The Friday before CTIA and a few bits and pieces of phone news are coming in ... that's a good sign.Earlier today I traded Emails with one of my contacts at LG to make sure that we sync up at CTIA Wireless next week in San Francisco. She mentioned that LG will be launching a few new phones, and a new "product" backed by some kind of clever celebrity endorsement. The celebrity won't be at CTIA, she said, but it'll make sense when you... T-Mobile USA finally got all official and stuff with their forthcoming 3G network by launching the Sony Ericsson TM506 today. Okay, okay, they've acknowledged the 3G business before, but they've also launched a few AWS-capable handsets in the past few months without actually mentioning the 3G bit in any online or press materials. Not so, anymore, as the press release reads:The TM506 is a sleek flip phone available in a black gloss... Today's shaping up to be a good one for digging through the FCC's
online goldmine. New filings have outed the Samsung T919, a
T-Mobile-bound GSM/EDGE/3G device (yup!) featuring a whole slew of
features - especially if you combine what seem to be facts from the FCC
documents with rumors that kicked around the Web a few weeks back.Best we can tell, the T919 will be a US version of the Samsung Tocco,

I needed a new machine for my office and didn't want to pony up $1,300 for an iMac when a $500 Windows machine could do everything I needed it to and then some. I messed around with trying to get OSX running on my Intel-based box but finally gave up due to seemingly unended... Noah gets all over the new Voyager Titanium for Verizon. It's like the old Voyager, but in Titanium (not black), and with Visual Voicemail and Rhapsody support. There's been a lot of talk over the past several months about Netbooks and now MIDs. Netbooks are ultra-light, ultra-portable, low cost laptop computers like the Asus Eee PC, MSI Wind, Lenovo S10, and Dell Inspiron 910 Mini - they generally have screens in the 7-10" range, run an Intel Atom or similar low-powered chip, and cost in teh neighborhood of $400-500 (or more, depending on the configuration). MIDs are smaller tablet-like... Q. I'm looking forward to buy the Samsung Instinct and before I buy it, I want to know more about GPS, Internet, MP3 for example if GPS, does it come with the phone or they charge extra for it??, and Internet is it free?? or not, and also I want to know how the MP3 works.
I saw a video on Youtube, about this woman getting a 300 page bill from iPhone, which was crazy and got me to forget about buying the iPhone, and plus I don't want to... Reports from a number of sources and Web sites are pointing to the latest in a string of iPhone 3G problems: Data services are out for AT&T customers up and down the East Coast, and the majority (or perhaps all?) of the complaints are being registered by Apple iPhone 3G customers.A thread in the AT&T forums titled "Full 3g Bars. No Service." details a host of issues iPhone owners are having connections ranging from no data service... Thanks to everyone who commented & emailed me on this one. Turns out that T-Mobile simply changed the IP addresses on some of their servers, and T-Zones Web access was not cut off after all. Switching the addresses - most easily accomplished by way of an upgrade to Big Boss' T-Zones Hack (available via Cydia) - did the trick. Web access via T-Zones is restored and all is well again in the land of cheapskate iPhone... Hot on the heels of vehemently denying any delays whatsoever to the forthcoming launch of the flagship Xperia X1 smartphone, Sony Ericsson has released a Software Development Kit for X1 panels. The SDK allows developers to "create a host of unique multi-media entertainment and content for the Xperia™ X1... [which] brings a totally new experience to mobile phone users by introducing nine easy-to-use, interactive panels which sit on... A thread on Sprint Users "confirms" release and pricing info for HTC's Touch Diamond and Touch Pro smartphones on Sprint. To be fair, the thread has images of device hotsheets, so this looks pretty legit. I just like putting words like "confirms" in quotes whenever I can.
Looks like we'll see the Touch Diamond by the middle of this month (that'd be September) at an on-contract/after rebate price of $249.99. Rumors are pointing... A. I think iPhone will stay new and fun because of the App Store - there are new programs available for it every day, and since many of them are free, it's an easy way to make... Verizon sent me their new LG Voyager Titanium late last week and I played with it throughout the holiday weekend. Voyager Titanium is a sharp-looking phone and it basically works like the original, save the additions of Visual Voicemail and the Rhapsody music service. Visual Voicemail works pretty well on first blush, though you'll be paying a few bucks more on your VZW bill each month to use it.
Upgrades aside, my feelings... Forget the blurry spy shots; some very crisp and clear spy shots of the alleged HTC G1 Dream (aka the first Google Android phone) have surfaced. I'm going to bite my tongue on this one for now and ask you, dear readers: Is this supposed first Google Phone ugly as sin or dreamy as a newborn babe?
Before you answer, bear in mind that I'm not asking you about the potential of Android as a platform or HTC's track record making phone...
