LG Rumor Black Cell Phone
On the eve of Noah, Courtney, and camera man Doug heading for CTIA in Las Vegas, Noah filmed episode 3 of his new unlocked review series. This video highlights the happenings at Motorola this wee, the new Billshrink.com website, and what did the FedEx man just deliver for Noah to review next! Looking for a great messaging phone to use on the Sprint network? Well, Noah has found one in the LG Rumor. The bar style device come equipped with a slide out QWERTY keyboard that when opened, automatically switches the phone to messaging mode. Other key features include a 1.3 megapixel camera with 2x zoom, media player, and expandable memory card slot. Just in case you didn't do enough shopping on the good old Interweb at lunchtime today, there are plenty more deals to check out when you get home, like Sprint's CyberMonday giveaways. Props to the carrier for realizing there's very little that beats FREE, especially when it comes to gift-shopping. These deals are offered only for a limited time and are good for new activations and eligible upgrades with, of course, a 2-year contract. Palm... Q. Hey Noah - I’m looking for some information on the LG Rumor and Samsung Upstage. I’ve seen the videos and they provided me some information. I would like to know some more information on both phones and I’m curious on how texting works on the Upstage. If you can give me some information on the 2 phones that would be great. Thanks
A. Thanks for the message, and for watching the videos. UpStage is a pretty old model at this... A purported "internal Sprint document" is floating around the InterWeb, apparently originating from HowardForums. The image shows Sprint's supposed Q3 '08 New Product roadmap, and is highlighted by the mysterious "MP6950" by HTC, which could be a Touch Dual, Touch Diamond, or even a Touch Pro. The current HTC Touch for Sprint carries the MP6900 model number, so logic would dictate that the 6950 is some sort of successor - I'm... Yesterday Sprint announced business email access for non-PDA phones. Essentially this means that you can connect to your workplace email from a handful of non-smartphones, so long as your work runs Microsoft Exchange Server or IBM Lotus Notes. The new service debuted today on the Samsung Instinct (you've heard of that one, right?) and will be rolling out in the coming weeks on 11 more, including the Rumor by LG; Katana and Katana II by... Okay, here's the deal: If you want a question answered reasonably quickly, post it right here on PhoneDog.com as a comment to a blog post. All of the uTube vids are up here as individual entries, so you can comment away right here.
If you ask me a question via YouTube messaging, I'll probably get to it. But it'll take awhile. Nothing personal, I just respond to the PhoneDog messages and comments faster. And we... What’s Good: Compact, rugged design with full QWERTY keyboard; Easy to use; Auto-rotating display; Good SMS, IM, and Email integration
What’s Not Good: Limited functionality beyond voice calling and messaging; No Power Vision access makes for slow Web browsing; Reports of laggy software and keyboard issues (I encountered none); Weak camera
Bottom Line: Rumor is a basic candy bar phone with a focus on messaging, and in this regard it really... Summary: This phone works so good i love it i had it for 2 years and it did not die on me it worked like it was brand new and it still does i recommend this phone : it has a full keyboard, media player/musicplayer,camera videocamera, games, mesaging, web broswer and much more Pros: qwerty keyboard, easy to use Cons: durability, poor camera Summary: overall for 50 dollars under a 2 year contract this is a resonable phone to get. It has its pro's and cons though. I have had this phone for about a year now and it has broken about 4 times already. And it not like Dropped very high either. one time i dropped my lg rumor in the sink with no water in it and it just slid down it. As i pick it back up I notice my screen is completely white. So i recomend going out and buying a case which will cost you 20-30 dollars but it is worth in the long run so you dont have to go through all the hassle of getting your replacement lg rumor. On the upside though the rumor gives you a nice querty keyboard with chick lit style keys that are easy to use. And it is spaced out enough from the screen that your finger dont get jammed when you are trying to type letters on the top of the keyboard. Overall this is a good buy for $50 for a nice querty feature phone 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: amazing keyboard, awesome music player, and just about everything else Cons: breaks easily Summary: had this phone forever and i love it. it has only failed me once and that was because i dropped it. luckily the warranty was still not expired. excellent phone Pros: It has a nice keyboard that is spaced just right. Cons: the phone is just a bad one. bluetooth on any of the four i have had hasnit worked. it wont call people when i tell it too. Summary: if you drop the phone 1 foot onto the ground it wont work anymore. that is the reason i am looking for a phone now-only the outside keypad works. i have gone through 4 of these and its just not worth the time it has spent in repair. my screen also just went black and also it went to different colors one time. i really like LG product but this one just isnt worth it. 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful Summary: I've had the rumor for about 7 months now, and half the time its been in repair! it breaks in the weirdest ways. I'm on my 4th rumor because they have to keep sending me new ones. dont even think about putting it in your back pocket and sitting on it, the screen will crack! About my second month of having the phone the screen just went black! They dont even know what happened, but everytime i go to get it fixed, all the other people there have the rumor and are waiting to get theirs fixed too! i'm actually looking for a new phone right now, i just need to get rid of this phone! its ridiculous. i was recently told LG told my carrier that its one of the worst phones they've made. and i 100% agree! All LG Rumor Black user reviewsI have the first rumor and i dont mind it i just use it to text. and i was wondering if i should renew my contract to get the second one. i like the threaded texting style and the new layer of keys it adds to it. also the new design to it is pretty cool. thanks guys Dial The Following to:##33284# (##DEBUG#) Debugging##3282# (##DATA#) PCS Vision & Data ##2769737# (##BROWSER#) Browser Settings, also available under ##DATA###786# (##RTM#) Life Timers & Memory Reset##477# (##GPS#) GPSOne Settings & Tests##2342# (##CDG2#) CDG2 Menu (NAI setting here)Enable GPSOne:Dial - ##477# to enter GPS Menus
