, better than iPhone. Mainly because I can send MMS and install all the apps that I had since the Cingular 8125 first came out.
No way I'm going to pay $199 for a 8GB phone, where I can 'upgrade' my memory card to 16GB down the road.
Also, since that I've been with a WM phone since time began, I dont have to 'relearn' a new phone's UI. Slight changes on 6.1 doesn't bother me.
Lot's of people complain about the battery life, but if you get into the habit of charging every night. It will last more than 12 hours on casual use, so it doesn't bother me.
Screen is clear and responsive, as much as one can expect on a resistive screen. It's just alittle smaller than I'm used to with the 8525 work horse that I had. I would love to have a 3.5 screen like the iPhone, but whatever. If I went with the iPhone, I'll be restricting myself to all that is Apple. So more good than bad in my opinion.
3G connectivity is better on the Incite than the 8525, but just. I think it's my relation to AT&T cell tower and my house. Works everywhere else.
Cell call drops is no more than usual, so it's all about location, location, location.
Not going to mention the MP3 stuff. It's all good, especially with the 3.5mm jack. I'm considering loosing my MP3 player all together.
If you are considering a WM phone, consider the LG Incite. Give it a couple of days or so before one starts to bash on it. There are more + than - in my opinion and experience on this phone. =)

Experience: 2 Months
Pros: cute size

Cons: practically everything...shuts itself off, dumps me into areas where there is apparently no exit, does not ring all the time, screen is flaky at best...

Summary: Really bad mistake on my part. For what I paid and what I got....it's the Ford Pinto of phones.

So cumbersome I returned it within the 30 days

Overall Rating:

From: newark, CA (United States)
Experience: 8 Days
Pros: Lots of features, wifi, bluetooth, Windows Mobile 6.1 (If you like) Good interface layout

Cons: Resistive Touch Screen is slow and takes far more effort to push. Latency in touch access, stylus dangles on string and you really need it to access the phone

Summary: After a week I decided it usable but I would kick myself for the next two years if I kept it. The touch screen latency and extra effort to access made it very cumbersome to use. The picture was very detailed and clear but touch was lousy. You end up deliberately stabbing out each key stroke and waiting a moment to make sure it took each time. Fast typing was a pain in either portrait or landscape mode. The tilt sensor would tend to favor landscape which got a bit frustrating if you let your hand droop while typing with the stylus. The stylus attaches on the phone by a string. You will need it too because the details and QWERTY keyboard are far too tiny to use by a regular sized finger with any accuracy. The QWERTY keyboard in landscape ate up 90% of the screen. Maybe it will not bother everyone but my 3 year old Dell Axim was far more easy and responsive.
Wifi was very good. Camera was decent but had some color issues and dim lighting would have been a real problem. It does have a 3.5mm headphone jack which was a plus. It had a FM radio built in but the reception was poor. The volume on the headphones was not loud enough for public transportation use. Max was mid-vol when you compare it to an ipod. I would not recommend that anyone get this phone.

LG Incite - -They Need To Work On It

Overall Rating:
1.8 out of 5

Experience: 7 Days
Pros: Its pretty and cool looking.

Cons: The stylus hangs independently from the phone, the touchscreen is unresponsive sometimes, AT&T's Mobile Backup is incompatible, the IPhone's Camera/Pix capabilities are superior, too many steps to perform a function, you have to dial to use voice dial!

Summary: I'm sending it back and purchasing an IPhone.

Hate it!

Overall Rating:
2.7 out of 5
By: Tien Lu on Friday, November 21, 2008
From: San Gabriel, CA (United States)
Experience: 2 Days
Pros: Great features such as wi-fi,camcorder, windows aps, push e-mail, etc. Its loaded with features

Cons: Touch screen sucks, its not user friendly like the Samsung eternity. It doesn't switch from wi-fi to 3g network easily like the Iphone. The screen and buttons are so small that they include a stylus.

Summary: I'm really trying to like this phone because the features comes closest to the iphone but its not happening. I'm not able to go on the internet with the phone. When I call tech support, they told me to switch it out with a new one which I did but it still doesn't work. The screen is puny and you can't effiently work with it unless you use the stylus. I can feel like I'm eventually going blind working with the phone. Its LG first smartphone and it shows. I'm going back to the Samsung eternity.
