Samsung Glyde Cell Phone
What’s Good: Touchscreen and Full QWERTY Keyboard in Compact Body; Clean Menus and “Croix” User Interface; 2MP Camera with Autofocus and Flash; GPS with VZ Navigator; Full HTML Browser; Good Sound Quality
What’s Not Good: Touchscreen Can Be Difficult to Use, Especially Around Edges and Using Web Browser; Slightly Thick Profile; No D-Pad
Bottom Line: Samsung shrunk the F700 down to a cool, compact size in making the Glyde. The slide-out QWERTY board is handy and surprisingly comfortable given its small size, and the finger-friendly touchscreen is generally quite good (with a few consistently frustrating quirks). Glyde brings much of Voyager’s flash to a smaller, simpler device, and is a fun new option in Verizon’s messaging phone lineup.

I'm really not sure which phone I should get I'm looking for a touchscreen phone with a keyboard. In your opinion what phone would be the best and it has to be from AT&T or Verizon. I thank you for taking the time to read this.
A. The HTC Touch Pro (Sprint/Verizon) or "Fuze" (AT&T) is a great touchscreen phone with a QWERTY board. It runs WindowsMobile, so it's a full... It's that time of year ... No, not Christmas, Hanukkah, or Winter Solstice time ... It's year-end awards time! The PhoneDog Editors will be selecting our personal Phone of the Year favorites over the coming weeks, but we're more interested in what you have to say. So let's kick off the voting with the Verizon Wireless Phone of the Year for 2008.
BlackBerry Storm got a lot of recent hype, but there are other worthy contenders for... I have a useful tip for Verizon's Samsung Glyde.
Everyone probably has some idea about or uses speed dial, right. For me, I normally use speed dials 2 through 9 (which gives you 8 speedy contacts you can reach with just two taps) because it can be too many contacts to remember to enter all contacts in all speed dials after speed dial nine.
Now, you can go ahead and move on to speed dials 10 and on but you'll to take another second to tap... Previous Posts in this series: LG Voyager - VZW, LG Dare - VZWSamsung Glyde (u940)Glyde is the American sibling of Samsung's F700 Ultra Smart, and was much anticipated by phone geeks here in the States. VZW and Samsung literally shrunk the F700 down into a more compact, pocketable form factor in Glyde. For me, the results were mixed: Glyde is nice and small but still features a comfortable QWERTY board for messaging. But the... Cell phone junkies - or anyone who's spent any time in Europe, Korea, or Japan - will tell you that the U.S. cell phone market lags almost hopelessly behind its global counterparts. The American market is tightly controlled by the network operators, and half of US phones run on a proprietary standard incompatible with most of the world's networks (CDMA, used by Verizon and Sprint), a combination that's long resulted in a lack of options... Summary: Appearently there is a new version of the glyde i must hav the old one cuz mine is the back of horse stable material ive already had it replaced 2 times! im goin to verizon again and i am gonna ask about the new version and mine is strangely blue not black =( dont no y but it has different setting and it doesnt hav that blue square in the middle of the home screen. they use a different sort of touch screen the old 1 is electricty i think and the new one is different so that might make a difference. do your research cuz mine is the worst phone EVER!!!! Pros: everything seems good in the beginning but it turns crappy after a month or 2 I reallyyy like the rubiks cube wallpaper and the shooting star wallpaper :D Cons: everything after a while keys start breaking touch screen is demented battery gets wicked short home button starts to not work keys stick just turns off for no reason when batterys full Summary: okay the glyde is the WORST phone ever!!! Worse than flip phone or just plain old phones that are like walk-e-talkees!!!At first this phone seems great the touch screen is working the keyboard is so great and the cool wallpapers and stuff. well after a few months (like 2) the phone starts breaking! The screen goes white at any random moment and you hav to turn it off and then back on!It blacks out and then it wont turn off so you hav to rip out the battery and then turn it on again.the touch screen gets really messed up if you touch something on the top of the screen it says you touched something at the bottom of the screen! i hav had my phone replaced once and after the replacement that same day it did all of these things AGAIN! im returning this phone and getting the env touch DONT GET THIS PHONE !!!! NO MATTER HOW MANY GOOD REVIEWS THERE ARE!!! Pros: great style. nice qwerty keyboard. Great internet browser. small and easy to carry around. Cons: bad touch screen. not the best battery life. screen gets lose a little after little use. Summary: I use my samsung glyde a lot and i have to say its a good cheap touch screen cell phone now $79. The samsung glyde is a great phone for someone who's never used touch screen cell phone. Pros: QWERTY Cons: speakers only on top Summary: i had the old version of the glyde and i almost chucked it out a window. i went and got it exchanged for a new version. everything is the same but the touch screen. the old screen uses electricty from your fingers so if it gets dirty you are doomed. samsung revamoed it and put in a pressure sensitive screen and a calibriation screen so now it works much better. also the old one could only be used by your finger but the new version can use a stylus, a pluss in my book seeing as i have large hands. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: keyboard is great, messaging is good. Cons: TOUCH SCREEN Summary: I like this phone but i can't deal with all of the problems with the touch screen. I can't count all of the times i've wanted to throw this phone against the wall. sometimes i want to send a text message but i have to wait 10 minutes for the touch screen to become responsive. If this phone had a better touch screen i would love it but i am going to get a different phone. 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful All Samsung Glyde user reviewsum but when i looked on it online on verizon i didn't see it???? yep... thats the question..i looked on the website a millon times and still cant find it. Everyone raved about the HTC PRO .... It was all over the web about how great this phone was and the reviews were 99% wonderful. Well, I've had horrible experience with the HTC PRO. It's too touchy. I set the thing down and if I put it down too hard, somehow it automatically calls the last person I talked to and before I know it, I'm hearing that person yell through the speaker "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" .... I HATE... what do u think is the worst phone that is popular to ppl?
I would have to say the glyde Seriously the alias SUCKS And the update for the glyde makes it SOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER im getting the phone soon I really want one of these phones but cant decide@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
