Sony Ericsson W810 Cell Phone User Reviews
Pros: A stylish phone with good battery life and packs a lot of features for it's sise.2 megapixle camera,4x digital zoom with led light, bluetooth, inferer red,F.M raidio, muisic player, games,e.c Cons: The Sony Ericsson w810i can be slugish at times and it also has a few software glitches. Summary: The w810i is stylish with many great features all in a small phone. it's a great phone for taking lots of pictures, and listing to music. I also like the way the camera has a LED light because it can be used as a flash light.I would give this phone a 8/10 raiting. Pros: nice features good camera good screen can hold Media Card has FM radio Cons: speaker fuzzes side walkman and media net buttons are no good locks up all the time have to take battery out often to reset Freezes up Summary: This phone started out as a wonderful phone... Give it six months or so. It locks up very often. Power button won't even turn it off when it locks, take battery out it will fix it.. sometimes... Mine has recently locked up again and this times will not come back. You push power up button and it acts like it is going to go then sits with the sony ericsson/walkman sign on the screen and will do nothing, just lights up with the logo.... still been this way for about three weeks, can't do anything with it. 10 out of 15 people found this review helpful Pros: -Price -Size -Ease of Use -Functionality -Battery Life! Cons: None Yet! Summary: Vast upgrade from early model V3. Our area has a great signal and voice quality and strength is great, no dropped calls. I am hard of hearing and the position of the speaker is perfect, max volume is not needed as with the V3. In the past I have not been an iPod person but now daily use both the walkman and radio (again, good signals in our area). Overall I am very happy with this phone. I have upgraded to web use and find this functional and fun even with the smaller screen. For the price a GREAT deal. 21 out of 33 people found this review helpful Pros: 3 speaker mp3 player is outstanding Cons: Cingular only has one bar in the 92116 zip code Summary: Phone is great cigular service is not good. Internet minutes is never up to date, warranty for phone doesn't exist. 25 out of 58 people found this review helpful Pros: -Inexpensive (with Cingular's service rebated: $65) -Comes with free Sony Ericsson external speakers -Comes with free 1G Memory Stick (Cingular) -Vivid, colorful screen -Great sound quality MP3 player with equilizer -Easy to use dedicated "Walkman" button feature -2.0 Mega pixel camera (higher than most other phones) -Super bright LED camera flash that doubles as flashlight. -Easy to remove memory stick -Better than average battery life -Sony offers FREE ring tone, Cons: -Easy to scratch screen -No cover to protect camera lens -No cover to protect dust from external speaker -Small buttons -Does not allow you to set MP3 songs as ring tones -When dropped, easy to damage the screen/camera lens. -When uploading/playing music it can tend to get glitchy and freeze for a second or two. -Charger prongs seem easy to break off/damage. Summary: The pros and cons pretty much covered it. With Cingular's service I got a great deal on the phone. Besides it being a great deal, the phone is great...works great as a phone. The Walkman feature can be glitchy from time to time, but only when you upload a mass amount of songs at once, or when a song is playing and you are scrolling through the phone and doing other things like looking up numbers or playing games. Other than that the speaker is plenty loud for a tiny phone. Being in the military, one thing I love are tactical gadgets. So when I found out that this phone had a camera flash that doubles at a super bright LED flashlight, I was sold. The flashlight also has a "S.O.S" feature where you can set it on S.O.S and it will blink in morse code a "help me" message. Also a cool tactical feature in case you are lost in the woods at night and a rescue team in a helicopter may be flying over head. The LED light is definetly bright enough to alert low flying aircraft. The flashlight is cool, but of course it drains battery life, but for those times that you may be in a dark movie theater and your drop your keys between the seats, the flashlight feature is pretty neat. Sony offers a great service: free ring tone, theme, picture, and game downloads at their Sony Ericsson website. The only thing I would highly recommend is as soon as you buy this phone, go on Ebay and find a durable case for it. I found an awesome silicon rubberized casing for it which protects it from damage, dust, and scratches. Only $10 bucks shipped on Ebay! Also, I don't know if this is the case with other phones, but the car charger for this damn phone is $30 bucks at the local retailer outlets...insanely expensive for a charger. You can get chargers on Ebay for $8 bucks shipped all day. Highly recommend this phone! 40 out of 70 people found this review helpful Pros: -Inexpensive (with Cingular's service rebated: $65) -Comes with free Sony Ericsson external speakers -Comes with free 1G Memory Stick (Cingular) -Vivid, colorful screen -Great sound quality MP3 player with equilizer -Easy to use dedicated "Walkman" button feature -2.0 Mega pixel camera (higher than most other phones) -Super bright LED camera flash that doubles as flashlight. Messaging 8. Internet Cons: no lens cover which stinks Summary: The flagship model in Sony Ericsson's first-generation of Walkman-branded phones, the w800i combines a solid tri-band GSM phone with exceptional multimedia functionality including a full-featured music player and best-in-class two megapixel camera. The fun-loving cousin of Sony's all-business K750i, the w800i is the music lover's mobile of choice, at least until the next generation of Walkman phones is released 27 out of 61 people found this review helpful Pros: light, the camera is AMAZING, the mp3 player is awesome Cons: This phone can only be used with a compatible service plan. Summary: Indeed. This phone rocks...the software is fantastic in every way (aesthetic, ease of use, good design all around), it's light, the camera is AMAZING, the mp3 player is awesome...and you wouldn't believe the sound! I didn't even want an mp3 player, and I thought for sure I would have to buy a "decent" set of headphones for this, but there is no need...the sound quality seems better than with my ipod and expensive earphones...and you can upgrade to a 2G memory stick! Oh, and it even has a real light! Really, I am kind of in shock at how good this phone has been, I'm so used to having to "put up with" some annoying aspect (or two) but I adore my new toy! 31 out of 58 people found this review helpful Pros: good sound, good picture, good memory, good battery life Cons: scratchable Summary: i bought this phone couple months ago. i put music in there(512mb of memory). this phone is really great because of the good picture and great sound when you play the music. in addition it have great quality life, you can use this phone for days without recharging it. 37 out of 59 people found this review helpful Pros: its a kool cell ,gr8 mp3 support by this ,it plays songs at very high quality so basiclay i think its worth of buy this instead of ipod coz in ipod ican hear songs but with this calls n everything so awesome Cons: nothin Summary: its a kool cell ,gr8 mp3 support by this ,it plays songs at very high quality so basically i think its worth of buy this instead of ipod coz in ipod ican hear songs but with this calls n everything so awesome 38 out of 69 people found this review helpful Pros: Mp3 support, bluetooth-support, looks fancy Cons: Tiny keys, speaker can be a bit distorted at times, no camera cover, poor battery life (battery completely drained after on standby for 2 days) Summary: I've had the W810i for a while now and off the bat, I would say that its looks combined with its long list of features makes it far more superior than anything currently available in U.S. cellular stores. I was lucky enough to get the Da Vinci code special edition version of this phone and I'm quite impressed with its 2.0 megapixel camera and clear screen. However, I wish that this camera came with a camera cover (similar to one that is available on the Sony Ericsson K750i) as the camera lens on the W810i tends to collect dust over time. The built-in Mp3 Walkman works well though the speaker is nothing to brag about. The keys are somewhat hard to get used to at first, especially if you're currently using a phone with average size keys (e.g. the Motorola RAZR). The buttons that are harder to push for me are in the center of the phone (it's a silver circle in the picture). If you can get past the high price of this phone (I paid $350 with no service attached) and don't mind occasionally pushing the wrong key, then you should definitely consider this phone. Reception-wise, I am able to get full bars within the city and about 1 bar in mountain areas (my friends who have the K750i usually have no network signal at all in mountain regions and currently use the same service that I have) 32 out of 66 people found this review helpful
