Part 2 of Noah's early hands-on look at the Samsung Behold for T-Mobile. 5MP Camera, 3G data, Web/Email/IM, and it comes in Brown and Pink. Behold! Noah gets an early hands-on look at the Samsung Behold for T-Mobile. Touchscreen, TouchWiz, 5MP camera, 3G, GPS ... it's a full on multimedia monster. And it comes in pink! If you want the Internet on your Behold or Memoir but don't want to spring $19.95 a month, web2go is your best alternative to a full-blown data subscription--especially if you already have messaging bundled with a family plan. As a helpful rep told me this morning, web2go is $9.95 a month and gives you high-speed Internet access for the first 10 Gigs of each month. After that, data is throttled but still available. Web2go has been a bit awkward... Many thanks to the reader who sent this tip - with photos - in, even though it made my Monday morning a little sad. Looks like T-Mobile and Samsung are up to the same nonsense it pulled with the Samsung Behold in touting the Memoir's "full HTML Web browser" only to cripple the sucker by routing it through their new Web2Go servers. According to the tip and photos I woke up to, Memoir is configured out of the box to render Web sites in... Pros: nice look, friendly camera interface, 3G, 5MP, good touchscreen, functions as USB mass storage device. Cons: poor web browsing, GPS is limited to bad bundled app or freebie downloads; no Google Maps. I wanted to get my wife a new phone for Christmas. We are T-Mobile customers, so I called in and said I was looking for a good camera phone that had a full QWERTY; soft or physical. The agent immediately recommended the Behold, and pointed out... One of my big complaints with the new Samsung Behold from T-Mobile has to do with T-Mo's claims of "Full HTML Web browsing" on the phone. The device actually uses T-Mobile's new Web2Go system, which is a far cry from a "full HTML" experience. I was perplexed by this, particularly because Samsung Eternity - a similar phone released around the same time on AT&T - has a rather nice full HTML browser out of the box. Turns out that... Instead of trying to guess which phones you want Noah to compare, aka PhoneDog DogFights, we figured we'd ask you. Which phones do you want to see battle?
PhoneDog DogFight Poll - Dec. 08 T-Mobile's got your friends and family in mind for the season, and has announced a fresh line-up designed to keep you in touch. They're offering three new phones for taking pictures, texting, and gifting, plus a digital picture frame that uses a SIM card. Add to this another Companion Flights airline promotion, and you've got a pretty good recipe for happy T-Mo holidays. First, I want to get to the cameo. It's a picture frame with a phone... Pros: TOUCHSCREEN, CAMERA, PRICE, SPEAKER PHONE, WEB ACCESS, MY FAVE SERVICE, ONLINE SERVICES-BILL/MY FAVE CHANGES Cons: GETTING USE TO "NO FLIP" DEVICE, NOT ENOUGH INFO REGARDING CAMERA/USB DOWNLOAD IN MANUAL-SPENT 2 HOURS ONLINE GETTING INFO. Summary: I ADORE THIS PHONE! PRICE - GET A DEAL WITH TMOBILE! (LOTS OF PKGS TO CHOOSE FROM)-AS LOW AS .99 ! SDCARD, USB CABLE COMES WITH PKG! SLEEK, STYLISH, TOUCHSCREEN IS GREAT! 5MEGAPIXELS! BEST OF ALL (FOR ME) TAKING PICTURES W/PHONE AND USING IDEAS FOR OIL PAINTINGS/MURALS. EASY AS PIE!GREAT FOR LOTS OF LAUGHS WHEREVER YOU ARE................ 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: *sexy design [i have the light rose color] *touch screen is really responsive *awesome camera/picture/video quality *ringtones/music/audio sounds awesome Cons: *only two things i can think of to KINDA complain about... 1) the camera takes a few seconds to actually snap and take the picture 2) when the phone is on lock and is on the screensaver mode, u cant change that pic., so ur stuck lookin at flowers or designs. lol Summary: i love my new phone, ive never had a hi-tech phone that had all these awesome qualities to it. i LOVE txting with this phone, the touch key board is amazing. Pros: great touchscreen, solid design very easy to use interface, nice camera, and a metal back cover, etc Cons: wished there was more features, no wifi Summary: i picked up this phone after a contract renewal. big upgrade from the w490. the phone is really to use and learn. the design is solid and classy, does not feel cheap at all, and the battery cover lock is a one of a kind feature. The phone sometimes lags, and the browser is a bit baggy. also, the screen is hard to see in the sun texting on the onscreen keyboard is pretty smooth, save a button location. the bast part is it does not require a data plan like the g1, this phone is not a smartphone, but a regular phone on steroids, overall, great product Pros: Its a touch screen, and its awesome.. Cons: The only problem I've been having is when I'm on the phone and want to send a txt.. And changing the screen savers on the lock screen. Summary: I love this phone. Its so awesome and its about time t-mobile got something worth while. lol. But not only that the texting is pretty easy. U can tilt the phone side ways so that the display screen turns sidewyas, and if you do while your texting you get a full qwerty board. The touch screen is pretty responsible and i'm pretty sure you can hold between 100-200 messages. depending on how much room is available on your phone and memory card. But in all if you have some questions you can ask. :) ITs awesome and worth the money!! 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: I personally like the Haptic feedback. Build Quality. Internet. 3G Programmability. Easy to use. Cons: None so far. I have a 10 megapixel Camera, and that takes slow pics. That's why the Camera is slow, cause it's powerful. Summary: I have to say. I jumped into the hot water to get this phone. I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I previously owned a BlackBerry Curve, which was becoming a complete pain in the a$$! The Curve is Flimsier than a BB Pearl, about the only thing on a Curve better; hardware wise, was the battery cover (Still a pain in the ass to remove). Wi Fi caused my calls to drop often, E Mail sucked, and most importantly is that the software upgrades are poorly tested for QC, so they brick your phone. One of the first things I noticed when I got this phone, was how well built it was. The battery door is solid, doesn't feel weak, like on my previous BlackBerry phones. The SIM card slot and Flash card slot, are also better. I don't hot swap so its not an issue. On a BB these are cheaply made, and the SD card slot actually broke on one of mine easily. The internet on this phone is faster than EVEN WiFi! Seriously! I like that it was easy to get to the things I needed. Instead of navigating through a lot of menus to get where I need to go. I go to my yahoo e mail through the internet. and thats fine. It's fast, and it gets the job done. The music is LOUD! I own a Record Company, and I need a decent media player to show my music to people. Look if you learn a lil patience, and how to program a lil bit, you can do a lot with this phone. BTW I dropped my phone, and it was fine, just a couple scratches on the camera. I freaked out at first; but it's made mostly of metal, so it was good. Look. BlackBerries, are nice; but after a while you will get endless amounts of E Mails, your calls will drop often while connected to Wi Fi. The sides would push in when I held my Curve one handed, and I'm talking about the housing, and not any buttons. I was afraid to drop my BB Curve. seriously This is a review from a former BlackBerry "Power User" I'm just trying to help other people out before they jump, and get a BlackBerry over this phone. So far...I LOVE IT! Mine is the Espresso one BTW 6 out of 7 people found this review helpful All Samsung Behold T919 Light Rose user reviewsI tried using this on my memoir but when i click on the internet icon and it looks like it's trying to connect but then i get a pop up saying service not allow. i downloaded opera mini from the browser on my samsung behold but when i actually use iit, it sais its not connecting
very frustrating for copying music you only have to change to aac format if you have itunes thats what i have what if you dont have a web2go plan CASEEKER just get the full messaging plan for 10.99 a month thats what i have the full html browser trick doesnt work just get the unlimited messaging plan thats what i have [quote user="texmoss"]Hack your Behold to allow some Java apps to be paused and minimized instead of closing completelyOK I know you guys will love this little trick!!!!Go to Admin Settings *#6984125*#Go to Internalsmaster key *#9072641*#Go to Java settingsGo to VM settingGo to VM Modeclick on MVM & user allow back...go back to previous screen by pressing back keyclick on MVM MIDlet max count (this is only if you want to be able to run... Most of this is on the phone. It depend what you want, you can also text "maps' to 33669, or on your phone visit m.google.com/gmm Why does TeleNav suck? I use the GPS system all the time and it has never been wrong. Also, it keeps up with me as I am driving whereas GPS on some other networks tend to get behind. I love the GPS from Telenav.
