Pantech Matrix-C740 Blue Cell Phone

Watch and decid Recently, I caught up with Jack Cooper, LetsTalk.com's Merchandising Manager for AT&T, to get some inside scoop on the Pantech Matrix. Check out the video to get a closer look at the Matrix. AT&T announced FOUR new QWERTY phones for the holiday season. Here's the first: The Pantech Matrix. It's not a smartphone, but it has two keypads, 3G, and mobile Email and IM. "Dumbphone," my eye! Pros: 3G, full QWERTY, total messaging package, good value, feels tough. Cons: GPS isn't free, it's pretty thick.
I'm loving the selection of messaging devices this season: Propel, Gravity, Slate, Quickfire, Rant, and Matrix are a few off the top of my head, but I know there are more out there. If you're heavy on text and into the novelty of experimental form factors, the Matrix should be at the top of your list. The C740 is an updated... AT&T has a "two for the price of one" sale going on the Pantech Matrix and Samsung Propel this Thanksgiving, and it will be in effect at least until Sunday. It's kind of a messy deal. You have to sign a contract and pay $129.99 for the first device, but you'll get a $50 rebate in the mail. Still, it's a cool way to get messaging devices into the hands of couples. smartphone for AT&T? I really like the idea of that phone, but in
reality it was super bulky and just not that fun to use. Looks like
Pantech's cooking up a successor of sorts, and has dumbed the Duo down
in a good way to create the Matrix, a dual-slider that's a
messaging-centric "dumb phone" with slicker styling, funner features,
and (hopefully) a slimmer... Pros: qwerty keyboard,keypad,pretty good messaging,d-pad,pretty good camera and speaker Cons: no touch screen,flat keyboard and pad,no flash camera Summary: the phone itself is pretty good for me,but for others there may be better. I can honestly say that if i compared it to the LG xenon,a phone i also like a lot,the matrix would win. Pros: Dual sliding,good color,and nice design Cons: Kind of thick, small Qwerty pad, not a smartphone(but that is ok),kind of hard to use,and could have a better selection of things! I never thought I'd actually like the QWERTY keyboard but I use it more than the number pad. I like having that option to use either the # pad or keys. So if your a teenager like me, for verizon i would say you should get the versa or env touch. at&t you should get the xenon. idk much about the other carriers tho, sorry I would say lg xenon bc i just went to see it at the store and it looks very tite. thanks and i dont hate touch screens what i hate is using a qwerty key board on the touch screen i like using a slide out qwerty key board] Here's my recommendations,
AT&T: If you are getting a Martix, get the Pro. It's Windows Mobile 6.1 with threaded text messages. The regular Matrix doesn not have threaded texts.
It's a toss up between the LG Xenon and Samsung Impression, but Xenon has the threaded texts, and the Impression has the slightly larger screen. Both have touch screens that I know you are not interested in, but has the... i haaaaaaaaaaate on screen touch keyboards i reccomed the samsung eternity it has a great touch screen keyboard. i have had this phone for a lil over a month and i love it. it is a feature phone and not a smart phone but ur a teenager lik myself and u prolly dont want 1 and the eternity has the most features i think i have ever seen a phone have. and unlike the impression the etrnity had mobile tv and a rilly good browser. i no price isnt important but the eternith is alot cheaper...
