Pros: everything

Summary: ok ok ok. so i just ordered this phone yesterday and i should be getting it here in a few days. they did a recall on them and fixed all the problems. but honestly i think this phone is amazing. the touchscrren is like any other touchscreen i have eer used. you just have to be exact on what you want to touch. no touchscreen is exact on what u want everytime. i tryed this phone and i tryed the iphone and and the touchsreen is actually better on the quickfire. you just have to be paitient with it. its a phone not a genius.

Pretty good

Overall Rating:
4.2 out of 5
By: Sam C on Friday, January 02, 2009
From: Portland, ME (United States)
Experience: 8 Days
Pros: very easy-to-use keyboard with nice layout, good sound quality

Cons: touch screen unresposive at times

Summary: The Quickfire is decent as a texting phone. The touch screen is unresponsive fairly often, but when the phone is open this is not an issue - there are up, down, left and right keys on the keyboard. I would still recommend this phone, I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Quickfire

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Cristina B on Tuesday, December 30, 2008
From: Ashburn, VA (United States)
Experience: 1 Weeks
Pros: keyboard, ease of use, screen locks, good camera with mirror, charm hook

Cons: iffy touchscreen, bad battery

Summary: I have had this phone for a week and love it. It definetly has pros and cons.

Pros:

-Keyboard-The keyboard makes texting easy. I text alot and this makes texting very easy. The keyboard is very responsive. The keys and fairly large and raised so they are easy to press. They have space in between them and it does not feel cramped or tight. This is definetly the best keyboard that I have texted on.

-Ease of Use-The phone is pretty straightforward it is hard to get used to at first. I adjusted to this phone very quickly.

-Camera- The camera has a mirror next to it for self-portraits. The camera is 1.3 mp. It is pretty good for a phone. I still carry around my digital camera though.

-Charm Hook- Many people overlook this feature. This phone has a place for a charm. This helps add a personal touch to the phone.

Cons:

-Touchscreen- This touchscreen is hard to describe. Some days it works perfectly and some days I think I am going to break the screen from hitting it. Most of the time I wind up having to navigate with the arrows on the keyboard. The most annoying part of this is that sometimes when I touch something it will go to a different application. This is very frustrating. I would not let the touchscreen keep you from getting this phone.

-Battery- The battery has three hours of talk time which is fair for a phone. By the end of the day, if I sent about 200-300 texts and a couple of phone calls the battery will be about 3/4ths gone. The battery is fine if you charge it everynight.

I would definitely recommend this phone to anybody. I understand why some people say to not get this phone but there are ways around the problems that are not that annoying. Even if you are not sure if you are going to get this phone, go to the store and check it out. If you are still not sure, get it and if you do not like it then return it. Please give this phone a try.

Best AT&T Phone

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Matthew Posey on Monday, December 15, 2008
From: Seymour, IN (United States)
Experience: 14 Days
Pros: great touch screen, great keyboard, great call quality

Cons: battery life if using camera alot

Summary: over all this is the best phone for texting that at&t has come out with. it is not a smart phone so people shouldn't expect it to do everything like an iphone. if you dont use the internet alot and your more into texting get it. its better than the matrix and propel. its no bigger than a voyager or any blackberry out there.

Don't bother

Overall Rating:

By: danielle clifford on Sunday, December 14, 2008
From: boston, MA (United States)
Experience: 10 Days
Pros: keypad

Cons: touchscreen is not reactive, short battery life

Summary: I love the design of this phone however the touchscreen is so terrible, you finally give up trying to access anything. The battery lasts a day, and this is without using it for much. Also very slow once you choose options, it takes it a long time to process.. Returning it today.

By: E Meredith on Friday, December 05, 2008
From: Des Moines, IA (United States)
Experience: 2 Days
Pros: Great size, style, keyboard; screen size is great

Cons: Touch screen lacks sensitivity

Summary: I purchased this for all of the options it offered and it's style/physical ease of use. However, the touch screen doesn't respond consistently..sometimes to the point I feel like I'm beating on the phone.
I plan on returning it..sad it doesn't meet the basics it promises

Pros: Great touchscreen interface, smooth sliding, keyboard is easy to use. Great call quality as well.

Cons: Recording sound seemed to be a little off. Otherwise, nothing wrong.

Summary: I absolutely love this phone. The touchscreen works very well and is easy to adjust to (coming from a regular push button phone). The keyboard has a good layout and is easy to use. Overall, I would definitely recommend this phone!

Spoiled by my Blackberry

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: K Stringfield on Sunday, April 13, 2008
From: Louisville, KY (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: Keyboard works for me; screen is clear and easy to read (when it's lit); size is convenient; seems pretty tough; recharges quickly

Cons: software lacks a lot; microphone is all but useless for voice dialing; back-light time-out options

Summary: I can't quite remember now why I didn't replace my stolen Blackberry with another one, but the Q seemed a good idea at the time. Honestly, it's very serviceable, very good-looking, fits nicely into my hands, pocket, side of purse and I've found the keyboard easy to use. initial synchronization with my Outlook contacts was quick and straightforward. Initial setup of Bluetooth was difficult due to poor instructions on finding the "Discover Me" mode on the Q. Although microphone is adequate for speakerphone purposes, it is totally inadequate for voice dialing and I'm still trying to find out if I can use some sort of voice tag for each contact to mitigate that. So far, no luck. Up until now, Blackberry was the only cell phone/PDA I had used and if something happens to this one, I'll probably go back. Seems sturdy enough. I've dropped it once or twice without ill effect and carry it around in my purse without a cover. also, there needs to be a longer-time choice between "never" and "60 seconds" for back-light time-out. Finally, Microsoft needs to take some basic lessons from RIM as to PDA software.

Not so great

Overall Rating:
2.8 out of 5
By: Sara Harris on Sunday, March 23, 2008
From: Indianapolis, IN (United States)
Experience: 20 Days
Pros: good keyboard (when keys don't stick), extended battery, easy Bluetooth sync, pictures

Cons: everything....keys stick, delays in all applications, difficult navigation of everything, text message organization, just a lot.

Summary: Hopefully I just received a random broken phone, but this phone was horrible. Turned it back in within 20 days. Everything froze, the h and m keys don't work on text, bluetooth connection would just drop, no direct camera key, email set up was impossible, backlight was never the same each time (no matter what setting you have it on), missed calls like crazy, horrible static during calls. Good thing was the battery (extended) lasts forever. Good speakerphone (just not on receiving end of convo).
