Many thanks to the reader who sent this tip - with photos - in, even though it made my Monday morning a little sad. Looks like T-Mobile and Samsung are up to the same nonsense it pulled with the Samsung Behold in touting the Memoir's "full HTML Web browser" only to cripple the sucker by routing it through their new Web2Go servers. According to the tip and photos I woke up to, Memoir is configured out of the box to render Web sites in... It's that time of year ... No, not Christmas, Hanukkah, or Winter Solstice time ... PhoneDog DogFight Poll - Dec. 08 Pros: Responsive touchscreen, Full HTML browser, 3.5mm headphone jack, Sleek and lightweight design
Cons: Mobile TV service doesn't work everywhere, GPS can be slow, TouchWiz needs some work
Samsung has released a bevy of similar-looking touchscreen phones on US carriers this Fall. The Behold (T-Mobile), Delve (Alltel), Omnia (Verizon), and Eternity (AT&T) all feature full frontal touchscreens and Samsung's TouchWiz user interface... Pros: Good for ladies, beautiful interface Cons: No apps, no pc connectivity, need data plan to install apps (if you find them), propietary OS pain in the neck. Summary: Those who say the Samsung Eternity is better than the iPhone are living on another planet. Samsung needs to come up with updates to improve the OS or they should program the apps themselves. I do not like the phone. 0 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: great touch screen, good speakers, good signal strenth, good voice quaily good battery life Cons: screen sensitive when scrolling through contacts,a screen protector will take care of that problem Summary: very good phone lots of features would recommed it to anyone 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: Responsive screen, tons of features like mp3, tv, e-mail... Cons: NO SPEED DIAL FUNCTION! Summary: All in all I really like this phone. I hope it's as durable as the sales lady said it is...I keep a phone for the duration of the contract. I'm disappointed about the speed dialing but LOVE the camera! I'm a photographer and it's handy to have in my pocket. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: responsive screen ,great camera, good battery life, good speakers Cons: screen to sensative when scrolling through contacts,,email needs a stylus pen,you have to scroll on the side to check all your messages, getting to your email is slow. Summary: other that great phone i would recommend this phone to anyone. Pros: Good keyboard, HTML browser, music player, convenient , easy to use Cons: MicroSD Summary: The phone is really good. I have it and I am totally loving it. The bad thing is that I cannot use regular USB cable and I have to use a MicroSD card. Other than that, I'm lovin' it! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful All Samsung Eternity a867 user reviewsI'm a big fan of the dogfights. You do a great job, so I feel kinda dumb even making a suggestion. But, I'm a very happy Sprint customer who is about to upgrade and with the flood of great new phones at Sprint, I'm not sure which one to go with. I'd love to see the dogfight, "Palm Pre vs. Samsung Moment vs. HTC Hero". I know I'd like one of those three, just not sure which one. No doubt about it, the Eternity is the one! I have had mine for a month and have compared it with the Solstice, Impression as well as the Iphone. This phone has a much better camera, takes great pictures, even without a flash. The GPS is a great item and I can email, check my emails, and do Instant Messaging. I don't need to have WiFi on my phone, so I am very happy with the Eternity. Newer isn't always better ~... Take advice from someone who had the LG Vue, it's not at all a great touchscreen phone. I could go on and on listing my dislikes about the Vu, LG didn't take their time, they simply through together a cheap, unresponsive touch screen phone. And I would not recommend it for anyone. On the other hand Samsung is known for quality phones, so i'd choose from their selection. If i was you i would either go for the lg xenon or samsung eternity. th lg vu has a small touchscreen that is not as responsive as the other two phones. So if you want a touch screen phone make sure it has a decently sized screen. But anyway thats my opinion and try those phones out and see what you like best. Its mostly personal taste that counts. I have the samsung eternity phone that I bought last night. I was wonder what the T.V. logo is that appers at the top of the phone all the time and how I can make it go away if I can. I checked out the demo for T.V. and ever since then the logo has been at the top please help me
i'll take it a step further and say this....
Multimedia - Eternity for the formentioned 3.5 headphone jack and mobile TV
Texting - Impression for the physical slide out QWERTY board
'all in one functionality/apps' - Solstice for the number of apps that are installed
All have touchscreen, camera, 3G goodness and so on. Can't go wrong with anyone of them. I would look at the Solstice first because it the newer of the... Eternity. 3.5 headphone jack, Mobile TV, and bigger screen. However, Sosltice has more widgets and self-portrait mirror. Might I suggest The Samsung Impression i am getting a new phone and i dont know what to pick I agree with you on the widgets, but a quick google search lends you to a website that tells you how to disable the permissions on an unsigned application, all with just a usb cord and a free program.
