Since the days of the StarTac, Motorola has made its name on trend-setting clamshell handset design as much as it has on technical innovation. The V3 RAZR has continued this heritage of fashion-forward cell phone design, keeping Motorola on the tongue-tips of future first style mavens across the globe.

Motorola Razr Silver FrontThe RAZR line now includes a Verizon-compatible CDMA phone (the V3c) and two updated handsets not yet available in the United States: the V3i, featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera and (in some iterations) Apple's iTunes music software, and the V3x, a slightly thicker RAZR phone packing a 2MP camera amongst other bleeding edge goodies. The RAZR V3, however, is still the mainstay of Motorola's slim flip phones, and is now available in several color choices from both Cingular and T-Mobile.

Featuring a VGA camera, Bluetooth connectivity, and cellular modem functionality, the RAZR V3 offers functionality alongside its form. But is the V3 a formidable phone in today's marketplace, or is it truly an example of style over substance?

Motorola ships 50 millionth RAZR V3.

Libertyville, Ill. 18 July 2006 - Motorola (NYSE:MOT) announced a major milestone today with the shipment of the 50 millionth Motorola RAZR V3 handset. By introducing the Motorola RAZR, the company once again raised the design benchmark for the industry and unleashed consumer frenzy for the ultra-sleek “must have” mobile handset. To celebrate the 50-millionth-unit milestone, Motorola and U.S. Cellular are hosting a series of exciting events...

Motorola RAZR-V3 Silver in-depth review - Design

Cast more in metal than plastic, the RAZR's anodized aluminum exterior, etched metal internal keypad, and glass screen covers lend a subtle heft to this extremely thin phone. One's first impression of the RAZR is just that: "It's so thin!" Soon after, the second impression sets in: "And it's so wide." Measuring 98mm wide x 53 mm high x 15 mm thick, the RAZR is in fact both an extremely thin and rather wide phone. This flip can rest in your front...

Motorola RAZR-V3 Silver in-depth review - Camera

The Motorola RAZR V'3's 0.3-megapixel (VGA) camera is activated by pressing the Camera Key located on the left exterior of the handset. Both the internal and external LCD displays can function as viewfinders, though the internal is by far the more accurate display. When the phone is open, left and right key presses manage brightness levels, while up and down movements on the navigational keypad control the 4X digital zoom. The RAZR V3's digital...

Motorola RAZR-V3 Silver in-depth review - Features

The Cingular and T-Mobile versions of the Motorola RAZR V3 are both GSM quad-band (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) phones which can be used around the world, provided they are unlocked. Built on Motorola's standard user interface, a basic menu structure provides a no frills fundamental navigation structure. Motorola rated the V3's 680 mAh Li-Ion battery at an average of 5.25 and 240 hours (10 days) of talk and standby times respectively. However,...

Motorola RAZR-V3 Silver in-depth review - Screen

The external screen provides convenient access to call status, date and time, caller ID, and signal and battery levels. The 4,000 color, 96 x 80 screen is capable of four lines of text and one line of icons, and as mentioned earlier also serves as a viewfinder for the camera when the handset is shut. While color LCDs do put a more significant strain on batteries than more utilitarian monochrome screens, the RAZR is all about beauty and the...

razr messaging help

dont know if i can be much help but my experienc with razr phones is that you have to clear your messages befor you are able to send or receive messages. i am not much of  a tech guy so someone with hacking skills may be able to give you better tips as to minipulating the phones system to bypass this inconvienince i have found if that is your problem. i hope this helped good luck:)

Re: Does anyone else have dust under their RAZR screen?

Supposedly the V3c already comes with the LCD screen that has the slightly thicker gasket.  You can always take off the old screen and apply a thin bead of glue (removable type) or gasket sealer that also needs to be removable. Just ask the guy at the hardware store for a removable sealer (Also it always helps to explain what you are trying to do) [8-|]

I forgot - here is the step by step guide to replacing the LCD cover. -> http://www.themotoguide.c...

Re: Does anyone else have dust under their RAZR screen?

You can buy the screen here -> http://cnn.cn/shop/motoro...

Re: Does anyone else have dust under their RAZR screen?

I have the same problem with my new Rizr. The phone is only 1 month old! You would think this would be a warrenty item. If they won't replace the screen where can I get the new LCD screen for $5 Thanks

Re: Does anyone else have dust under their RAZR screen?

YES the old dust under the screen issue is back again or should I say never went away. The dust is getting under the LCD screen simply due to a gasket that is apparently too thin. Between having a thin gasket and static electricty it is enough to pull small dust particles past the gasket and annoy the hell out of the user everytime they use the phone. You can order a new LCD display cover that has the improved gasket for about $5 +...

Re: Razr battery problem!
Now my Razr won't come on. In the last week or so, the display has been acting up a little.  I wonder if it's the battery? I'm going to the store today to find out.
I bought a new one today, and my old one's working again. The guy at the store says that the old one has a software problem.

Re: Razr battery problem!
if the problem persists with bluetooth off you should contact the store where you purchased it. You should also consider purchasing an extended Lithium Polymar battery because they last a lot longer!!  Hope this helped   thanks
Is the Liquid Polymer battery the same size?

Phone Wars: Why do (some) people hate the iPhone?

Why do people hate the iPhone?

I got this question today via Facebook and thought it warranted some thought ... and all that thought warranted a blog post.  So I ask you, as you read on, what do YOU think?  Why do some people just seem to hate the iPhone (and Apple) so much?  Noah, maybe you can answer this for me: Why is it when people praise the iPhone, they're viewed as either blind fanboys, or on the Cupertino payroll, and when people praise 'any' other...

Krave: VZW to sell Moto ZN4 touchscreen smartphone for $149

    Moto Z54 to VZW

Motorla's MING series of Linux-based, touchscreen smartphones have been pretty popular overseas but never really seen the light of day here in the US.  Sure, you could pick up an unlocked GSM MING via CompUSA or an importer, but without carrier backing most Americans had no idea that MING was a phone and not *just* a dynasty from their history books. Looks like Verizon Wireless is aiming to change all of that with the introduction of...

    Nokia 5800 launch

Nokia held a big shindig in London today where, as expected, they officially launched the XpressMusic 5800.  The 5800 is the first device to feature the S60 5th Edition operating system, which adds support for fingertip and stylus-based input and high-resolution displays.  As you might expect from that, the 5800 does in fact pack a high-res, touch-friendly screen: 3.2" of resistive touchscreen at 640 x 360 pixels.
