Pros: This phone is very "cute"...everyone is loving the way it flips open two different ways. This protects the keyboard and just looks cool.Cons: This is my second D307, and I've had the same problems with both...the keyboard gains sensitivity over time, so in landscape mode, the phone does things you don't prompt it to. While landscape mode offers lot of features, it is lacking the one I hoped the most for when I purchased the phone...the ability to surf the web in landscape mode. There is no camera, and this phone doesn't offer a lot of memory. This is a BIG problem because I use the device with MediaNet (AT&T/Cingular web browsing servSummary: While the Samsung SGH D307 is aesthetically attractive, it just doesn't feel as practical as my former device (a Blackberry). If all you need is a "cool" looking or "cute" phone, this one might be perfect in its unique dual-flip design. If you need convenient web browsing, the ability to use a QWERTY keyboard at ALL times, a camera or lots of media memory, RUN THE OTHER WAY!

Pros: This phone was a very easy to use phone and I enjoyed the slim and light weight feature. Cons: The battery would not hold a charge shortly after a year and, of course, was out of warranty and I had to buy a new phone.Summary: I was very please with the phone until the battery would not hold a charge. I purchased a new battery and that was not the problem so it has to do with the charger port. I would not recommend this phone as I expect to use a phone longer than a year when you pay that much money for it.

Pros: Style, Style, and Style! Unique design that you will either love or hate (most will probably fall into the former). Solid build quality. Cons: Unless you buy a case, screen will be easily scratched/damaged. Sound volume on the low side. Battery life stinks. Summary: The main selling point of the Samsung T629 is its style. Very few phones on the market right now can compare to this look. It IS a head-turner. In the end though, people will keep a phone for performance and I'm not sure if the Samsung 629 will win many longtime fans. I had T-Mobile send two units one after another, but they still ended up with the similar problem of low sound volume, even with the level turned all the way up. My old trusty Motorola V557 blew this Samsung unit out of the water when compared for sound volume and reception. When the Samsung is locked onto a good signal, clarity can be stunning, but the T-Mobile coverage sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. Dropped calls also seem to have increased since I switched from Cingular/AT&T. You know those ads from AT&T touting "More Bars In More Places"? It's TRUE! In the end, I am still returning both Samsung 629's because of low sound volume. I also prefer a flip design even though I was intrigued by the slider design. The flip design will prove to be practical in the long run by protecting the screen from scratches. Battery life is also a shortfall here. Even with moderate use (1 to 1.5 hours a day), you will find yourself reaching for the charger at least once every 2 days. If you're not a fan of charging cells on a daily basis (and I definitely am NOT), I suggest you stay away from this phone. If you start using this for text msg / mp3 / camera / video, you will definitely be reaching for the charger on a daily basis. The T-Mobile rep admitted the Samsung's big screen sucks up a lot of battery life. I am going back to a Motorola (but NOT a Razr!) where I had better overall experience.

Pros: Just like everyone else says, the screen is among the best out there - big, bright, and crisp. I love that I was able to download Google Maps on my phone and have all the functionality that GMaps has on a computer, even with sattelite view and traffic in real time. It's all that I expected that a phone this price would do. Cons: Yikes. Take care of that screen folks. It's fragile. The outer part that you can touch is just a protective cover to a quite frail LCD, and it's not invincible. While that protective cover won't likely break under normal usage, the fragile screen underneath it breaks easily and can leave you being able to see little to nothing of your display. I pay and extra $5 a month for my carrier's warranty where they replace it no-questions-asked.
The battery is also weak at first, but I've notSummary: I'd say that this is one of the best sliders out there. My friends with other sliders like how mine is built more. Just DO NOT leave it in your pocket when you're lounging around. My screen got damaged while sitting on a couch and shifting around a couple times. I did manage to make it about 5 months without damaging it though.
Just treat it like you would the screen of a laptop and you've got nothing to worry about; it's just up to you to decide if you want to carry that equivelant fragility around in your pocket/purse. If you put a too much weight on it, you're shopping again.

Pros: This phone has amazing features. It overall is a pretty cool phone. It has an amazing LCD screen and a very clear camera.Cons: This phone breaks easily. It also does not receive different types of ring tones.Summary: This was the best phone of which I thought I had ever had untill last Friday, October 5, 2007. On Friday I received a message and when I went to open my phone to see the message the screen was all messed up. I knew that I had been taking fairly good care of the phone but for some odd reason the screen was all black and white and the screen appeared to be cracked but when I felt the screen it was not cracked at all. Even though I could still answer the phone when somebody called, I myself could not place a call or even see anything on the screen. Overall this is a nice phone if I only knew what happend to the screen and why I can not place any calls.
By: Grace Field on Sunday, September 30, 2007 From: Reno, NV (United States) Experience: 7 Months
Pros: It is a strong phone with a lot of battery life. I love it's general look and function. My favorite thing about it is that when you go to view photos, they load fairly fast. Cons: The only thing to watch for is the amount of memory taken. People say you can only hold like 20-30 photos, but if you save/download things wisely, and delete text and previous call inboxes ocasionally, you can hold well over 50 (I have ^^).Summary: All I'm saying is that it's a great little phone with much strength. It's highly recommended by me! It's also very simple and attractive.

Pros: small light good serviceCons: will not play all ring tonesSummary: in general it works well and is easy. sound and picture are good and it gets reception almost every place I go. I really like it and I would recomend it to a friend.

Pros: Good phone. Quiet keys. Large screen. Good features. I absolutely love this phone more than any other phone I have used. I have not had a blackberry so I cant compare that. Cons: None!Summary: Great phone. I have hated Samsung phones. But I am very pleased with this one.

Pros: i love that fact the buttons are coved away from dirt and dust and the bluetooth capablity is really awsome adn the extra memory card is really nice when I used the mp3 player Cons: my screen cracked and they dont cover it on the warnety the battery life was not like I expected short and some what unexpected adn the price tag when I first got it was a little steapSummary: really great mp3 and best bluetooth on a phone I have ever had but the batery life was a little unexpeted and was easy to pick up from the get go adn the price was not the atrative etiher
By: k a on Thursday, June 21, 2007 From: minneapolis, MN (United States) Experience: 3 Months
Pros: Size, style, 1.3 megapixel camera, music player, blue tooth, durability and price.Cons: Battery life compared to previous Samsung is not as good, but has more features to drain the battery. Non-customizable shortcuts.Summary: I have always been a big fan of Samsung because of the quality and durability. This phone is yet another great Samsung phone packed full of features and I got it free from my carrier.
By: Dan Walters on Sunday, June 10, 2007 From: Waltham, MA (United States) Experience: 2 Days
Pros: Beautiful screen, very small / light weight, cool looking, good sound qualityCons: Non-standard headphone jack. Also, the covers over all the plugs are held to the phone by a very thin piece of plastic or rubber - I'll be surprised if they go long without breaking. Summary: I've only had this phone for a couple days, but so far I really like it!
By: Steven Warfield on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 From: Scotia, NY (United States) Experience: 9 Months
Pros: Very good camera - both in terms of picture quality and ease of use, easy to navigate menus, sleek and small.Cons: The reception was less than desired - I would routinely not be able to get service, despite the fact that my wife could using the SAME service in the SAME location. No Bluetooth. The speakerphone - at max volume - was often hard to hear.Summary: This hip little phone will probably go over well with the kids and teens, but older folks might not like all the bells and whistles that it comes with. The sliding mechanism worked very well and was a nice departure from the flip, but I found the phone to be a little TOO small for my liking.
By: Fred Kennedy on Sunday, April 22, 2007 From: St. Paul, MN (United States) Experience: 4 Months
Pros: Simple, easy, plenty of features for a basic phone. Great speaker and LOUD ring tones. Even with my big hands it's easy to handle.Cons: Clarity isn't all that great. But I suppose lack of antenna doesn't help either.Summary: I wanted something basic and simple. I wanted a phone that had a speaker and ring tones with some VOLUME since I am hearing impaired. I was surprised at the features packed into a stylish phone.
By: Gabriela Lamberti on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 From: Coral Springs, FL (United States) Experience: 9 Months
Pros: QWERTY keypad, unique dual hinge flip phone, great for text messaging and SMS, Cons: The only thing missing in this phone is a camera and the ability to view web pages via the landscape mode.Summary: I have the unlocked version but ended up using Cingular anyways. This phone has a lot of features and at first it seams complicated but once you start using the phone for a week i ended loving the QWERTY keypad. What realy attracted me to the phone was the dual hinge technology. It's awsome and i'm glad that Samsung improved the SGH-D307 with the SCH-U740. Can't wait for the unlocked version, cause i don't like Verizon.

Pros: Great image and video quality, awesome Mini SD card slot, great reception, awesome text/picture messaging features, sleek design, awesome graphicsCons: The internal wiring breaks ALOT! I am on my 3rd one due to internal wiring issues. Once you start sending a text you cant cancel it, some features have delay to them, some features feel cheap (like battery and SD card covers) battery slot can be hard to put the charger in, battery is ok but not the greatest.Summary: I really like this phone, and just because of the great features i was willing to buy replacements but im on my last thread with the wiring crap. I really like it and all but its getting old. THe screen turns blank.

Thanks to the folks at Nokia, I've got a re-loan of the E71 smartphone, one of my favorite releases of 2008. A Symbian S60 device, the E71 has an Email client as part of its pre-loaded Messaging application, and while it can't handle HTML mail and isn't the prettiest thing to look at, it basically works just fine. However, Nokia just announced the live Beta of their new Nokia Email service for select devices - including the E71. So I...
Last Sunday's NYTimes featured an article about a group of MIT students who've traded their privacy for free smartphones. Researchers are tracking the every move of 100 or so students as part of a study on "collective intelligence," or what the article describes as:a vast sea of digital information being recorded by an ever thicker web of sensors, from phones to GPS units to the tags in office ID badges, that capture our movements and...
I've searched far and wide over the last two years, but found no bluetooth device that can stand up to ThinkGeek's revolutionary design from '06. In the shadow of its sinewy curves and the glare of its glistening semi-reflective surface, all competitors appear painfully unimaginative and inadequate. Can this subtle beauty ever be matched... or dare I say, toppled? Undeniably, a classic. I'm also a fan of their BluAlert Bluetooth Bracelet. I...

If you're like me, a wine enthusiast without a lot of expertise, selecting a bottle can be downright stressful. More than once, I've wandered around and around in a shop, under the gaze of a not-too-helpful sales person who keeps pushing expensive items.
