Motorola RAZR-V3 Silver Cell Phone
Since the days of the StarTac, Motorola has made its name on trend-setting clamshell handset design as much as it has on technical innovation. The V3 RAZR has continued this heritage of fashion-forward cell phone design, keeping Motorola on the tongue-tips of future first style mavens across the globe.
The RAZR line now includes a Verizon-compatible CDMA phone (the V3c) and two updated handsets not yet available in the United States: the V3i, featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera and (in some iterations) Apple's iTunes music software, and the V3x, a slightly thicker RAZR phone packing a 2MP camera amongst other bleeding edge goodies. The RAZR V3, however, is still the mainstay of Motorola's slim flip phones, and is now available in several color choices from both Cingular and T-Mobile.
Featuring a VGA camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and cellular modem functionality, the RAZR V3 offers functionality alongside its form. But is the V3 a formidable phone in today's marketplace, or is it truly an example of style over substance? Libertyville, Ill. 18 July 2006 - Motorola (NYSE:MOT) announced a major milestone today with the shipment of the 50 millionth Motorola RAZR V3 handset. By introducing the Motorola RAZR, the company once again raised the design benchmark for the industry and unleashed consumer frenzy for the ultra-sleek “must have” mobile handset.
To celebrate the 50-millionth-unit milestone, Motorola and U.S. Cellular are hosting a series of exciting events... The RAZR line now includes a Verizon-compatible CDMA phone (the V3c) and two updated handsets not yet available in the United States: the V3i,... Cast more in metal than plastic, the RAZR's anodized aluminum exterior, etched metal internal keypad, and glass screen covers lend a subtle heft to this extremely thin phone. One's first impression of the RAZR is just that: "It's so thin!" Soon after, the second impression sets in: "And it's so wide." Measuring 98mm wide x 53 mm high x 15 mm thick, the RAZR is in fact both an extremely thin and rather wide phone. This flip can rest in your front... The Motorola RAZR V'3's 0.3-megapixel (VGA) camera is activated by pressing the Camera Key located on the left exterior of the handset. Both the internal and external LCD displays can function as viewfinders, though the internal is by far the more accurate display. When the phone is open, left and right key presses manage brightness levels, while up and down movements on the navigational keypad control the 4X digital zoom. The RAZR V3's digital... The Cingular and T-Mobile versions of the Motorola RAZR V3 are both GSM quad-band (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) phones which can be used around the world, provided they are unlocked. Built on Motorola's standard user interface, a basic menu structure provides a no frills fundamental navigation structure.
Motorola rated the V3's 680 mAh Li-Ion battery at an average of 5.25 and 240 hours (10 days) of talk and standby times respectively. However,... Pros: Durable, nice photo quality, great sound quality for ringtones. Cons: Lack of memory card slot, short battery life. Summary: I've had this cell phone for 2 years and I would definitely recommend this for others. It's physically durable (I've dropped mine many times) and the visuals are great. The speaker allows you to buy great ringtones that sound great and the camera takes decent pictures and video. In the last few months of my two years with this phone, my main issue now is the battery life. If I don't charge it every night, it will be dead in 24 hours. If I text or use the alarm clock, it will drain the battery. Pros: great phone good call quality long lasting(Durable) external display is good Cons: battery life sucks camara could be better it is really slow Summary: I've had this phone for two years, and its been with me through a lot. I've dropped it in the pool. I'm surprised its still alive. anyway at the begining this phone was awesome, but then as time went by it got slower, and slower. I don't know if it is the network but I get dropped calls all the time. And the battery life is really bad know. I guess this phone was good in its glory days! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: This phone has a awesome screen. The camera is so so, a lot beter then other phones Cons: I have had two Motorola Razr phones in one year and both of my phones had the same prolem, they stop charging! Not only have I had this problem but three of my friends as well. I have one right now and I have to have the charger cord on a serten angel for it to charge. Summary: Other then the charging problem this is a really good phone. I really enjoy this phone but what good is a cell phone if you cant use it. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: Nice slim design. Decent reception. Great picture quality. Cons: Poor battery life. Screen freezes. Overall phone construction is very poor. Prone to hinge breaks. Summary: Very disapointed in general. Purchased (2) of these phones. Between my daughter and myself, the both of us have had a total of 6 phone replacements with this model. Issues ranging from hinges falling apart to freeze up resulting in lock down of the phones, along with keypad peel off. I've heard the newer motorola models have corrected some of these issues. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: Works as phone ok Bluetooth works including PC connection Cons: Can't connect with USB Summary: Phone is good larger screen as usual for razr but cannot connect via USB 2 out of 5 people found this review helpful All Motorola RAZR-V3 Silver user reviewsI have the Razor with and have always had a problem with short battery life. It really stinks. If you don't have a bluetooth and have never set one up then I really don't think it would be turned on. It is very true that bluetooth uses a lot of the battery life! Kind of stinks.Good Luck to you and your short lived battery. I wish they would change something to help out with this problem.Victor Garcia,VP of SalesCheap Voip dont know if i can be much help but my experienc with razr phones is that you have to clear your messages befor you are able to send or receive messages. i am not much of a tech guy so someone with hacking skills may be able to give you better tips as to minipulating the phones system to bypass this inconvienince i have found if that is your problem. i hope this helped good luck:) I have to wonder how you could get dust under the cover. Thanks for the information. Supposedly the V3c already comes with the LCD screen that has the slightly thicker gasket.
You can always take off the old screen and apply a thin bead of glue (removable type) or gasket sealer that also needs to be removable.
Just ask the guy at the hardware store for a removable sealer (Also it always helps to explain what you are trying to do) [8-] Are all RAZR models affected?
I forgot - here is the step by step guide to replacing the LCD cover.

You can buy the screen here -> http://cnn.cn/shop/motoro...
I have the same problem with my new Rizr. The phone is only 1 month old!
You would think this would be a warrenty item. If they won't replace the screen where can I get the new LCD screen for $5
Thanks YES the old dust under the screen issue is back again or should I say never went away.
The dust is getting under the LCD screen simply due to a gasket that is apparently too thin. Between having a thin gasket and static electricty it is enough to pull small dust particles past the gasket and annoy the hell out of the user everytime they use the phone.
You can order a new LCD display cover that has the improved gasket for about $5 +... Buying choicesWith new service This item is not being sold with a service plan by any online merchant.
