LG Voyager-Titanium Cell Phone

It's the battle of the touchscreen messaging phones. Noah pits the ever-popular LG Voyager (Verizon) against the newcomer PCD Quickfire (AT&T) in a PhoneDog Dogfight. Installment #1 of the PhoneDog Mailbag. Noah answers your questions on Samsung Glyde, Apple iPhone 3G, LG Voyager Titanium, and new T-Mobile phones. Noah gets all over the new Voyager Titanium for Verizon. It's like the old Voyager, but in Titanium (not black), and with Visual Voicemail and Rhapsody support. Q. My phone plan is up in 2 weeks with Sprint. I'm really not sure which phone I should get I'm looking for a touchscreen phone with a keyboard. In your opinion what phone would be the best and it has to be from AT&T or Verizon. I thank you for taking the time to read this.
A. The HTC Touch Pro (Sprint/Verizon) or "Fuze" (AT&T) is a great touchscreen phone with a QWERTY board. It runs WindowsMobile, so it's a full... It's been a little while and the mailbag is overflowing! Let's get right to it:
John asks:Hey Noah, I am thinking of getting a new phone on the Verizon network. Currently I have a Samsung Alias. I want to get a phone that has stellar messaging capabilities, like good email support for mutliple accounts, twitter, IM (AIM), and facebook with good web browsing, also. I am thinking of getting a Blackberry Curve, what else do you suggest?... It's the maiden voyage of the PhoneDog Podcast! On episode one, Noah covers the first week of September in cell phone news: iPhone 3G woes, Google Android and Google Chrome, and T-Mobile's first official 3G phone. We also review iPhone 3G, Voyager Titanium, and the iMate Ultimates, and preview this week's CTIA Wireless show in San Francisco. Verizon sent me their new LG Voyager Titanium late last week and I played with it throughout the holiday weekend. Voyager Titanium is a sharp-looking phone and it basically works like the original, save the additions of Visual Voicemail and the Rhapsody music service. Visual Voicemail works pretty well on first blush, though you'll be paying a few bucks more on your VZW bill each month to use it.
Upgrades aside, my feelings... Verizon Wireless today launched the LG Voyager Titanium, a modest refresh to their flagship VCAST Messaging device. The new Voyager features support for VZW's new Visual Voicemail service and VCAST Music with Rhapsody for compatibility with Rhapsody's over the air music store. The new Voyager otherwise seems to be the same as the original,
featuring a clamshell design with an exterior touchscreen and interior
secondary display and... Pros: touch screen, easy-to-use keypad, able to make long videos, web browsing, visual voice-mail, mobile email, games, vz navigator, city id, mobile tv, lots of applications. Cons: ugly color, space bar not in the middle of the keypad, its very big, u cant pick up on what u were doing if u close it, bad battery life,2mm headphone jack, touchscreen not very responsive, camera not so good. Summary: well this is my second voyager phone, my first one i had the right hinge break. so that says a lot. uh i dont exactly love it. it has poor battery life, and its touchscreen but u cant use the touch screen while your using the keypad it would be better if it was a sliding phone but it is wat it is. the good things are well its a pretty good, non-confusing phone. i dont exactly love it, ive actually tried to get rid of it countless times, but itll get the job done. i wouldnt exactly recommend it with all the newer, better phones coming out, but if u just want a simple touchscrenn keypad phone then i recommend this one. Pros: pretty much everything is great . texting is a breeze with the keypad . any sound recorded by or sent to this phone can be a ringtone which i love . ive many original ringtones that ive made . also videos can be used as screensavers Cons: this is a terrible music phone . it rings from the inside so ringtones are hard to hear if the tone isnt already loud itself . any outside video put on the phone will have a big part of the bottom not even visible when in fullscreen mode . not a fan of the color so i got a cover for it . Summary: this is a great phone overall with some exceptions . terrible for internet use . no zoom for picture taking . sellectable video resolution is nice . many cool features . i like my voyager alot and definitly recomment it and thats the bottomline because STANCOLD said so Pros: everytihng is great Cons: battery sucks Summary: if u are thinking about getting this phone i would try it out and u will enjoy it 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: Qwerty Keyboard, better upgrade, responsive, and web browsing is great too. Cons: The only cons i hav with this phone is that the battery life is short and that you can type with full keyboard with the touch screen when you're sending text or picture message but you can do it when your web browsing and other things that require you to type. Summary: Overall this is a great phone and the only thing I would change about it is it's battery life and change it so that you can text with the full qwerty keyboard on the touchscreen. This is one great phone and i even wrote the review with this phone too. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: -touchscreen -keyboard -speakerphone Cons: -battery life! Summary: I love my LG Voyager! I love all the features! The touchscreen is amazing! The keyboard is big so its great for texting! The speakerphone is great I use it all the time! One thing I hate about it is the BATTERY LIFE!!! Overall I think everyone should get this phone! 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful All LG Voyager-Titanium user reviewsDharkness-
I would get the versa sooo if ur just hagin out not usin ur phone just take it out but when ur txting just snap it on or if somone sends a message like were u at u say somitin and the conversation is overs so u wouldn't need the snap on meesage part but the dare has no qwerty attchment or push up open cmpoibities so the voyager would beee a goo choice but get the env touch (voyager 2) or the versa and u willllllll be... they discontinued it becuase it was at the end of its sale life. nothing was wrong with it. i was gonna get it two days ago and they said it reached the end of its sale life. That's better than the $99 that they are asking for on their web site. If you are into the the Voyager, then I don't see anything wrong with the updated Touch. You should have a blast with that one.
Good luck =) i talked to them they don't make it any more i have to pay 50 dollars for a env touch It looks like it's discontinued. I don't see it in Verizon's website. You may want to contact them and ask if they would be able to give you a discount or not....depending on the status of your cell contract. but do you know if this phone has been discontined if it has i can get the enV touch free from verizon If you are looking for the same type of phone, there is the LG enV Touch. Essentially it's the Voyager 2, but Verizon/LG had to rename it Touch. Krav had made a video explaining all that in his review of the enV Touch here... http://www.phonedog.com/c...
Hope this helps =) i have been woundering has the lg voyager titanium been discontinued? becasue I have this phone and one of the hanges are broken so what phone would i get if i were to get a new phone Hey there. It's hard to tell you what to get, since everyone's tastes are different. All I can tell you is what my preferences are. I like the slim form factor of the Vu, since it seems more "pocketable." It would stink to have to dig it out a big phone everytime I want to launch some tunes. But I am a sucker for a full hardware QWERTY keyboard. (I'm on an iPhone now, and as much as I love it, I've gotta say that I curse the thing everytime I... If you're going to be doing a lot of texting just go with the voyager. Full QWERTY. Several friends have the voyager, only one has Vu. Vu is pretty much the GSM version of the Dare, And to Steakbunny, things are different in Canada :P Buying choicesWith new service This item is not being sold with a service plan by any online merchant.
