LG enV2 Review - Conclusion
ConclusionEditor Rating: I can’t really decide if EnV2 is right for you, but I can tell you a few things to help you make your own decision. If you want a do-it-all, top of the line device you’ll probably like Voyager or Glyde — or a VZW smartphone — more than EnV2. If you want a phone for heavy Email use on the go, skip directly to the BlackBerry Curve or Pearl as their Email service can’t be beat. If you want the thinnest, smallest VZW handset with a full keyboard, that’s Alias, not EnV2. But if you want a solid performer for calls, messaging, and music/video — or if you liked the original V and EnV but wished they were a little smaller and easier to carry around — you’ll probably like EnV2. It’s very good at what it was built to do, which is make calls and handle mobile messaging. With its roomy QWERTY board and internal display, EnV2 is ready for serious texting and IMing out of the box, and while VZW really should give you more if they’re going to charge $5/month for that mobile Email client, you can always opt for the free Webmail service instead. The music and video players are pretty good, and while EnV2’s camera is just a bit sub par, it’s fine for spur of the moment snapshots and sending picture and video messages. EnV2 is still just a little bulky for my tastes, but it’s a vast improvement over The V and EnV that came before it. If you’re in the market for a VCAST phone with QWERTY, EnV2 is definitely worth a look. Get it in your hands before you buy if you can, and make sure its size, shape, and QWERTY board feels good; if it does, odds are you’ll be happy as an EnV2 owner for at least a year or so before EnV3 comes along to woo you away. Saturday, November 15, 2008my sis's boy friend has is phone it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wednesday, November 12, 2008The env2 is an awesome phone. I have had no problems with mine and I have had it since its came out. I had the Env and loved it so I knew I would like this one. It doesnt have a flash but its a phone not a camera. I never read the book and figured everything out, its that easy to use. I would reccomend this phone to anyone! Friday, November 07, 2008so im thinking about getting this phone but people tell me that they freeze alot and just suck, is it true? also the screen in the front looks kinda small which may make texting hard..right? Monday, November 03, 2008the internal screen breaks EXTREMELY easily. I had the phone with insurance, the screen broke when it fell off my coffee table onto tile, got a replacement, pulled it out of my pocket one day and it randomly had broken.
It was an amazing phone while the screen worked but once it was broken it was practically useless because of the small outer screen. Saturday, November 01, 2008im gettin this phone tommorow. i think its perfect for me. it has a qwerty keyboard which is great cuz i text alot. and ppl r saying tht the front screen is to small which is bullcrap. its perfectly fine and usable. plus u have a huge internal screen (2.4 inches) Thursday, October 30, 2008im gettin this phone in 5 days. and i have done a lot of research about it. its perfect for a teenager. its simple and easy. has a qwerty keyboard for big texters. everything is perfect on this phone. i would reccomend this. Wednesday, October 29, 2008I really love this phone! Mywife wanted an easy to use (looks like a phone) phone. This is it. My only question is; how do you look up contacts from the external display? When I pull up my contacts and type in the first letter of their name, it defaults to my first contact. Any suggestions? Tuesday, October 28, 2008i am about to get the LG enV2 i was just wondering what it was like and if it was a good phone. one thing i want to know is if it breaks easly. And is it a good txt phone. if you think u can help me or give me some advice plz do. thx Monday, October 13, 2008THIS PHONE ROCKS MY SOCKS IM GETTING IT TOMARROW Monday, October 13, 2008the env 2 is a great phone you should get it on ebay instead of the store Sunday, October 12, 2008what is a good price you have for the env2?
Tuesday, October 07, 2008Ok, what's the deal??? My env2 signal when I'm talking to someone with the phone closed, has a very annoying sound quality. What it does is intermittently changes from hearing that you are connected to sounding as if the phone's just died (absolutely no sound coming through to indicate you're still connected). So constantly I hear these "dead spot" quiet moments followed by a clear 2-way sound of connection. It's like picking up a handset and listening to the receiving end while it's still in the box at the store vs. what it sounds like to when no one is talking on the other end, but you can hear that your phone has a connection. Is it the blue tooth setting or do I have a faulty phone? Sunday, September 28, 2008i think i might get the enV2. but does it freeze up at all? Wednesday, September 10, 2008i want to win the env Wednesday, September 10, 2008This phone is great except for the battery life. I just got a replacement battery, charged it up fully before turning phone on yesterday at 1:45pm. Left phone on and its now 18hrs later battery dead again. Wednesday, September 10, 2008Can you use your own mp3's as a ringtone? Sunday, September 07, 2008I just have one question about the phone really. Does the camera have a flash? I like the rest of it enough to buy it, but the flash is my deciding feature. Friday, September 05, 2008what a bunch of tards. it has zoom-read the book, it also has variable resolutions btw. if you can't find a wired headset, get a blutooth; join us in the 21st century. if your battery is dying, turn off the the EDVO. DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT STUFF. Sunday, August 31, 2008The phone might be nice but phonedog never mentioned anything about the camera quality so let me tell you. The old Env camera had zooming capability but the new EnV2 doesn't and the picture quality is not that good. |
