What’s Good: Sleeker and smaller than the original EnV.  Comfortable QWERTY keyboard and QVGA internal display make texting fun.  Huge external keypad makes dialing easy.  VCAST music and video support.  Support for laptop tethering (phone as modem).

What’s Not Good: External keypad makes the phone look like a retro calculator, although I suppose that could be seen as a good thing.  Space bar is small and oddly placed.  Verizon’s menu system can be confusing.  Limited Bluetooth functionality.  Still a little bulky.

Bottom Line: Verizon and LG shrunk the EnV and the results are good.  While the original EnV was an innovative but (very) big and expensive high-end phone, the EnV2 is smaller, cheaper, and slots into the middle of VZW’s messaging phone lineup.  Text addicts who don’t need Voyager’s touchscreen — and additional size and cost — should find QWERTY bliss with this affordable and capable handset.

Wednesday, November 12, 2008The env2 is an awesome phone. I have had no problems with mine and I have had it since its came out. I had the Env and loved it so I knew I would like this one. It doesnt have a flash but its a phone not a camera. I never read the book and figured everything out, its that easy to use. I would reccomend this phone to anyone!

Monday, November 03, 2008the internal screen breaks EXTREMELY easily. I had the phone with insurance, the screen broke when it fell off my coffee table onto tile, got a replacement, pulled it out of my pocket one day and it randomly had broken. It was an amazing phone while the screen worked but once it was broken it was practically useless because of the small outer screen.

Wednesday, October 29, 2008I really love this phone! Mywife wanted an easy to use (looks like a phone) phone. This is it. My only question is; how do you look up contacts from the external display? When I pull up my contacts and type in the first letter of their name, it defaults to my first contact. Any suggestions?

Sunday, October 12, 2008what is a good price you have for the env2?

Tuesday, October 07, 2008Ok, what's the deal??? My env2 signal when I'm talking to someone with the phone closed, has a very annoying sound quality. What it does is intermittently changes from hearing that you are connected to sounding as if the phone's just died (absolutely no sound coming through to indicate you're still connected). So constantly I hear these "dead spot" quiet moments followed by a clear 2-way sound of connection. It's like picking up a handset and listening to the receiving end while it's still in the box at the store vs. what it sounds like to when no one is talking on the other end, but you can hear that your phone has a connection. Is it the blue tooth setting or do I have a faulty phone?

Wednesday, September 10, 2008This phone is great except for the battery life. I just got a replacement battery, charged it up fully before turning phone on yesterday at 1:45pm. Left phone on and its now 18hrs later battery dead again.

Sunday, September 07, 2008I just have one question about the phone really. Does the camera have a flash? I like the rest of it enough to buy it, but the flash is my deciding feature.

Friday, September 05, 2008what a bunch of tards. it has zoom-read the book, it also has variable resolutions btw. if you can't find a wired headset, get a blutooth; join us in the 21st century. if your battery is dying, turn off the the EDVO. DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT STUFF.

Sunday, August 31, 2008The phone might be nice but phonedog never mentioned anything about the camera quality so let me tell you. The old Env camera had zooming capability but the new EnV2 doesn't and the picture quality is not that good.

Apps: OrbLive 2.0 released in App Store, enables hi-speed live TV

    Updated iPhone live TV app

Lots of great stuff happening for iPhone and iPod Touch users this week. The latest from Orb is no exception. The media-streaming company recently launched OrbLive 2.0, an iPhone app that uses Edge, Wifi and 3G networks to dish out music, videos, photos and even documents, from a Windows PC to the user's cell phone. But let's face it: The real star of the show is being able to watch live television streamed from your own computer to that...

Seriously? Riots?: NYers line up, wait, and get angry over BlackBerry Storm

    Storm Riots in NYC

What ever happened to try before you buy?  Hordes of CrackBerry addicts in New York City braved sub-freezing temperatures to line up before 6am this morning at Verizon stores in hopes of landing a BlackBerry Storm.  Lots of 'em apparently went home (or to the office) cold and angry, as VZW didn't have enough stock to meet the demand. So much for reading reviews and carefully considering new purchases in this time of economic...
