Motorola Krave-ZN4 Cell Phone
Noah sets out to unbox the Krave and winds up getting in depth with it. It's not the "Kravvy," but it is a touchscreen phone with VCast TV and a unique clear flip. Pros: V CAST, crisp widescreen, 3G, VZ Navigator, visual voice mail, neat touch-flip form factor. Cons: touch screen and flip are unpredictable at best, it feels strange against the cheek. The Motorola Krave ZN4 is the first of it's kind in the US; it's got a 2.8" touch screen with a clear flip that is also touch-sensitive. Users across the pond have seen this idea expressed in the Ming, and the touch-flip novelty is a key selling point for this... Carrier: VerizonRetail Price: $349 or via ebayContract Price:$149.99 or via Let's TalkHot Feature: "interactive touch flip."
The Motorola Krave ZN4 is a touch phone that sports and interactive flip cover. Key features include a 2.0 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, media player, live TV support, visual voicemail, microSD slot (up to 8GB), Haptic sensory feedback and a 3.5mm headset jack.
I'm "at" the Motorola Virtual Press Conference where they're launching the Krave ZN4 for Verizon. No surprise here, as this device was leaked far and wide. But it still sounds pretty interesting - it's a flip phone with a touchscreen and an "interactive flip." Apparently the clear plastic flip cover has touch controls so you can access frequently used functions without opening the device up.
Krave looks like it's going to... Motorla's MING series of Linux-based, touchscreen smartphones have been pretty popular overseas but never really seen the light of day here in the US. Sure, you could pick up an unlocked GSM MING via CompUSA or an importer, but without carrier backing most Americans had no idea that MING was a phone and not *just* a dynasty from their history books.
Looks like Verizon Wireless is aiming to change all of that with the introduction of... Pros: Very Nice design. I love the ability to use a traditionly three letters on a key text, or a full qwerty keyboard. And It is easy to work on it. Cons: I love the phone but, It sometimes freezes, but this happens very seldom now. I use to have problems with the texting sometimes. Somtimes when it isn't clean it work function like its suppose too. And I get frustrated when it sometimes stores you messages and you wont get them for days. Summary: Its a great phone. My advice is to work with. Sure it does have its bugs, but once you get use to it, its really to manuver around it. Also, you might want to keep it clean. If you get it, work with it and see how good it works for you. Pros: It looks cool. large display. good bluetooth service Cons: Freezes alot, texting is difficult when it doesnt register the right letter your typing in. and sometimes i wanna throw it against a wall Summary: i've had this phone since nov. 2008, i upgraded from my LG 3800. comparing the two the old one was better. This phone freezes every so often and the battery life isnt that great. The camera when i go to use it, sometimes says "unknown error" and i cant use it for a little while, i bought it for its original price of like 250ish and now its worth only 50 dollars and i know why Pros: built in GPS, vcast TV, QUERTY keyboard, nice touch screen, very noticable vibrate mode, good color screen, good sound from speaker, flip cover doubles as touch screen when closed Cons: could easily touch wrong keys in keyboard mode, Motorola belt clip scratches phone to death, belt clip forces user to holster phone backwards Summary: This phone works well for most apllications although internet can be a chore(not Motorola's fault), firmware updates really helped functionality. The number pad doesn't talk anymore when dialing, keyboard works better, phone stopped shutting off when answering calls(happened a few times). Overall a good phone, just keep it updated. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: Really good looking. Nice new style. Good phone for voice calls. Cons: The flip can get weary and squeaky. Texting can be difficult. Summary: This is a very nice phone, however, the cons that i have shown will keep me from ever recommeding this phone to anyone. Sorry, Motorola! 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: screen responsive touch excellent call quality simple interface Cons: bugs aplenty Summary: ive had this phone for a month or so and im on my second one, i love almost everything about it except that the damn thing has random errors and the voice button turns it off every now and then. i love to love it but there are notable problems. thankfully verizon was very gracious as far as quickly replacing my defective device. i love the phone and wouldnt choose a different one. as long as verizon gives me new ones when the one iv got fails, im happy as a clam with this model 1 out of 6 people found this review helpful All Motorola Krave-ZN4 user reviewsVoyager!
Dare is alright it has a nice touchscreen but ive heard its not for heavt txters, nither is the krave. its got a terrible touch screen. I like the glde but the QWERTY board is to small and the touch is worse than the krave and the update dosent help at all!
I love the voyager, great touch nice QWERTY board ive heard that opening the clamshell can be difficult one handed! so theres my opinon hope it helps!!! I really want one of these phones but cant decide@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP Which is just the better phone? new glyde if u want something cheap and has amazing quality. the voyager is HUGE and has the same touchscreen as the new glyde. the dare's touchscreen is'nt all that great and the krave's keyboard is hard to right on becuz of the flip getting in the way emma love the signature techy geeks rule is a really sick one I would have to say voyager for many aspects. The glyde's keyboard has just always seemed pretty cramped to me. I just think that the arrangement of the keys is poorly done. The motorolla krave ZN4 is a cool idea but if you turn the keyboard for landscape mode, the see through flip I find gets in the way. So now it comes down to the LG voyager and the LG Dare. Both are good phones and it all depends what you are... I have the Glyde and am happy with its touch screen, ever since the software upgrade. However, I plan on upgrading to the LG Dare for the simple fact that I will be able to play music while text messaging, surfing the web, etc... LG Dare also has the largest screen out of the phones you listed which improves web browsing. I am not a fan of a clamshell phone so I am bias against the Voyager. Besides, last time I compared the... my bad sorry voyager 2 should come out late september and probably isnt worth it though if you really want it you could wait my bad ther the motorola would be touch screen though not as big secondly voyager 2 hasnt even gone through fcc and i would know if there was a voyager 2 seriously take my word for it secondly dont do krave the inferno will replace it and have better specs personally i say go with the voyager Buying choicesWith new service With pre-paid service This item is not being sold with a pre-paid service service plan by any online merchant.
