Stylish and easy to use

Overall Rating:
4.5 out of 5
By: Anthony Murillo on Wednesday, August 01, 2007
From: moreno valley, CA (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: I love how small the phone is, excellent screen for viewing pictures and video clips

Cons: I dont like the fact that there is no light or flash for the camera. What if I want to take a picture at night or when its dark? I cant! Wish the battery lasted a little longer.

Summary: I love the look and feel of the phone, its small and fits anywhere. The voice and viewing screen are excellent. My only problem was that there is no flash or light for the camera. I like to take pictures all the time and sometimes there is little or no light available. Also, the battery life is short. For a person like me thats always on the phone I feel like Im charging the phone a couple times a day

RAZR V3a bluetooth/alarm clock

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: DeLainy Box on Saturday, July 28, 2007
From: Liberal, KS (United States)
Experience: 10 Days
Pros: Great phone all around until bluetooth is connected to a computer or other source.

Cons: This phone is great until it is connected through bluetooth to my computer. After it is connected many features on the alarm clock page stop working---including the "new alarm" button and the exit button. The page just freezes and the only way to get it to stop that I know of so far is to have the Alltel agency reset it. I have had 3 different phones of this model do this.

Summary: If anyone has had this same problem and knows how to fix is pleast let me know!

Nice basic phone

Overall Rating:
2.2 out of 5
By: Paul Wilborn on Thursday, July 05, 2007
From: Keller, TX (United States)
Experience: 16 Months
Pros: Sound quality ok

Cons: Not very useful since display failed after about a year and 4 months.

Summary: Not a Motorola Fan, and phone was high dollar. Liked the size but buttons on the side constantly pushed by accident. Once the display failed it was just a basic phone with less features than my home phone

I am sending thei RAZR V3m back ASAP

Overall Rating:
2.8 out of 5
By: Brad Hennon on Friday, June 15, 2007
From: East Berlin, PA (United States)
Experience: 2 Days
Pros: good phone and thats it!

Cons: Not customizable. I am staring at verizon add screens all day and cant change them

Summary: I have had a Cingular V3 for two years now and have been 95% satisfied. I thought i would try Verizon since i get a weak signal at home with Cingular (thats the missing 5%). There are features that are locked out on the Verizon V3m that i have with the V3. I am unable to set the ringer to Vibe-then-Ring. I am unable to edit the menu buttons on the home page. There is an annoying red bar at the top and bottom of the screen that is not changeable and is taking up valuable screen real estate. The speakerphone takes 3 seconds to enable or disable via the side button and guess what? Can't change that either. You dont realize how much of a conversation you miss in 3 seconds until you get this phone. The Middle menu button that i have on the V3 is not on this "newer" V3m.

I will be sending this one back.

Junk Phones

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: J Less on Thursday, May 31, 2007
From: Lewiston, ME (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Pros: Easy texting, good clarity speakers, great pictures

Cons: No life on the batteries, bluetooth keeps crashing results in new phone going for my third phone tommorow, Phone loses connection to network droped calls and undeliverable text messages. The signal bars are consantly jumping from 0 to four bars

Summary: Here's the kicker I want to get a different phone but Verizon says I can only replace my phone with the same phone I'm going on my third phone and I got my first RAZR v3m on March 31st 2007 It's gonna be a long two years and a lot of fighting...

Good Phone, Lacks Some Basic Capabilities

Overall Rating:
3.5 out of 5
By: Jessica (Enduser) on Monday, May 28, 2007
From: Lincoln, NE (United States)
Experience: 14 Months
Pros: Pretty clear signal, slimness, takes pretty decent amount of abuse without breaking, clean aesthetics (etched keypad is lovely), beautifully clear polyphonic ringtones.

Cons: Does not stay in back pocket, slippery, too wide for petite hands, memory gets low relatively quickly, batteries can be problematic, no flash, no "always-on" outside display

Summary: I owned the V3c for a year before losing it. During the first month, I replaced two batteries which caused my RAZR to freeze up and turn unresponsive; this indicated to me that OEM batteries may be problematic.

While I enjoyed the slimness of this phone, it proved problematic because I would stick it in my back pocket automatically, and thanks to its sleek aluminum case, as soon as I sat down, it would slip out and I was consistently losing it. I do think the phone is a bit too wide for smaller hands but for the average/older American who is used to a land-line handset, they love it. The camera LACKS a flash and picture quality is only so-so. Voice activated dialing is a blessing, as is the quick sync with Motorola Bluetooth headsets, but you have to keep them relatively close together - as in, your back pocket to your headset. Ringers are loud and polyphonic, so your MP3 ringtones will sound great. Displays are colorful, large, and clear, but the outside display will *not* stay on, you must push a button to see what time it is, which is a pain. Even cheaper phones tell you time and date from the outside display, as well as have a flash, but this stupid, expensive phone does not. I had a gimpy Audiovox 8910 from 2005 that had better features than my 2006 RAZR.

I do have raves about the durability though. I have dropped my V3c on the pavement, watched it fall and bounce across parking lots, and down wooden flights of stairs. My phone was chipped and dented on all the plastic parts, but it still managed to work. While I don't recommend being abusive, because your phone might not take it, it's good to know that it is pretty durable.

Battery life gets steadily worse over time, at most you will usually get 1 day of standby by the time you hit a year of use. Memory is pretty low, and if you have a penchant for text messaging, video, ringtones, or pictures, expect it to fill up relatively quickly. There are no included accessories to this phone beside the home charger, so expect to pony it up for car charger, wrist strap, and cases/belt clips.

V3c and V3m prices on auction sites (eBay) are pretty comparable, if you are a media-heavy person, pay extra and pick up a V3m, which has expandable memory up to 1 GB. That is the one improved aspect of the V3m over the V3c, otherwise, nothing much has changed between the two models.

One last note: Verizon cripples its V3c(s) from full-media functioning, while Alltel does not, plus there can be activation issues if you are buying a second-hand phone, so make sure you buy the correct company and from a reputable seller.

So: It's a good, somewhat trendy phone, and after awhile, you'll get used to its lack of basic necessary features (flash/always-on outside display/crappy battery life) and fall in love with its quality features (voice activated dialing, bluetooth, slimness, anticipatory responsive text-messaging). Worth a year of use, at least 'till they com

The Good & Bad About My RAZR V3 PINK.

Overall Rating:
4.3 out of 5
By: Diana M. Vukelich on Thursday, May 24, 2007
From: Concord, CA (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: I love that fact that I have a cute little pink cell phone. I also have noticed that it takes excellent photos. I can e-mail my photos to my home computer and the quality of the photos are almost as good as my professional camera's photographs.
I can use it to look up on the Internet, play games, im, e-mail and check my account and I can change the front screen to adapt to my own personal preferences.
If I need to it will fit in my front or back pocket. Just don't sit on it! In an emergen

Cons: Some of the things I wish this phone did differently. On the "Calendar Reminder" when I use it to remind me of something it only rings/beeps once at me and if I didn't hear it, then sometimes I forget about the event. I wish it would continuously beep until I picked it up. I have already used all the "5-Alarm" functions and need to have at least 7 per day. I also wish you could change the amount of times the phone ring (3) before it switches over to v-mail. Sometimes I just can't get to it in ti

Summary: I would definitely buy another one if I ever lost this one! I say "Lost it" because I don't think it will ever break. I don't have a Home Phone so this is my only means of communication with my friends and family and It has held up very well. I have owed it just under 2 years and I use it all the time. It even has it's own spot under my pillow when I go to sleep. I love the fact the it vibrates to wake me up every morning...

A really great phone from Moto

Overall Rating:
4.8 out of 5
By: TED LEBLOND on Sunday, May 13, 2007
From: JERSEY CITY, NJ (United States)
Experience: 5 Months
Pros: Solid, well-made, very tight. Awesome color!

Cons: Cant use wireless headphones for music

Summary: I received this phone in Jan 2007 (its now May). From the time I took it out of the box I noticed it was very well made and put together. It seems better than the V3 (plain V3) I used to have. The rich is beautiful. Inside the black rubber/metal trim compliments the red nicely. The software is also good- if you like Moto, its their usual but intuitive fare. The camera--oh my god- is better than some digital cams I have-excellent crisp sharp pix-I have had at least 5 other phones this one is the best ever!
