Pros: Easy to use

Cons: Went through the washing machine because i forgot about it

Summary: It all started when i was doing a bunch of house work around the house one fine afternoon. i then decided to take a shower. i got out of the shower, got changed and put my clothes in the washer. little did i know, my phone was still in my pocket and i did not realize it until it fell out of the washer. now it is broken and i hav to spend 200 dollars on a new phone!

Samsung Sync Stinks

Overall Rating:
2.5 out of 5
By: Kevin Ryan on Wednesday, April 02, 2008
From: Pawtucket, RI (United States)
Experience: 9 Months
Pros: Sound quality, battery life.

Cons: Nothing is easy. It will push your frustration to the redline.

Summary: I hate my Sync. Nothing is easily done, not even basic stuff. Every function requires too many keystrokes, as you drill down through arcane menus. This is my 6th phone, and I have never been more frustrated. Retrieving last calls, txt, and the camera all require multiple key strokes and menu selections. I think it was designed by someone who never used a phone before. If I could afford to, I would throw it in the ocean. I often let my friends try it out, and they also think it stinks.

Good phone but bad connector

Overall Rating:
2.3 out of 5
By: Steve Lyin on Monday, January 28, 2008
From: San Jose, CA (United States)
Experience: 10 Days
Pros: speaker phone, MP3 player

Cons: Samsung-only Unique connector

Summary: 1. Got the phone from AT&T. No data cable includes, therefore cannot do many good functions. I blame on AT&T, but Samsung should insist on AT&T to pack it in so that the users can enjoy full usage.

2. (rather stupid) Samsung-only connectors for charging, data, and ear phone. May be Samsung believes single connector for all three (charge, data and ear phone) is a good design, but as a users, I suffer: I have to bring the unique m20-pin charger, whereas adapters with common household connector are readily available. I have to buy and use the (missing) m20-pin USB cable, where the standard USB/A to USB/B cable are readily available. Needly to said that I have to bring the Sumsung m20-pin mic/phone whereas a regular mic/phone is readily available. TO listen to the MP3 music, I have to use that Samsung mic/phone also. Hence, I wonder what this m20 buys the users?

I guess someone in Samsung needs to take a look at the messy design (see http://pinouts.ru/CellularPhones-P-W/all_samsung_pinout.shtml ). If the pinout on this site is correct, just look at how many design in phone with 18-pin connector.

In summary - I would not buy this phone or any Samsung phone again unless it use more common connectors.

I Like It

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: S Thames on Monday, January 21, 2008
From: Houston, TX (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: Loud speaker volume, Bluetooth

Cons: Menu set-up is awkward

Summary: I have hearing loss, but can hear well with this phone. I have enjoyed using the Bluetooth.
Others have complained of dropped calls, but I believe that is a Network problem since I have yet to drop a call.
It has a lot of features, but they're not easy to find on the menu. You have to figure out which category the feature you want to use is buried in.

Samsung Sync

Overall Rating:
3 out of 5
By: Casey Sullivan on Friday, January 11, 2008
From: norristown, PA (United States)
Experience: 15 Months
Pros: Loud music player, easy to text and navigate phone, easy to open with one hand, lots of features

Cons: the camera takes forever to take pictures and the service sucks. i have lost several calls. bad battery life-it dies every day and must be charged overnight.

Summary: I overall like the phone itself and the features like music player with external touch keys. it sends texts very slowly which is annoying when u are talking to more than one person. the phone is slightly large but is still lightweight. the screen is huge which i like and it is very durable (i drop it alot).

Pros: Bright screen, cool look, cool touch screen music abilities, comes in red which is awesome, and for all of it's abilities its pretty cheap.

Summary: I love it!! It was the perfect phone for me!!! Great camera, video, video share, it has aim and you can check your emails, it has internet, news, mp3 player, txt, everything!!! What isn't there to love. People may say that it has slippery controls but it rally doesnt anless you are like blind and need to feel the keys (no offence blind people, not that your'e reading this!!!) This is a great starter phone for people who are looking for a really good, cool, useable phone that doesn't cost a fortune and isn't too fancy.

Samsung SGH-A707 is JUNK

Overall Rating:
2 out of 5
By: William Craig on Friday, November 02, 2007
From: Buford, GA (United States)
Experience: 3 Months
Pros: A lot of features I don't need.

Cons: TOTALLY unreliable. So many missed calls I am about to go out of business. I am changing it out today.

Summary: This phone has been a causing me a lot of problems with customers and family. No one can reach me reliably . It had such poor reception I can not call it a phone. It constantly drops calls and is just a bad experience all round.

It drops calls, it does not ring and I get a voice mail, it does not ring or show missed calls from someone calling 3 or 4 times.

It is JUNK.

By: james griffith on Thursday, September 20, 2007
From: columbia, TN (United States)
Experience: 7 Days
Pros: music player is cool,a lot of other capabilities.xm,mobiltv,billboardmusic.

Cons: very hard to navigate to find certain things.low battery life, reception is horrible, including numerous dropped calls.

Summary: ive had the phone about a week, could not get a straight answer about the memory capabilities of a sd card, and what it would support. the signal/reception is HORRIBLE,it is very hard to open one handed.it doesnt come loaded with many ringtones(10) i think.and the front display being small, doesnt stay on long at all(4 seconds max)i charged it for the 12 hours they recommend, and the first day i took it to work by mid evening 3 pm i had already lost 1 of 3 bars of battery.and if you are in no service area,it has even worse battery life.now the good stuff.has an awesome music(mp3) player. has stereo sound. very loud.has an awesome inside screen display.music player has control buttons on front. lots of cool features,xm radio, mobiltv, billboard music.and musicid.internet is cool also thanks to the 3G service& sim card.has 20 different frames to choose from for pictures.and video. all the bells and whistles, very limited (cellphone)use

Maybe for a large city

Overall Rating:
3.2 out of 5
By: Neal Autin on Monday, September 10, 2007
From: Arp, TX (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: large numbers & text

Cons: lost calls, no warning for low battery

Summary: This phone has lost me many of calls, if you get out of a area that they support, the phone will go into EMERGENCY CALL ONLY, you have to turn off you phone and turn it back on. You have no idea when this happens so if you phone does not ring for a while I suggest you check periodically, pain in the rear.

Poor reception = bad phone

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: John Vann on Wednesday, August 15, 2007
From: Richland, WA (United States)
Experience: 7 Days
Cons: Very unreliable at maintaining a connection. Many lost signals and interrupted conversations. I got no bars where other ATT customers had 4 or 5 bars.

Summary: A phone must first serve its primary purpose. I already have an MP3 player, Palm Tungsten, & digital camera. Even with other good features a phone that can't keep a signal is of no use. It's going back this weekend.
