Solid basic phone

Overall Rating:
3.2 out of 5
By: Rin Foster on Sunday, February 17, 2008
From: Boston, MA (United States)
Experience: 6 Months
Pros: Nice shape, screen low resolution but bright and attractive, Durable, SIM card slot

Cons: Keys are acceptable but not the best. Quiet earpiece. Phone takes almost a minute to boot up. No web application

Summary: I liked the pill-shaped body and the screen is easy to read from a distance. I found it a bit hard to hear calls; the volume cannot be turned up very far.

Pros: it is not easy to break.

Cons: no camera, back scratches easily, and it dosn't have the net.

Summary: I got this phone this summer in 2006.I loved it at first, but it got old fast. I would't recommend getting it again if mine actually broke. The ringtones suck, and you can't get new one's.

motorola c139 review

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: michael boman on Wednesday, October 11, 2006
From: brockton, MA (United States)
Experience: 2 Weeks
Pros: small size, ease of use, good battery usage, cheap price

Cons: limited upgradability, no camera, no mp3

Summary: I bought my motorola c139 tracfone about 2 weeks ago for $20 with 20 units of usage and another 180 units with a referal and bonus units. the phone is a small candybar design and is cheap and simplstic. it has a few games and features basic security and text messaging as well as changable wall paper and ring tones ,screen savers and phonebook, call waiting, caller id,notepad, voicemail, stopwatch, calculator, currency converter, datebook and other extra and standard features. it has good battery usage and ok sound.the reception is good as far as I can tell and I have yet to experience any dropped calls.it uses a sim card and even though mine is configured as a tracfone can be bought unlocked to be used in any gsm phone provider. I would recommend this phone for a first or basic phone for someone on a budget.

By: Charlene Durbin on Friday, October 06, 2006
From: Naylor, MO (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: Color screen, easy to use.

Cons: Too small, menus a little confusing.

Summary: I like this phone except it is a little small for someone that has fat fingers. The menus are some times hard to figure out and I don't like that the display does not stay on so that I can see what time it is.

My experience with the C139

Overall Rating:
3.3 out of 5
By: Josh Barwick on Tuesday, September 26, 2006
From: Winchester, VA (United States)
Experience: 4 Weeks
Pros: MyMenu feature, keypress ringtone capability, backlight "lantern" feature.

Cons: Process of setting alarm

Summary: All in all, this is a solid phone. The MyMenu feature is especially handy. It creates shortcuts for regular menu items so you don't always have to go through all the various other menus just to find it.
They next Pro is the keypress ringtone capability. I'm sure most phones these days already have this, but it's still fun nonetheless. With it, you can create a ring tone by pressing the keys. One major advantage to this, is that you don't have to pay a charge for downloading tones. You can just find the notes and enter them in.
Now the niftiest of all the Pros; the backlight "lantern". In my opinion, it's kinda useless, but seeing as it doesn't necessarily "hurt" the phone, I thought it'd be good to mention it. All it does, is take everything off the screen, leaving it blank. So, all you have now is a clear, white screen. The brightness is virtually the same compared to the screen when it has the main menu or such on it.
For my one and only Con; the dang alarm. It's not even under the index of the instruction book on how to set it. I just happened to decide to read through it to know how to operate most everything on the phone, and found out how to set the alarm. Basically, you just make an event on your calendar, and say if you want the alarm to go off or not. It sounds pretty simple. But you have to go through lots of stuff in order to do all that.
But like I said, it's all in all a good phone. I would recommend it for sure.
